Here is some home-spun blues from Pirates Cove in Josephine, Alabama - a place so wonderful and funky, I docked a houseboat there for a few years until hurricane Ivan blew it away.

Pirates Cove - a place where tattooed ugly people drink, pick and grin and unfortunately, sunbathe.

In the key of "A", playing A,D,E,, I play a medley of " Shake it up, Baby" and "La Bamba" going back and forth between the two. There is a passage in E for the Ahh part.

Congratulations, Pete.
She's a beauty and has the sound you were looking for.
A very successful purchase. May we anticipate a sound recording in the near future? We can only hope.

I own a 1960 Gibson ES330. I prefer the Fender neck but the Gibson offers a wider variety of really cool sounds.

Good on ya, Bushy.
If I were you, I would attend a jam with Melissa and her dad.
I might be fun to help accompany her with your guitar and encourage and support her any way you can. Some folks remain unaware of the extent of their talent. You have your ego under control and experience to offer.
I am not a strong singer or player but over the years have accumulated a long list of novel tunes and am willing to share.
Be well sir,

No offense, Topdown, 'Tis true that I am older than dirt.
I used to have a houseboat right on the swimming beach at Pirate's Cove  Marina. Just happen to have some binoculars aboard so we could check out all the tats (tramp stamps) on all the bikini-clad, redneck, beach bunnies. They had so many, sometimes it was hard to make out the lady underneath all that blue ink.
The only thing that forced to me move my boat out of that primo boat slip was Hurricane Ivan. sad

I got a two word comment on U-Tube from Pat Dailey after I covered his "Blue Catawba Moon" song. I substituted an F7 for a F9th he played on the original arrangement because i found it easier.

John is playing his new small Taylor guitar. This is small enough to go in overhead storage on a plane.
Taylor recently introduced this guitar to replace the "Baby Taylor" that had insufficient bracing. Big sound for a small guitar.

Got a call from Florida from my longtime buddy, John Reno to bring my tuba and play a weekend concert series with him in Southwest Florida.
it's gonna take me a month of practice to get my chops together enough to keep up with John but the good times are well worth it.

MKM, maybe if you went with another guitar player it would give you enough support to deal with stage fright. It would also be fun to work up some tunes with another player.
I know they would enjoy you. I do.

Hi mickyo,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-TMaFUx0AY
They are playing this song in F# with an electric guitar. This is hard on acoustic guitar. if you're using an acoustic, you may want to place a capo just below the sixth fret. Then you can use open chord shapes in the key of C. I will give you chord shapes in C:
C, E minor, A minor - repeat until the lyric "wanting" then play F then G.
Go back to C, E minor, A minor, and at "wanting do F and G (this time eighth note power chords).
Like a bridge here, Am, Bb  (bring your pinky down on the second string one fret above your 3rd (ring) finger to make B suspended) then F and G.
Back to verse chords, C. Em, Am (you know what to do at "wanting")
They do bridge chords twice.
He takes a slug of his beer and the lead guitar rides over Gm, C and F (twice). The ride ends with FFFF GG.
Repeat bridge chords twice, then C, Em, Am F,G C.
Boogie 'til you puke,

Hello OnMainStreet,
The beginning of the song and verses are D major 7th to E minor (back and forth). Then you have G, G minor, D maj 7 to (E minor (twice)) then B and a run down over "All of my time" - C, B minor, A, G and G minor twice. Back to D maj 7 to Em for the "Over you" lyric.
The rest of the song is the same as the first part.
I forgot how pretty this song is. Vocals are too high in this key for me at my age.
Good luck with it,

Sorry, it's not Friday but this tune I found on Facebook is by a local artist and the boats and scenery are typical of this part of the U.S.
