Maybe you could transpose it to a different key for easier chords them capo it to your vocal key. Maybe the key of G capoed on the 5th fret to get the real key of C will work for you. Good luck.

The Zoom A2.1 U pedal should be all any acoustic player should need for effects. They are awesome.

Semi hollow or chambered solid. A full hollow may be a little too airy sounding for you. I've also heard a tele with a humbucker in the neck position have some sweet tone like you're after. That and a low gain setting on any good tube amp and a few select solid state amps.

You will want an acoustic with solid tone woods which a decent one will cost you around $300. As for the electronics that can be added later. That or look for a used A/E with at least a solid top. There's a big difference that you will appreciate the older it gets.

I was drawn to guitar as a young child of 5 when i though that Elvis was the only pro musician alive even though he had already passed away. I grew up with 5 uncles that were always playing guitar in kitchen jams and in the bars and i got the itch to learn too so my parents bought me a Roy Clark acoustic guitar and a few lessons. Well i stuck with it for a few months then the guitar got busted by an angry dad early one morning. Time went by about 20 years i guess then the guitar started calling to me again so this time my wife bought me a Jasmine acoustic by Takamine and a beginners lesson book. I taught myself the basic chords including the B and the F and all barr chords and worked at it with online lessons and now i am better than my uncles ever were and still learning. I play everyday with one of the five guitars i have and have written 3 complete songs just this month. I still only play out of my love for it and the relaxation benifit and use it in my personal worship time. I just hope one of my kids will want to learn so they too can feel the passion for real music.

I just want my kids to have a good Christmas. If i have any left over after everyone else gets gifts i'd like to try out the SX Furrian Thinline Tele or a Jay Turser paisley or rosewood Tele.

I have a couple of Takamines that are sub $700 guitars and the only thing i have found better is the higher end Taylors, Gibsons, and Martins. I have tried a couple that are almost as good in the same price and they are Walden, Carvin, and Morgan Monroe. You might want to check those out if youre shoppin around.
