have fun,if you have fun you will want to do more, the more you do the better you get.
As Roger said, do a 2 chord song, sing along make it your own.
Don`t get hung up on trying to sound like the original,it`s all about fun FUN FUN
Good luck.

King Crimson    "Level Five"    Japan,  2003

KC's 2003 double disk DVD "Eyes Wide Open" was compiled of tour footage throughout Japan. This song features intricate guitar duo work between Adran Belew and Robert Fripp, backed by the amazing drumming of Pat Mastelotto, and the touch guitar bass arrangements of Trey Gunn. It's a bit unique in that it has a "level five" intensity, but never really becomes a song as such. Nevertheless, the musicianship is exciting to watch / listen to.

Don`t know if Peatle ever mentioned it,but we have a beer most sundays with a mate who toured
with Robert Fripp.

A  couple of days ago there was 21 Chordie members logged in and after looking I was the only one who posts.  None of the others logged in had ever posted. Why is that and what can we do to get more members active?
Why do members log in to read parts of  Chordie and do not take time to comment?

I think if more would  post would allow us to be better.
We have some active members who I have not seen posting recently and I miss them too.

good question i often ask myself the same thing.i`ve come to believe it`s apathy.
A good example of this is Phil & Roger have just recorded Phills song.Maybe it will get 20 listens.
I`ve noticed many musicians are only interested in themselves.
Having said that if you put a poem on chordie it gets a great response after a few mths hundreds of people have read it.
maybe we should change  it to a poem site.
ps how about using your talents to do CSOM?

Roger, great to see you are going to cover a Chordie original.
I love it when this happens, can`t wait to hear both versions.

Excellent songs/music all of you.great to see CSOM getting lots of support.

Tig
that`s a lovely looking guitar,well done you.

Gee many many thanks for your encouraging comments.
I have plenty of limitations,so i keep it real simple.
It scares me putting stuff out in public, but my mate Peatle is a great supporter.
I`m swamped in self doubt and usually put up a song only after a couple beers.(dutch courage)
Please don`t be afraid of making bad comments as i`m  happy to listen & learn.
thanks again EB

What do you mean silliness?
this is a serious & deep piece of spiritual writing.

There`s a tow truck in the kitchen
a goldfish in the clouds
a fire at the fire station
and a ship on the moon
there`s a woman who`s a man
and a man that`s neither and both
There`s an optimist who`s glass is half empty
And a pessimist who`s glass is half full
there`s a flood in the desert
a tsunami in the bathtub
a flame in the ocean
and a pig in the sky

Tyson, thanks for the advice,i think mainly the problem was i had the neck close to the mic.
next time i should have the mic by the soundhole.

that screechy sound is this amateur guitarist moving fingers on strings.
as i usually do i just jammed this,i don`t go back & rerecord,so bum notes, mistakes & screeches stay.
thanks for comments

The other day i watched an interview with James Taylor. He talked about life & music. I was very moved by what he had to say.
He talked about songwriting,he said go ahead do it.He also said allow yourself to be vulnerable.
I just love writing songs,it gives me huge satisfaction. But lately i been keeping them to myself as often i`m pretty embarrassed
by the end result.
Now having been inspired by the words of James Taylor i`m going to `allow myself to be vulnerable`
