Sorry to hear that Cam. Not trying to add salt to your wound but that sounded like a great deal. Lesson learned. You will find another!!! Half the fun is in the hunt.

It was sort of cool when The Who did it but now it just seems sort of silly. I think Pete's reaction was genuine emotion at least at first. Now it's lame to do it for effect.

I own an Agile 2500 and I love it but from what I understand Michael Kelly guitars are fantastic. If you get to play it and with the case I can't see how you could go wrong.

Irony with a twist of irony. Would this be ironic irony?

You are not an idiot. Isn't it the most fulfilling thing to find these things out on your own? Part the reason I love playing so much is no matter how much you think you know, you can always discover something. And that feeling of discovery, that light bulb moment is the best. Your being too hard on yourself. Did you smile ear to ear when this occured to you? If so, then this is reason enough to want to keep on playing.

I agree with Fatstrings don't give up on a pick. Try using the a thin pick .5mm. And you can also buy picks with rougher surfaces like Dunlop Gator Grips...I play both with or without but down the road at some point you're going to want to use a pick.

Yes, Rap is poetry in my opinion. I'm not a fan but it can in some instances be clever. It rhymes and flows; I'm no expert but I think that's poetry. It's unfair to exclude it because the majority of us think it's awful. There are lots a genres of music I don't care for but it is what it is.

Deep and stimulating. You guys are doing the poetry page proud. I was especially moved ;-)

That's great perspective, can I use that? People (myself included) get so caught up in the "day to day" that sometimes a "slap of perspective" helps. Your statement is the slap we need when we get whiney at work!!!

Beautiful country...thanks for the pics. Did Santa bring the new camera?

Hi Everyone,

I'm still looking for any information about the Agile Dauntless guitars, I like the looks of the SBD black flame, I would love to hear from anyone who owns and model of the agile Dautless, thanks for any help.

         Cam

Hey Cam,
I looked at the Dauntless but ended up with the 2500 instead. I'm not a good gauge for guitar selection most of the time because I don't care what it looks like. For me it's all about sound. I don't care about color or finish. My guitars are for playing not collecting. The guitars I buy are for me and I never sell them. I love the scatch and dent crap.
From what I've read, it seemed the 2500,2900 and 3000 were better construction wise. I can tell you from experience having played both the EPI and Gibson, there is not much if any difference. I know this will enrage the purists but it is what it is and it's my opinion. If I were concerned about the appearance I probably would have considered Dauntless, I like the look of the Root Beer one. From everything I've gathered, you won't be dissapointed with any of Agile's LP copies. I hope someone who owns a Dauntless chimes in soon. BTW, I bought the green 2500 with EMG's and unless you like green and gold it's not so pretty!!!!

You would be surprised at how difficult it is to play with a metronome.   Studios will use a "click track" and if you aren't used to it, it can be very disconcerting.

That's so true. I find it very distracting. I'd rather play to a cheesy looped drum track any day.

Play as many as you can. What I like you may not. What you like I may not. I have a Takamine G series acoustic electric that is in the price range that I absolutely love. Again, personal preference, don't get hung up in the name game. Count on look and feel. I've played some pretty expensive guitars and they're not always the best. Each acoustic is different, even within the same model. And like Southpaw says, give your local, independent music store a chance. Without them, we'll all have to shop at #$#%$ Guitar Center.

Great cover. I disagree with discouraging anyone from covering anything. I love cover songs. Some are hits and some are misses but they are all special. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Keep up the good work.

Ken,
That is the coolest. Thanks for the link. What a great place that must be to live. And props to Stihl for sponsoring such a thing. It's nice to see a company with a marketing approach that exudes creativity and dignity.

I own a Agile 2500 with EMG pick ups. Bought it for short money. I've played the Epi copy and I think the 2500 is better. I planned on replacing the electronics but she's perfect as is. I highly recommend looking at what rondomusic has to offer.

I have a Boss ME30 that I run through and then to my pc. It has a bypass, so I can still play or record if I don't want to use the pedal. It also has built in tuner, which is awsome. Has preset and user settings, so you can set each indivitual effect to your taste. That being said, I do have an onboard effects program that can with my soundcard that I purchased at Guitar Center for around $100.00 US dollars. Also came with a cubase recording program, Which I've yet learned to operate. But Audacity works just fine till I can find someone to explain to me how to use cubase. I agree southpaw, Boss is the bomb. Boss and Roland are made by the same company, so I would trust either.

Funny I recently bought a Tascam USB interface that came with Cubase. I consider myself computer saavy but Cubase is just plain weird!!!! I've been using Audacity which I liked but recently switched to Mixcraft which I love. It's 50.00 or so but you can try it free for 7 days. I think it's well worth it. It's a little "slicker" than Audacity....IMHO throw that Cubase disk out!!!

I think it'd be a good investment. As long as you're not gigging it's a boatload of fun for relatively short money.

Also, with respect to using Line 6 stuff, I've read a lot of articles that recommend using a guitar with humbucking pick ups rather than single coil. So far, I find this to be true but I'm far from an expert with this pod thing. Sounds better on of the LP copy than the strat.

I recently bought a Pocket Pod (not the POcket Pod Express version) and I love it. It's great for home recording and practice through headphones. I have not used it through a real amp yet (just a 10 watt practice; haven't really needed to) but I understand they sound just as good that way as well. It's a little quirky to use at first but I think it's a great value for around $119.00 in the US. I have also used the PodXT and that's great too. The pocket pod is portable and other than bad battery life it's great so far

Sirius satellite/internet radio is where it's at. It costs $12 a month but it's well worth it. You get Howard Stern and Bubba The Love Sponge in the morning and evening, respectively.(talk/comedy/pop culture/politics) And the music channels have just about any kind of music you could ever want, with almost NO COMMERCIALS, or annoying, overbearing DJ's talking over the music !!!!!
You get talk when and where you want, and music of any style whenever you want.

I tried Sirius..."almost" no commercials. This was my problem. It should be NO commercials. And I found any talking by the DJ's is annoying. And some of them are awful. The washed up MTV VJ's...ugghhh. I was hoping a real, interesting, diverse company would come up and kick their but with interesting, diverse programming. IMHO, Sirius fell way short on that account. I gave it a year and then gave it up. I think it's the right idea they're just getting away from what it supposed to be. For me, they became just like cable TV, promising but ultimately disappointing. Just one guy's opinion.

Huh? I think it's interesting, appropriate and applicable. I respectfully disagree, sir. This is music theory related. Timing is something I've always struggled with and I think this is helpful for song writing. In fact, if this weren't such a hotly contested issue, I'd say it probably fits best in the Songwriting Forum. But, just one mediocre musician's opinion for what it's worth.
