Does anyone know the strumming pattern for Easy/Lucky/Free by Bright Eyes?

Thanks,

If you're going to play guitar at all, go buy a real one. A good ol' acoustic will never let you down in a power cut, and there's no chance of it's wiring messing up...

Yeah sad

I know someone who is a Beatles fan and she is some form of musical genius and plays guitar so I'll ask her about it when she gets back from holiday.

Can't help you, sorry.
But just a warning, no one seems to know this band...
I found the music for Only This Moment, but that's all there seems to be.
I was amazed to find a thread titled 'Royksopp' really,
They're so unknown over here.
Anyway, I'll shut up, this won't help you at all, sorry...

Thanks for the thread smile
I was gonna post one saying pretty much the same thing
But then I found you had beat me to it xD

I was trying to learn to tune by ear too..
But then I gave up and bought a tuner, made my life so much easier.

I should probably be less serious about guitar 'cause of school too,
But I prefer my guitar to homework. xD

And I listen to Bob Dylan and all that,
But I don't know how I could give you advice...

Great lyrics, It's amazing how love brings out the musical side in people.
I tried playing it and it sounds great!

I've been told you shouldn't put steel strings on a classical guitar. Someone I know did and I had to put them in and, besides being awkward to set up (I impaled my thumb on the top string), they do damage the guitar, as we noticed after a few weeks...

I only tend to use a pick for tabs.

Thats awesome big_smile. I have a thing for random lyrycs  I guess....
Saw some great names here, its interesting to me to see the influences and how they show themselves in the different styles I see here on chordie.

That was Pink Floyd's Bike from Piper At The Gates Of Dawn - Their first album.  Check it out it's very good!

cool

I LOVE that song, know all the lyrics by heart big_smile , great music video too.
The devil worshipping gingerbread men is a bit freaky though...

Sorry Kerry,

Just showing my age by not being up to date with all these new fangled bands lol

Roger, the old codger tongue

I strugged to find a decent video that you recommended, there are many very amateurs ones but I did found a reasonable one eventually. They seem pretty good so I will look out for some more of their stuff and I see what you mean about the lead singer's voice. Not outstanding but he can hold a note and keep in key and that is most important, thank you

Hey, I'm only 14 and I listen to Simon And Garfunkel
Not so much Art Garfunkel on his own,
Although I do listen to Paul Simon quite a lot.

But anyway, I've kinda gone off the subject of the post,
Good luck with your singing Max.

Roger

I meant Bright Eyes as in the band, sorry for the confusion xD
But yeah, Art Garfunkel does has an amazing voice anyway.

Look up "Bright Eyes - First Day Of My Life" on youtube,
Great song, easy to sing, and mega-cute video [=

Find a singer with a song you like who has a similar voice to you. Try Bright Eyes, the singer doesn't have an amazing voice, but he writes the songs to fit his voice, and has great lyrics which makes it sound like he can actually sing. Bob Dylan too.

I don't know how to help with playing infront of people because I'm used to it, having acted in various plays infront of reasonably big crowds since I was quite young (even if it was mostly just the local pantomime every year) and a lot of them I had to sing in, but not on my own. Moving on to your second question, I don't think it is really important of you haven't memorised the songs, just so long as you can play them well when you have the songbook infront of you.

It's started working almost normally now.
It's just not letting me upload an avatar,
It keeps going back to my old one even if I delete it and try to uplad a new one.
I guess I'll live though,
Thanks!

Any Beatles/John Lennon/Peace in general fans should definately watch this.
John Lennon interview on peace.

The band has broken up, didn't work out. But thanks for the ideas, I might be starting a different band with some people I know, so this forum was not totally pointless...
