What do you do when there's meant to be a bit of music in the song between the verses and you don't have the chords. Often it just says solo. Do you just go straight on to the next bit or do you try and play something?

I seem to have a thing about the G chord. Apart from the odd exception when i print a new song out, i very often end up transposing it to start with G because the tune doesn't sound right.

My friend wants me to play April come she will bySimon and Garfunkel but so far i've only played simple picking patterns. Anyone got any suggestions for a suitable pattern for this that will not be too complicated but sounds reasonable? Is there many of you that play it?

I have been looking on youtube at the way people play the coldplay song ' see you soon'. I can't figure out how it's done. I watched Chris Martin and i've watched cover versions where people are playing it in a similar way but i can't seem to get to grips with it. Can anybody help? T hey seem to be using their thumb and then fingers in a strumming way.

Another question! On the tabs for the intro to joni mitchell's a case of you , i understand the tabs but i don't understand what the chords are doing above the tabs. If you were playing like the tabs where do the chords come in? Now when you have stopped laughing maybe you can explain, because to some, probably most ,it's obvious but not to me it's not!!

I only play between 20 and 30 chords and usually choose the easiest way in fact sometimes i cheat a bit which i know is not good. I sometimes go on to ezfolk.com because they have really basic shapes. I think if i had started playing when i was young things would have been different but i only started learning in my 40's. No excuse really , i guess i'm just a bit lazy!

Marmite is a dark brown mess in a jar, supposedly a vegetable extract but tastes like the worst medecine you have ever taken. Even the masochists who claim to enjoy it only spread it very thinly on toast or bread.
It should carry a government health warning.

mmmmmmmmmmmm, love, love it especially on cheese on toast

Re: Help! Guitar buzzing (7 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I took my guitar to a luthier and while it was a good guitar, he made it sound even better. He planed the frets, adjusted the action and restrung it.
Your problem could be due with how the neck is set, the bridge, or the strings. In any case, a good luthier ought to be able to make the adjustments if they can be made. (The luthier I went to also made some non-standard adjustments on an entry level mandolin to make it playable too.)
For the work I had done to my guitar it was about $80 US.
Hope this helps.
Im glad you mentioned how much it cost because my friends husband is going to work on my guitar, he is very experienced. You know what its like when its a friend who says they don't want payment or who don't like to say how much and i was wondering what to pay him. I was thinking of that amount approximately, in equivalent pounds of course.
