I chordified this for you.   What a moving song!
Thanks for sharing.

I saw Richie Havens and (actually met him) in 1976 at my college where he was performing.

I do not know if it is different than what Phill or Dino said b/c they are way beyond my playing ability  smile

Jim

Enjoy

There are a few chords missing namely the Ebsus4 and in music notation you don't put a F# in a flat key it is a Gb this chordifie is useful but not entirely accurate;

as far as i could work it out and the chord changes are made to sound funny because of the timing changes go (i think) like this;

Bb-Gm-F-Eb FOR THE VERSES

CHORUSES ARE; Ab-Eb-Bb-Eb. it's a lovely song but if you play it as recorded you'll need ...well i don't know what you'll need, but i wouldn't play it that way, i'd do it more rhythmically.

hope i could help

Phill on "you are the one" on the word "one" the keys play a Ebsus4 to a Eb and the guitar solo modulates to a Db Ab Eb and the last chords in the solo are Db Ab Gb Eb other then that the chord progression you give is correct. I like the tune but it took a little getting used to the rhythm sort of like a hymn smile

I was in a Bears bar here in DC for that finish. The whole room exploded. That was incredible.

Would love to have been there myself I watched it at home and the pass was actually thrown from the packers 35 yard line and went 5 yards into the end zone making it a 70 yarder wow talk about arm strength smile

WOW!! what an ending! The play before the hail Mary looked like the Stanford game with Rogers tossing it back to Rogers and a face mask penalty with no time left but the game cannot end on a penalty so the Pack had one more shot and made it pay off, the Lions only rushed three linemen and Rogers bought time slipping to his right and heaved a moon shot 61 yards into the end zone and the rest is history Richard Rogers (no relation to the composer) jumped several feet off the ground and somehow made the catch in the end zone for a walk off touchdown just incredible. Now if the Seahawks can somehow beat the Vikings in there stadium the pack will have a half game lead having beaten the Vikings earlier I am still jacked up this was the best early Christmas Present I can remember yahoo smile smile smile

I would not let anyone use my Les Paul period!! if something happened I am responsible to pay for the damage and it is a good way to loose friends so I would politely decline a request to "borrow" my sweetie.

I go through that once in a while it's normal I found that I enjoy practice more with my Trio recording the progressions I come up with and playing along to them, once there on my boss loop I save them via my Gibson memory cable and upload them to a folder as WAV files so I can get some ideas for songs and also practice on lead riffs it works for me. smile

I'm somewhat confounded here. Was scanning Beatles tunes and ran over "Piggies" opened it up and observed it to be a melody I could play. When I went to hit the catch to add the tune to my Beatles Songbook there wasn't one! How's that function? A debt of gratitude is in order for any knowledge.

They are not showing Green Bay in my area today and my 49ers are on a bye week. I do get too watch The The Seahawks and Arizona tonight. Go Green Bay and Seahawks!

Green Bay has managed to lose again at home to a 1-7 team they played like the "walking Dead" for 3/4 of the game and had a chance to win it on a field goal but the kicker forgot which part of the ball to put his toe on. I cant recall the last time I heard the Packers boooed at Lamboue field after the 1st half 3 points and 5 punts. This loss (there 3rd in a row) allowed the Vikings to take over 1st place at 7-2 the Pack is 6-3 and play at the Vikings next week if they show up with the same attitude I expect they will be 6-4 when they leave. I watched the Seahawks Cardinal game hard hitting lots of great defense but the cards held on to win virtually eliminating Seattle from the playoffs.

i thought i'd give bass a go 2 decades ago. so bought a bass and joined a band who played a bit of everything, but i played it like a lead guitar, and missed my timing quite a lot with the result that i got a lot of telling-offs from the drummer. if i was standing too close on stage i got a drumstick across the knuckles. so my advice; keep it simple, stay in time (listen to the bass drum) and don't try to be too clever

Yes when playing bass simple is the key less is more, root 4th and 5th walk up walk down cant go wrong don't get fancy you will save the bruised fingers and friendships smile

I used to do tons of business in Germantown and Saukville. Man that is a beautiful place. I miss Lake Michigan.

Joe I lived in Saukville before moving to Port Washington it reminded me of Milwaukee back in 1958 people still mowed there lawns and no graffiti, gangs or drugs just good hard working folks.

I originally installed the update from Win 7 to 10 and has some problems with boot time (over 5 minutes) so I uninstalled and reverted back to Win 7 and waited till the bugs were worked out (over 3 months) then installed it again It is working really good now boot time is less then 15 seconds so I will see how it go's.

I have to say I am really disappointed with the Packers defense they have given up over 500 yards in there last three games the pass rush is virtually gone and the secondary has more holes then Ben Carson's theories on history add to it the receivers cannot get open and the offensive line is playing like the "walking dead" Eddie Lacy Is just flat I wish I could share Rogers optimism but "Relax' don't cut it they have to get aggressive and  hungry again enough of this living on past glories crap kick some butt!!

I just strum it on my acoustic the meter is like 1&2&3&4& sort of like a polka rhythm in 2/4 time, on 1 pluck the A string on & play the rest of the chord in C  when you change to F pluck the 4th string on 1 and the rest on & same with the Am G pluck the root bass string first then the rest on the & keep in mind  some of the chord changes are less then a bar but if you use the chords given above you'll be close enough to play and sing along with the audio

The changes are not that hard the song is in the key of C and it modulates to  C#  basic changes are C  F  G and Am and It modulates to C# F# G# Bm try these when you play along to it if you have trouble modulating to the C# just stay in C

I have no complaints it dose what I want it to do, one of the cool features is once you record a progression you can switch to a different genre with the dial knob and get a whole new pattern and feeling. I usually start with the rock setting at the top of the selecting and as the playback is going I switch it to blues,jazz or whatever some very interesting ideas develop, my setup is running the Trio thru two 12"speakers and a 100 watt pa head then I use both of my amps (Marshal and a Epiphone) with 10" speakers for the guitar in stereo it sounds really nice when I kick on the Electro Harmonix C9 sort of like surround sound very cool. Yes I love it and like any effect you have to keep working with it to dial in what you like.
this will give you an idea what you can do with it I composed the chord structure and the melody just happened
