here is the scratch track https://soundcloud.com/beamer326/skelet … atch-track

hey guys this was a 1/2 song version of you dont know, on acustic. thought you might wanna hear it.  https://soundcloud.com/beamer326/acoust … w-it-feels

Good job on the petty song!

Well I lived up to my METALIZER moniker, though I tried to be more BO DIDDLEY STYLE.  I think Tom would like the Idea of really changing it up. and my voice just wont do it.  tonight was a total of about 15 tries, and  alsoI tried on acoustic the other night.  Either my voice was not too terrible but I muffed up a line, or my fingers got stuck, but this is it.  Its my Tradition LP into the RP set on a clean setting with delay. my C1 Berhinger mic into a compressor and my classic (IE: 80s old Ibanez sound tank) digital delay.  then it all got glossed over in Audacity with some more reverb and compression and leveling.

I learned a bunch of parts to songs!  7  notes to smoke on the water,  and stuff like that. but really first song, .....

A horse with no name.

and probably Gloria.  its Van but I was playing it to The Doors version. lol (a little more disjointed) or stepping stone by the monkeys

call orkin, let the bombs fly! lill before they get in your bed and boxes! Im sorry to hear this for you guys.

Back to the  idea of the specs for a "Chordie camp fire" guitar.  has anyone taken it further than the idea stage?  I think in one post on here I mentioned maybe contacting Guitarfetish or Rhondo directly and running a bulk order past them, I do know a guy who can do 3D graphics and ill bet they would look burned in, cheaper than a lazer or actual wood burning.Or he could produce the emblems that are adhesive and will cover any manufacture  logo. (my friend and guitar teacher created an Ibanezertone by placing the Ibanez sticker over the Slvertone emblem, it was pretty cool)
The guitars from GFS (the Xaviere line) are well built and sound very good.  Maybe we can ask them to ship with out the logo and crest on them so that we can have our own put on them OR we can just put our logo on the bottom right of the face.  For the ceder fans there is this model http://www.guitarfetish.com/XV150S--Sol … 4270.html,

The price is right. lets face it we are talking about a camping guitar, not a concert guitar.

There is also Rhondo. they have a travel guitar with truss rod. its here and looks pretty impressive, I think the logo can be covered or removed by someone with the right skill set.  if its a sticker, it can be removed easily enough. http://www.rondomusic.com/trav1.html   (watch the vid for this) and as i said, we can always burn in a logo on the front bottom face also.
Something to get thinking about again...

Cheers,
The Metalizer

As I started to notice what I liked and didn't,  it starts with My Father and his vast Classical collection, of which I didn't really appreciate, However I did like watching  the BOSTON POPs which was an event in our house for dad.  I remember that it was the fun of watching Author Fiedler and the back stage  interviews with him,, what a crotchety SOB but he was humorous in the same package.  Mom never  showed much to us till later and it was her love of FRANK, The chairman of the board.    He was cool and all but still, not kicking it.  then Happy Days came along, and Dad pulls out his one rock record.  BILL HALEY AND THE COMMITS......Rock Rock Rock,,, then i moved on. Yet, I also learned about Broadway and how great that is.
I have two older brother, so on one side I had a brother who was into the disco and soul music,  then my other brother started bringing home Zeppelin, Kansas,  Boston, andStyx.  and then Somewhere I found KISS and then The Who and so on.  The rest  is metalizer music and that chunk chunk of the 80s till I die.

Great lyrics, Beamer ... and unfortunately I can relate intimately. The "beauty" of nightmares is that they're not real, and we always awake to plenty of hope and beauty IF we choose to look for it. Give that sturdy boy of yours a big hug, eh?

TF Thanks, and btw they won again 36 30 in OT he now plays left guard.  Also this is not a nightmare, the skeleton bones are the ones that you always wonder where they went or how they turned out.

Ok, I posted up about inspiration the other day, well tonight after finalizing the song that is now in the songs section, I was kinda noodling around and came up with a killer riff, it will develop but man its fun! and its using octaves and just grooves.

That's all. good night my friends.

This has been a idea i have had for years.  Could never make it work, then this last week, BOOM.
Working on scratch tracks right now in audacity, but plans are being made to hang with Jerome and really put this together nice.

Wow I saw a vid of the Split Enz back in the mid 80s. They were cool.  Had no idea they still were together.

Wow I saw a vid of the Split En it

Well that was a great explanation of HOW it works and why, but when does this happen for you? LOL I guess my 4 16oz beers +my physical exhaustion = getting something done LOLOL

I bring this up due to i have been so busy at both my jobs (OK, one job, the other my passion for detailing) that I have not been very musically creative for a while.  As it happens, I was not even thinking of writing last night and I had a idea hit me and i spent about 30 min getting it started.   Verse, pre-chorus, chorus,  verse. and I ran out of steam. ( I sent it off to a few for help there).

My point being, there are many times the thought gets triggered by something else, and the last few times its because I have been in my biopic / music doc mood. and something I hear gets it all going.  last night it was Foo Fighters  (Back and Forth,  on Netflix) one of the songs off Wasting Light was on towards the end and I was humming it half asleep, getting ready to go to bed because I was up too late (wife is out of town lol) then the first lines came to me and I said them out loud and surprised myself.  By the time I got "WORD" up, I had almost forgotten what I had said.  Its been an old Idea waiting to be put out correctly. and it just flew out.  Now to finish one or 2 more verses, and hope my hands can bring out  the correct music in my head!

Not posting in poems. just going to wait for the song to come out.

So, When do you get most creative?

Once again thanks to all, for our friends across the pond  "he Jammed out with his first love" = American football (IE: Not soccer)  Yes it was a confusing adjective, so sorry about that.  He has played foot ball since he was 6yrs old.
He was correct in his statement about thinking he would be starting.   He was told he was going to be starting Defense and then I find out yesterday they swapped him out for tonight's game to Starting Offence. ( I like him on D because he can get more recognition as a tackle by bringing down the Qtr back or the guy with the ball)  But he is pumped up for it. weekly reports to follow, (I know it may be a bit much but hey were family smile  )

IDK, I saw a Guns and Roses tribute band and they kicked ________ also so did a very good KISS band.  When your heroes become human, and start getting old and cant hit the high notes so well, I can totally get into  a great tribute band.  its in the mind -set you take when you go to see them.  Its fantasy, make believe.  you don't go to evaluate the minute crap, if they are good, they are good. If the singing and playing blow, they blow.  And I have seen one or two of my hero bands  blow chunks in a very bad way as they couldn't reach the quality they once had.

As always,  the one who is different, smile

My Chordie family has heard my son Cory and I jam out,  Well tonight he jammed out with his first love.

After sitting out 2 games due to vacation missed practices, Cory got to dress out. He then went in for a injured player and KICKED BUTT! It was a great game. the boys started slow, but came back and won their first win  26-20.

After the game he says to me "I think ill be starting now" (That boy doesn't know what not starting means since he was 6!)  ALL the boys worked hard and earned this win!
Running markers is the best way to watch the game!
Sorry its so big.

As it is stated. Let me know best east coast time.  I'm good at noon or so wes
t coast time .

I think this is a repeat topic, However its a fun one, and so I shall reply:
Beamer  has much to do with the phrase that has become a urban legend as it was never spoken  on the TV series to which it gets referred, and is counted among my favorites,  and mix in a bunch of "Lifer" San Antonio Gypsy MC guys, One of which happens to be your father-in-law. ((FIN)

So Yes I am a fairly big Star Trek Geek and so on the weekend I went on a MC rally with my in-laws, I have my STNG "com" badge pin on my riding vest.  We all were pulled into a nice establishment to get refreshed.  As I was walking away from the burger counter, In the corner I see Dick (my FIN) AKA ("Mr. Happy" ) and his buddies laughing and pointing at me, so as I walked up to see what was so funny., I was hit with a bunch of guys saying "BEAM ME UP SCOTTY" due to my first name and the com badge.  As they say, you earn your road name, not pick it.  Thus, Beamer was born.  Then after a few years on CHORDIE  and a few Skype get together's, I did ask if I could have a subtitle due to my inability to stay acoustic and un-distorted.  The mods talked and granted me my METALIZER tag.  smile

Ill take that challenge.  I just gotta find the time to do it!

I use the transpose to get me to the easiest way for me to play - comfortable chords.   Then after I get it down sometimes I'll go back to the original chords.

As far as getting it in a range for my voice ----- Lmao -  It really doesn't matter cause I can't sing for a hoot anyways. I'm sure it's important for real musicians however.
I use the capo a bit when I'm trying to get a certain sound - for instance when I play Galway Girl By Steve Earle I move it to 5th fret to get a  Mandolin/Uke sound.

Congrats on getting settled in your new digs.  Always a pleasure to hear from you and Dondra.

Best wishes to you both.

Jim

Thanks for the song suggestion! had never heard that but it has that D he likes so much in copperhead road big_smile,  now a new one to learn. the 12 makes a nice mandolin sound capoed on 3 or 5.

The key to using an OD or DIST. with the acoustic is to get a sound hole plug.  I sent Z the links to it and a little advice on how to work some adjustments for getting light to max OD while adjusting the level control to balance it with the amp.  an just a thought for new pedal geeks big_smile  OD and Dist are only cousins.  Fundamentally the same principal but very different responses.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVGgrmL1-hg

and watch the knob settings on this one with the SD1 and the  DS1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P5Ai2hHk_U

and just for a lot of fun  I used to take a 12 string shallow bowl Ovation into the test room and plug into a marshal stack on the dirty channel! !!!! AWESOME!!!

I have used different strings over the years, and i am always going back to GHS BOOMERS.
The biggest thing you notice is not the sound of new strings but the feel and weather you are on 9's or 10s
