Good job big feller. I listened to you singing this song a few times to get the melody and spent the last hour or so learning the other bits. Love this tune. You have made my day.

Sorry Beamer, I am with Dino on this one, I could not listen to it.

Nela,
you can find some Billy Joe Royal music here - allbutforgottenoldies.net
Zurf, although not a great believer in luck, I wish you heaps anyway. Sometimes it is difficult to turn negative situations into positive ones but with clear thoughts and focus, can be done. I feel that you are a determined individual and a good human being to boot so allow your natural attributes to guide you.

OK, just tried to open my song book, no go. Tried to delete a song, same thing, no go.
Appears I an in the same boat as most others.
Admin has been informed of the problem.

Hi rrajacich, and welcome to the site.
You can delete songs in your songbook by clicking on the box next to the song (at start of song name), scroll down to bottom right of page and click on the delete button.
If you are maxed out and don't want to delete songs, you can create another songbook. Just call it "number 2" for example.
Hope this helps
Cheers

I am getting in early here but I have to return to work tomorrow (in the bush) and will be out of touch for a while.
4th of July is a big day for America and I wish you all the very best. Celebrate well. The 4th is a celebration of sorts in the our houshold as well, 43rd anniversary for Mr and Mrs Bushy.
Take care and enjoy the good times

That sounds pretty good to me Big Fella.

Have a listen to this young woman. Karise Eden just won the Australian version of "The Voice". Her rendition of the song, Halleluyah will reduce you to tears.
I have been trying for an hour to post the link, time to give up. Sorry.
Just type her name on u-tube.

Welcome Johnny,
a great first post, offering to help, not just wanting something.
There are quite a few Chordians around your age (myself included) so don't feel lonely. A great bunch of folks around here.

Hello all,
this thread seems to have wandered off track a bit.
To GW, a great first post and welcome.
As a 3 or 4 chord strummer, I find your site very useful and have saved it in my favourites.

Roger,
glad you decided to keep the hair, it adds a bit of humour to the site.
Maybe The Other Bald Moderator could follow follow your lead.

Hello all,
similar story here to many of you. Started playing guitar at about 12yo or so. Also had a Silvertone around this time. I do remember the first song that I learnt, Peggy Sue by Buddy Holly. I was doing OK until 19yo (Viet Nam draft got in the way). Made many half hearted attempts to pick up the guitar again over the years but could not get my head around things. Other priorities I guess. Got interested enough to have another crack in about 2007, about the time I found Chordie, and this time have stuck with it.
Started off this time with a Fender accoustic, pretty basic guitar but got me going again. I now have 4 accoustics, 2 electrics and a mandolin. (The dreaded GAS)
Many thanks to Chordie and the great folks on board that have helped me along the way. I know I would not have got this far without you all.

The song that brings a lump to my throat is "Pretty Paper" when sung by Willie Nelson. This song is not exactly depressing but is emotional to me.

Hi all, the hardest chord for me to play was the simple C chord when I was a novice. I am still a learner but this C chord is no longer a problem, don't know why it was back then.

Dino, if you have your heart set on a Martin, hang in there. You will not be satisfied with another brand guitar.
Stop going into guitar shops and looking/playing at other makes, this only torments you.
