I'm sure every-one has their own methods. Something that works for others may not feel right for somebody else. But you knew that answer was coming. My best advice would be to start carrying around a note-pad and pencil. Jot down lines about subjects you have in mind to write about, somebody will say something or you'll get a two line rhyme stuck in your head, etc.  Humm to your self alot!! just little la la la's and rythmns, pretty soon you will have lyric to follow the la la la's and the chord structure will fall into place as you make it go to, and say what you want it to. Sometimes it takes me three months to complete something then other times I've written three songs in one day. Good luck and don't be too hard on your-self.

Thanks for taking the time to come back a second time Dino. I think acoustically it makes it more about the story than the "thunder" I was feebly trying to attempt in the first version.
This is the great part about "Chordie". Comments on song structure and lyric suggestions etc are what most are after here. Not comments on playing ability or voice quality etc.

The pawn shops around this neck of the woods wouldn't know a Harmony guitar from a Harmony dating site. My step-father had it slung across the back of a saddle in the British Columbia interior for 20 years and it still sounds as sweet as the day it was born. I'd never sell it unless someone offered some outrageous amount!
thanks people

Thanks guitarpix.
The one I have is on this page     http://harmony.demont.net/model.php?id=836
It is the one with the eighth-note circled around the "ROY". There is the # 202 before the H7030.

Can any one find an old song by Jimmy Dean, of "Big Bad John" fame, that is called "Bummin' Around" or "Just Bummin' Around"?
" I got an old slouch hat, got my role on my shoulder, I'm as free as the breeze..."

I'd also like to find the lyric and chords to the theme from an old TV show called "The Littlest Hobo" It was about a german-shepard dog.
I think it starts with  " travelin' around from town to town...."

thanks in advance

Thanks for ALL your comments daddycool.
I'm glad you got the feel of this one,
envokeing a personal memory or emotion with the lyric and "feel" of a song is the mission that we set out to acomplish.
thanks again for the encouragement.

YES!!! thats the song "topdown"
if I was a better musician I'd be able to figure out the chords but I'm afraid that every man has his limatations. Lyric with chords is just a must for me. At least now I can listen to it!
Thanks TOPDOWN
