No, the bottom 3 strings you will be barring are the Low E (now a D) the A, and the D. Remeber that EAD are "bottom" strings and GBE are "top" strings

Depending on what the climate is like, you may not need one. If you live in a place with very dry winters (midwest) like me, you'll need one. I use a Kyser Humidifier that fits in the soundhole and works well

I resolve to clean and polish my instruments more, as well as change my strings more frequently

Also as for restoration, is there anything I should really be looking for, damages wise, etc. I plan on polishing it, etc. and replacing the neck since it's cracked

No but thanks for the link. It's a hollow body with a tailpiece but looks almost exactly like a Les Paul. As soon as I get back to school and get my digital camera cable I'll upload pics of it. Should be up around the 4th

Roger,
Pardon the french, but the only guitar I've named is named Bitch. Named because it looks like one now but hopefully after some restoration it'll play like one. No idea what kind it is

Does anyone name their guitars? Seems to me that most people do. I've named one of my three, but 1 I haven't had long enough and another nothing stands out too much on it, so it'll be named later in life. So if you fellow chordians named your guitars, what's the name, guitar, and why?

Just picked up a new guitar from the shop, a very old hollow body electric with no sound holes. Have no idea what the make or model is, let alone the year. They told me it may be a Supro, but aren't sure. It's got the body of a Les Paul with a LP looking neck and a horrendous headstock on it along with a tailpiece. Sounds great anyways. But it's in rough shape and I plan on fixing it up and painting it. Will be posting some pics of it shortly, hopefully someone can help me figure out what it is.

Yeah I have a Boss Blues Driver BD-2 and and Boss Fuzz Pedal that I occasionally use, and my amp has effects such as distortion, chorus, reverb, flanger, tremolo, etc.

Last Rebel,
There's also a site that sell guitar paint and maybe some templates so you can paint your own guitar. I don't have a link, but am sure google does

Second that

Shinedown did a great version of Skynyrd's Simple Man

Doc, I don't really see any difference between a drinking man and a drinking woman, unless the woman is pregnant. And drinking in moderation is actually healthy for you, moderation meaning 2 to 3 a night

I own some of the games and they are really fun to play. Although I don't think it makes me a rock star because I can beat it, and since I play real guitar, I know all about the hours and years and decades that go into guitar playing. I think it's great as a game, so long as everyone realizes it's a game and they can't really play Freebird. Everyone at parties seems to enjoy it though, it's kind of like the new-age karaoke.

John Fogerty frequently changed the lyrics when he sang the song live to "there's a bathroom on the right", although the original said "there's a bad moon on the rise"
