Since I am the one who began the thread with my question, allow me to be the first to thank you "Vom ganzen Herzen" ("With my whole heart") for your time, effort and talents in showing me/us the very definitive changes from minor to major keys.
I wrote a comment on YouTube as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed "Colors In The Wind"! It is a beautiful tune, and I'm going to "kidnap" it and say you did it for me, since I started the thread about the minor keys. J/K
You ROCK, Sir!
Your friend,
Bill
Bill Thanks and your welcome to "kidnap" it I forgot to mention this was videotaped with my Sony HDR MVI Movie cam it dont zoom or take pictures but has some big Mic's glad you gave a peek
Ok so I had some free time this morning before the Packer Bear game and composed a progression of the chords listed above I also listed the progression in my notes on Youtube I have titled the song "Colors In The WInd" and I hope you enjoy this

I think the only time I break a e string is when I am changing and put a new one on and like bill I trust my ears instead of watching the tuner, what I like about my Les Paul deluxe is the auto tune when I change a string I press wind up and when it approches the pitch the light turns amber when it is to pitch it changes to green nice feature
I have seen the movie a few times Don Rickles, Eastwood Archie bunker as the wacko general Donald Sutherland was great I liked the part when they faced down the panzer commander good one
Really classy looks I like the headstock and tuners congrats.
I will do you one better I am going to video tape something I am making up on the fly using these chords and post it to you tube, I will use my TRIO device for bass and drums and add some other goodies.
I also like to use minor to major as in Em7 D C G (second position) and resolve to D
Zurf I am totally unfamilar with your setup try playing the guitar thru an amp and see if the pickups are working hopefully someone who is more familar with your setup will chime in sorry
Well to be honest this has nothing to do with music Theory so I am sending this jewel to the chat forum
Strummerboy Bill wrote:Since I posted what I did and tried to go back to 7, I got the following screen:
"We're sorry, but you can't go back. Files needed for the transfer have been deleted." (approximate quote).
I know what they mean. The "windows.old" files went missing probably due to something I did.
I can still reload 7 from the disks, I think. Can't I?
Thanks
Bill
PS: Heh-heh. Sounds ominous, doesn't it? "You can't go back."
Bill There is a folder in your program files called "old windows" if the contents are not deleted you can go back.
My PC with Windows 7 back boots in less than a minute!! that is from the time I hit the on to ready to surf and I know I aint going back to 10
mekidsmom wrote:Sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you Russell. Honestly, I haven't played around much with the old desktop upgraded to Win 10. It's sole purpose in life right now is for the kids to use to play their games (apps) and view youtube videos of minecraft and make up tutorials (little girls are pretty silly). I can say, I haven't been called over to "fix" anything though, so it must be running ok. My daughter did say that it doesn't seem to be running any faster than it was, although switching users is MUCH improved and I like the security features built into 10 for the kids (I get a weekly email of what apps they've played and websites they've visited - or can look at any time from the internet - and it appears quite secure = I did have to set up separate accounts on Microsoft for them and verify I was an adult).
I did find that after I upgraded it, it took a day before a LOT more updates showed up on the older machine. I was originally sold with Win 7 - I purchased Win 8 trying to revive a dying laptop and ended up putting it on that machine. It's a piece of junk from Walmart that my MIL bought - Junk as in, blacklisted - can't use that model to work from home on with most companies it's so bad! But, so far so good as far as I can tell.
So, anyone migrating - keep an eye on the windows updates every few days and run any update software that came with your printer/video card/sound card/etc. I don't blame ya though Russ. A lot of people don't want to have to WORK to make their machine run properly. Wish I was close, I probably could have gotten it "happy" for ya.
Amy I have decided to wait till I have to upgrade The cooler fan I ordered arrived and set up fast and works really nice I did notice the laptop was getting hot before, now it is nice and cool
Phill Williams wrote:russ, i wonder if you just got a bad copy or something? mine seems to be working well so far...touch wood. i had a little problem with my printer but after a few hours of poking and prodding (metaphorically speaking) it cleared itself. i also had to re-download my recording program and it wont even look at audacity! to be fair though it's never worked right on my PC anyway...but good luck
Phill I still have the opportunity to re install but I am leary I just dont want any damage to my laptop it did crash on win 10 once
I started having major issues with Windows 10, long boot times, black screens that went on for minutes, frozen applications it got to be to much for me and I decided to revert to Windows 7 it took about 15 minutes and everything is fine again. Sometimes the phrase "if it aint broke dont fix it" makes a lot of sense it did with me.

hmmmmm... I'm not seeing this. It may be that you just have the wrong "printer' chosen. Next time you try to print, check out what's in the printer name field. It may say "Microsoft PDF Print" - you'll want to change that to your printer name.
You can go into your settings to set your actual printer as the default so you don't have to change that every time you print. (control panel, view devices and printers - under hardware and sound, find your printer and right click on it, then left click on "set as default").
On the other hand, LOOK how EASY it is to create a pdf!
Thanks Amy I will give it a shot

I will order one today great idea thanks for the link
Roger Guppy wrote:Russell, I always run my laptops on a tray with a cooling fan since I had a similar problem some time ago and I have not had the same happen since (touch wood). They are not expensive these days.
Roger
Good tip Roger thanks I have a fan in the window I can move the laptop over
Doug_Smith wrote:Not that it's gonna make you feel better if something "melted down" literally. But You Tube is a great "stress test" for hardware and software. There is a lot of stuff going on while watching a film on YT, the video and sound is working hard, the browser is running along with the network assets, you got flash (?) and java scripts running, memory buffers cycling, drives spinning, etc. all at the same time!
Keeping my fingers crossed that it just hit a thermal threshold and "scrammed" .
I was able to reboot it but I dont know if this is a quirk or a fortense of things to come I will have to wait a bit before restoring it back to 7
I had a major meltdown on my laptop right in the middle of watching a youtube video the computer said it had to shut down and it did after trying to reboot I am getting all kinds of weird stuff I shut it down and will try later after it cools down so its back to my trusty xp this sucks kind of like going on a blind date and she turns out to be the daughter of Dracula
It was running so good no problems now Windows 10 has some serious issues we me.
I can say one thing about it FAST! my normal boot time with the win 7 was around 2 to 3 minutes before I could open my email or open the browser not anymore I timed it, and from the time I hit the power key it was around 1min 10 sec. I am using the new browser Microsoft Edge as I type sure is a pleasant experience so far I am going to test the voice commands next. so far I give it 5 stars
well it is installed still getting used to all the new functions and the install didnt take all that much time so many features
mekidsmom wrote:OH - ok so the big question, "what if I don't like it?" -- you have ONE MONTH from the time you upgrade to roll back your system (unless you had purchased win 8 or 7 in a box and have the product key).
I am having a problem with the upgrade it is stalled on the opening blue screen with "working on it" and the spinning white pebbles of death I waited over 4 hours but nothing happened so I closed out the upgrade with the X I tried several more times to get it to install with no success and contacting Windows by phone I waited a half hour on hold so I dont know at this point if I will continue trying.
To follow up I tried again and it is installing just have to wait, I am on my backup pc running xp as I type
Strummerboy Bill wrote:Audacity is too complicated for me. If I get just a cassette deck, can I make an MP3 by just connecting it to the RCA receptors on the back of my computer?
Thanks
Bill
You cant make an MP3 without a DAW (digital audio workstation) it converts the signal into a MP3 or WAV form so you can upload it or even email it the only other option is to video tape the song using a camera and upload it to your computer via a usb port.
SB yes I have quite a few original instrumentals in several genre this is one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRMpG3MO6v0
