Thanks Banks Lyons and LMF I had a brilliant time.
This one has the word brake in one verse .It is based on true events from the late 60s .I wrote it after I lost a friend .Riverside cafe closed around 1970 and was demolished ,A modern motel now stands on the site .

Trying hard to find the vid I promised so far unsuccessful I probably haven't time to re record it at the moment but it may be on a dvd I have .
Stormy Monday ,And a little story to go with it . Back in Crete about 15 yrs ago we did a roof top party in a village and I for my sins was the headline act , unfortunately for me I had to follow a local teen age band who were absolutely amazing . I turned to my then co guitarist Brian and said how do we follow that . Thankfully we were both on good form and did a good set of blues classics which the audience loved , The set included Stormy monday I think I may have a short clip of it some where which I will post if I can find it . The beauty of Cretan audiences is they respect you as a musician and it doesn't matter if you are 16 or 60 .
Got it , tried it more of a That'll be the day swing and every thing fell into place .
Jim I always like the way you try and fit all the words of the challenge into a song .I'd like to hear it sung though ,Not being a great Buddy Holly fan I haven't found the rhythm or the tempo for this one yet that suits my voice or style , but I'll give it another try and get into the groove shortly
Peatle your song has great content .It holds your ear all the way through
Bryan weve had the heaters on today ,British summer time LOL
Richard you and Al did a good job with what I've alway thought was a hard song .Well done you two
We did a 45 min set and an encore I usually allow 5 mins for each song to allow for banter and instrument changes so this was 9 songs plus 1 extra
What about Phone booth by Robert Cray it has a line which says I had to buy me some wine this version was from our recent performance at Ilkley fest where it was raining so do I get 2 points for water and wine LOL

I was lucky enough to be invited to play at the Bolton Socialist Club recently ,by no means the biggest gig I've ever done as I've played many massive festivals in the past .But this was one of the best audiences ever .Every body listened ,and joined in with the silly stuff. One of the best gigs ever. What about you guys ?
Keeps me feeling young Jim . Some of the players we get at these venues are so good and much much younger than me .I have to keep up with them and its getting harder .LoL
Peatle the last vid was an impromptu jam at the end of an open mic night ,not my band although I do sometimes jam with the singer at other places but the Cajon player was a first . I must admit I thought it was ok despite me playing some bum notes .
Peatle , Paul and Jim are both old friends who I have been in other bands with so it was easy to get in the groove .
We hang out a lot at the place in this next vid
This is me backing Mike Burtoft and Connor Walmsley who are part of another local band "Bertie and the Signs "Mike organises many events in the area .
