Hey Wayne smile

Nice write on this. I'm guessing that a whole bunch can unfortunately relate to it. Hopefully you'll be doing Six.5 Percent Blues sooner than later.

Thanks for this
Kenny

Hi Syd1994,
Changing it because you can't play it the way it was written is not a sign of weakness, it is more of a sign that you show the imagination to work around the problem and can hear something different that works.  Your not preventing yourself from learning something new when you are doing something new. smile
That is a sign of a good songwriter. Use it to your strengths. Practice your strengths.

Hope that helps you out some. smile

"Now we drink to sorrow,
Now we drink his name,
No more demons in my dreams
Cuz whiskey makes me sane"

Brilliant writing on these lyrics. I hope you have a chance to play this for your Mom and the rest of the family. They'd be proud of this as I believe your brother is.

Kudos to you Sir and I'll echo Geo...keep em coming.

Hi Trevor, After reading your initial comment I wasn't sure who you wrote the song for.

Phew-w-w-w-w!!! Glad to hear it wasn't for Daddy. lol

Seriously though, a real nice set of lyrics there and I look forwards to the recording.

Kenny

Well that was a pretty cool 1 hour of TV. For those that didn't see it, it centered on 6 people, three were main organizers and three were participants. Lots of old footage on things I didn't know happened, like how close it was to being canceled and how it was saved by a small motel operator in Bethel (small town just down the road where concert was actually held).

Anyone else watch and pick something up they didn't know?

Kenny big_smile

DatelineNBC is doing 1 hour on Woodstock  tonight at 7PM EST if any one is interested.

The previews look pretty good. smile

Nice Work on this Trevor. smile

You know your way around the keyboard pretty good and your production skills are not too shabby at all.
Kudos...throw some lyrics in there and you have a real nice song.

Kenny

P.S.

In the recording section of the forum there is a link at the top for anyone on board that would like to volunteer there talents to a project should one come up.
Sounds to me that you would fit in nicely. smile

Check it out smile

Thanks ctech. Yup, Dylan for me lyrically and the Beatles for the melodies. Pretty tough to beat that line up when they where in there prime.

Thanks for the read and comments. smile

Vent away smile We all go through this at points in our life. Some more than others but the ones who love to play always come back cause it just plain feels so go-o-o-o-od inside. And they know it. smile

The passion will come back when its time if you let it in.

Howdy bensonp, I've always loved listening to Luba's version of "When a Man Loves a Woman"

Here's the link. I hope it's what you are looking for. smile

The lady has some chops for sure. It's a little grainy but it still wells me up right to the end.

Thanks Jeff smile

Simple can be all that is needed for a nice song. I'm really biting at the bit to get the finger picking down so I can record it next week. After it is recorded can I get you to add "Recorded" in the subject line to save those that are interested in hearing it from checking back to see if it is done yet.

Thanks for the read and comments. smile

Kenny

Hey Phill my Welsh Friend smile

Feels good to be back, now I just gotta kick myself to stay awhile. lol

I appreciate your kind words as they're coming from a pretty talented singer/songwriter in his own right. I have a week to practice my fingerpicking and trying to remember how to record with Audacity as I don't feel comfortable with my BR600.

Hopefully I won't have to ask too much but if I should...I know where you live. big_smile

Thanks my Friend. smile

Hi ctech, I wish I had the talent to arrange like you do. smile That's some real nice stuff you got going on there.

May I make a suggestion to post your website next to your Email so it can be easily found. This can be done in your profile.

Good Work. smile

Very interesting question Doc, judging by the answers so far it appears it is one of those simplistically difficult questions that boggle my mind.
I'm still having a hard time with what came first...the chicken or the egg. lol

She expressed in an Email a few weeks back the same and that she takes a great deal of solace in writing down her thoughts.

Bless her heart.

Thanks daddy for the read and comments. I don't know how many yippy's and yodels can fit in as it's a pretty laid back song but I'll give it some thought.

Thanks Again

Hi Jets smile

They sure do grow and go don't they. Nice sentiments on this one. Kudos

I can't play it at myspace cause they are still de-bugging and I see you took it down from youtube.
Looking forwards to the listen.

Kenny

Hi Trevor. I don't know if the latest post is the fixed one. If it is take out {st for raw copy} and leave without brackets.
Simply type in verse 1 or 2 for verse no brackets and {} with soc inbetween brackets to start chorus and {} eoc betweem brackets for end of chorus. No spaces

The st:B1 and st:a1 is screwing up the formating for you.
Hope this does it for you
