Watch the fretting hand of the rhythm guitar player. Sit or stand where you can see his left hand. You can get the chords from that. Stay, mostly, on the root of each chord and keep it simple and you will do well.

If you could post a link to a video of Georgia Satellites playing that song, it would probably be easy to skull out the chords.
Georgia Satellite usually uses basic chords.

God blessed those who got that lucky.

I think my son and I have succeeded in browbeating my grandson, Casey into covering a commercial tune.
He wants more views on his video blog and we are trying to convince him to try pop music to start.

Here is a first attempt to cover a tune by John C. Mellencamp entitled "Play Guitar". Our first try came out reeeeealy rough.
I invited Aaron Nelson to come in and play bass guitar, I conned my son Jamie, to play drums for his first time. Casey's nine-year-old buddy, Jacob Krause, stood on a chair in our tiny music room and operated the video cam. My grandson, Casey did the lead vocal with yours truly on guitar. Poor Jacob couldn't video the bass player behind Casey without falling off the chair. It was a major car wreck but we all had a good time. We may rehearse a little before we try this again.

As we age, skin problems always get worse. There are solutions. If you can visit a dermatologist, you may learn much.
Experimentation may teach you ways to form a callous, moisten the finger tip or shield it.

I can't believe we haven't included "Hound Dog" by Elvis Presley.
Here is a vid of a medley of "Hound Dog and "All Shook Up".

Jimmy sings a lot about booze but his intake is not what some may think. He was working alone and appeared to have it together.
The lights were quite bright. I think anyone Jimmy's age may have fallen.
I pray he's all right. I'm a fan.

I agree, Whitewater55. You win them over with well known old favorites.
This gives a crowd a standard to measure your skill level.
Once you have them grooving along, then pull up your lesser known material. They will have been prepared to enjoy that now.

I have two 16 foot canoes and a rowing dingy next to my houseboat at Fly Creek. I find that there is a strong correlation between boats and guitars. I paddle a time or two a week up the creek in one of those.
My buddy lent me an plastic/laminate Applause guitar to keep on the houseboat. It's fun to strum after a row or sail.

Like Pix, I heard this song by Creedence Clearwater Revival recently and remembered how I liked it when it first came out.
I added it to my tune list and have gotten a good reaction to it from the older crowd.

The guitar has a nice neck, low action, is super easy to fret and the pickups sound like Eric Clapton's Strat I heard on u-Tube. This is a nice guitar for a beginner. It is easy to play and sounds great. I haven't compared it with a $4,000 Strat but I think we got a good deal.

There goes your rhythm section! Looking forward to seeing the Cas-o shredding vids!

Thanks for commenting, Topdown.
Case-o found a website where they offer duty-free music. He found a theme he liked and wrote his own rap to go with it.
This video features Casey's dad, Jamie, (my son) singing the Star Spangled Banner.
Casey is now a U-Tube partner and gets paid for his videos. smile
