Tried my hand at oil painting, did one oil on canvas, it was decent. everyone says its a good painting, but I can't say that its anything I want to pursue. I don't really think of myself as artistic, I think I'll just stay with building the occasional boat, home repairs, and nuts and bolts stuff -cut to fit, beat into place, thats the way I do it.

I've rode Honda, Harley, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Indian, my all time favorite and fastest was Suzuki. Oh yea, one of the sweetest sounding acoustic 12 string guitars I ever had the pleasure of strumming was a Yamaha.

From personal experience I have to agree with Zurf. If I sit in the wrong position or chair while playing, the arm pain sneaks up on me. The remedy for me is to relax and give it a rest for a few days.

I like it. I'll have to sit out on the mountain and sing it out over the holler this evening.

Hi ya Usky- and welcome. Like a lot of others I came back to playing after a long break. At the tender age of 61 years I'm having more fun than ever. My thanks to all you here on Chordie, you all have helped me more than you know.

I have to say it was Woody and Arlo Guthrie who gave me the inspiration to play guitar.

Hearing sure beats not being able to hear at all. Rejoice in all that you hear, for someday you may not be able to. I live with tinnitus and know that eventually my hearing will be gone. I enjoy all that I hear, the kids playing down the road, the chickens and sheep up the hill, the donkeys and cows down in the holler, the hawk calling to its mate, the dogs barking at the coyotes up on the ridge. The sounds of life, it's all music to me.

Welcome 3chordmania. There are a lot of good people here and they are always willing to help and offer advice. My wife and I visited England a few years ago and really enjoyed ourselves. We live in the mountains of southwestern Virginia. The weather has been quite nice lately, despite the occasional power outages we have from storms passing through.
