Howdy,

Just gonna share something I used over the weekend , I played at a party for about 6 hrs Sat night. It was a solo gig, so it was kind of a long time to play without breaks. I have Spotify downloaded on my I-phone and I just plug it in the back of my Acoustic amp in the AUX 1/4'' input  and it plays nice without adjusting the levels of your amp inputs. I just used the volume control on my phone and when I was done with the break I would just hit the pause button on the phone and go back to playing.

I just went to radio shack and picked up a 1/4'' x 1/8'' change over and a three ft  1/8'' cable and just plug the phone in and set the phone on top the amp smile

Your input for your guitar will also work but if you have an aux input on your amp it works nice

you could add El To it ............

Hello,

A few things I notice with my guitars this time of year. I have lived in North Dakota, Wyoming and now South Dakota and this time of year the furnace is on alot and the fireplace is running alot. Unfortunately it gets very dry inside the house and the Solid wood guitars don't like it

Some signs to look for , if you can see and feel the grain of the wood on the guitar top it is getting dry and next come the cracks. My Martin and Gibson are the most affected and the first thing I notice is usually the G-String starts buzzing and as they get dryer all the strings are buzzing.

I try to keep my room fairly consistent around 40% is good for me, but being away from home 2 weeks at a time it takes some help at home from Lizzie B.
Just thought I would share and maybe prevents some cracks smile

I believe Guitar Manufactures recommend 45-50%, and Humidity is easier to control inside the case than a room if you don't have a humidifier.

Here's a cover , done recently with a Zoom Q3HD , I was playing guitar through a Genz Benz Compak 300 Acoustic Amp and used a Sennheiser 835 dynamic mic. I couldn't find the tabs and lyrics so some of the lyrics probably aren't exactly right but............

I know what you mean Zurf smile  but I like young folks and seems the ones that have decided to be musicians are very cool for the most part.

Hello Everyone, & Happy Holidays, I recently visited Haggerty's in Rapid City So Dak, and was trying out a few new guitars and a young fella in his twenties was messing around with a Banjo. I asked him if he would like to follow along with a G C D progression and he said sure smile So I played " Will The Circle Be Unbroken"  and he followed along and did really well I let him take some lead breaks and it was fun. I played a couple more G C D songs and he had a Blast. I had to get going and shook his hand , I can't tell you how grateful he was, he said he doesn't get the opportunity to play with others and it was very special to him for someone to ask him to play along.

I am not a very out going person but If I have a guitar in hand I welcome everyone insight to play along.
Music has made me a better person and I have made so many friends young and old through it. I hope all my Chordie friends have a Great X-Mas and New Year................

Looks like I can make it and wondering about what Airport to Fly in to.

Zurf,

It took no skills,  just had to write a check for the Bigger House. Liz and I moved to the Black Hills of South Dakota. I now have a 15 X 25 music room , great neighbors and milder weather. It was a big move for us but , we have been so happy since moving, I am counting my Blessings each day smile

It also took a lot of luck to get our house in Wyoming sold at the opportune time.

Hello ,

I was just reading over some posts and Zurf had mentioned Pandora and I thought I would share my experience with Spotify. It is a free app on I-phone so I just downloaded it . You can add stations by genre or by an Artist you like and it will play similar music and some by your Artist chosen. I use it in my vehicle by pluging a 1/8'' cable from my phone to my car stereo aux outlet. I also use it with ear phones from my phone traveling through the airports. When I am at work or home I plug my computer speakers into my phone and listen to it .
I am now going to discontinue my XM radio in my vehicle , I am really enjoying Spotify.

Jerome, my Grandparents lived in Port Townsend and I still have some relatives in the area, you are right Port Townsend is a very unique place especially for Musicians and Artists.

Cool Hand Luke, & the Famous Quote from it    " What we have here is a Failure......... to Comunicate."
Once Upon a Time in the West
Good the Bad & The Ugly and all the other Spaghetti Westerns
One Flew over The Cuckoos Nest
The Shining
Easy Rider
No Country for Old Men
Jerimiah Johnson
The Sting

It is fairly simple , a guitar works on vibration and when something is loose the guitar becomes Discombobulated smile

Heya, Nela

There are tabs and Intro on Countrytabs.com and also a youtube video. The tabs on Countrytabs.com make it more difficult than it actually is. If you would like I could tab the intro and lead in easier version, so you could do the intro from a G chord and stay in the first position, making it easier to stay on the rhythm.

I change strings about once a month on my guitars that get played alot. Also when changing strings , loosen the strings and grab the string firmly and push the slack down , into the guitar unseating the string from the bridge pin. You will be able to pull the pins out by hand smile

I sanded the neck on my HD-28 to a satin finish. I have been wanting to do this for several years , just worried about hurting the value or having it not look too good. It turned out so nice, I wish I hadnt waited so long.
I went to the hardware store and purchased the finest steel wool they had and slowly removed the clear poly finish. I just sanded lightly with the steel wool and if you didn't know it you would think it was an original satin finish.  The original finish was too thick and sticky. It was thick enough that a capo had left dents in it.

I'll keep my Gibson's , Martins, Guns, Freedom, & You can Keep The Change !

In this song each chord designation is One measure, not all chord tabs show how many measures each chord will be , but some chord tabs will and if there are two measures of a chord it will have two chord designations then the next chord change. Or something like this G//// G//// C//// with each slash being a beat of 4/4 timing.
