Thanx for the pic Roger. What do you think? Did I do good?

Today I picked up a Mexican Fender Duo Sonic for 50.00. To say it needs a little work is an understatement. The pickguard is broken. The bridge is rusty and the nut is broken. I haven`t even plugged it in yet to see if all the electronics work. It was also painted with flourescent  pink and lime green lines all over. I am going to take it apart and repaint the body. My question is if the nut from a strat will fit on this. I always wanted to do a project like this and I think I have a good foundation to start with. If I screw up. I won`t be out much. I ordered a new pickguard on ebay for 50.00. Now I need to get a bridge and a nut. If the pickups don't work, I already have a plan for that. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Pictures soon. ( Have to bug Roger)

Stop complaining about mistakes and work around them. That`s what I do. The fact that someone was able to post a song tells me that they know more than I do. You obviously have so much expertise that you are too good for any guitar sites. Now go and collect your Nobel Prize for your contribution to humanity. You probably think Shemp is the funnier stooge too.

Use it with that cabinet. If it sounds good, you`re all set. even if you had 200 watts. Would you have it cranked that loud where all 200 of those watts would be utilized?

Start with the most simple solution. How far are you from the amp. Are you right next to it or is it away from you? Try moving it away from you.

My problem isn't barring. It is the other 3 fingers and making the changes. Simple (real simple) ones I can do. Not the ones using more than 2 fingers.

How about if you keep a steel folding chair handy. It will add about 10 seconds to your time to fold and unfold.

Linus always said there are 3 things you don`t discuss in public. Politics, Religion and the Great Pumpkin

I won`t discuss beliefs. But things like that don`t bother me. My daughter shops at Forever 21. On the bottom of their bags are the words  JOHN 3:15.  I am not going to stop her from shopping there because of that. I know some people that get offended because In god We trust is printed on currency. That doesen`t  bother me either

Non Alcoholic beer can't be good.  I remember Near beer.  Boy were they a poor judge of distance.

It`s all I can drink. It`s better than near beer used to be. Still not like the real thing. If they come out with a non alcoholic scotch I will be there so fast.

Haven`t had any kind of alcoholic beverage since 1992. More to it than that. And not good either. Of course all these come out after I stop.

The new ones will have a longer shelf life. I hope next they bring back the chocolate cupcakes.

I`m left handed but I play right handed. Why Joey? Because I didn`t know there was such a thing as a left handed guitar. I always saw my favorites playing right handed and assumed that was the only way to play.

In the 80s I had a set called "The Compleat Beatles". It had all the songs including all the covers they did on their early albums. It was a 40.00 set back in 1983. It also had stories and pictures in the beginning of each book. They were the size of 2 large phone books. Now I have a 2 book set of all beatles songs with chords only. No covers though

I remove one string at a time. I treat that part of the fretboard while the string is removed.

I have an older digitech. It seems like I always end up going back to a good old fashion overdrive pedal in the end.

I used to use them all the time. They are the best. The reason I stopped is because they changed the packaging. 2 strings in one bag doesen`t do it for me.
