I love A Horse With No Name. Four chords, three of which you don't really see anywhere else, and it has a terrific bass line that I've never been able to get right.  To quote Jimmy Buffett from God's Own Drunk, "It's so simple it plumb evades me."

4??? I only used E and Em LOLOLOLOL

Great description.  Lets not forget ACTIVE and that all the mentioned are Passive smile

Do you have a mixer? i fno DI then a nice little 2 track or 4 track Berhinger mixer sounds like what you need.  Run computer to the CD / tape Ins and Outs so it goes back out to the PA side off your amp.
https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-502-BE … nger+mixer

or
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CTKI5QA/_e … KDS9ZH42MY  as it has some built in effects.

You will still be using the 3/8 to RCA but much better sound and more options for you.  Even like Russ mentioned make a CD or use a media player like a IPOD or an older spare phone with now network card, and use it for your media player.  I have an old ASUS phone that is my tape recorder and and the WI FI still works on it so i use other music apps on it also.

Ok, I can not complain or denigh that the last year and a half has been , for me, a banner year as far as my acquisition of new guitars.

That being said,  I visited a shop  in downtown Everette on the way home. "Tommy's"  Not a huge shop, but man is it great! and maybe just a small feel of elitism in the air LOL, but the guys were very cool.

Well in my edge preference of keeping to a sub $400 price range, I found a used DEAN semi-hollow body with diamond type cut-outs that I do believe is my new GAS item.  ( I want it for Skeleton Bones,, and Dave has one from Gibson so...)

I should have taken a picture as Now I cant find it on the net.  Guess Im stopping again to play with it smile and take a picture.

Sorry for your loss Beamer.  Hopefully the reduction in stress from the hard stuff once all the estate stuff is dealt with will be a relief, though certainly your family will still miss the fun stuff.

Well, there is no Estate. had nothing to leave. We basically gave away the 5th wheel he lived in that was basically duck-taped together, (we did build a very nice porch for it)  and his son took the motorcycle and sold it for a couple thousand and paid some stuff, so we don't have anything there to settle.

Well my Chordie family,

There are a few of you who I have talked of my father in law with. about our Love Hate relationship and how hard it has been to deal with the less notable aspects of him being in my life.

Last night about 1030 Washington time, My wife got the call that her father has passed.  just the day before  we had been told he had been to the hospital and had refused treatment.  The Hospice nurse only spent less than I think 8 hours with him, she said he rolled over and died in his sleep.

The last year has been a rough one for Bill, he went downhill very fast.
This is going to be very hard on my wife, , I am 2 sides of things here. The first side is I am glad he went quick and quiet.  The other side is a sense of relief that maybe my wife can finally live without worry over him.  She has been raising her father since she was 7 or so (her father in all truth was an adult child who had many issues and many wives and children yet never planned for his future, and by marriage I have had to deal with his bad choices my whole marriage and it has caused many a marital fights)
So as you see when I say love/ hate relationship, this is the stem of it.
He had his good and funny moments, and he helped our family where he could while I was away at sea, so for that I will remember in a good light.  He also really loved to Rock and Roll.  He was the grandpa who showed up in the kids pick up line blasting Megadeath and Type O Negitive and all the friends of the kids liked him also.  He was quick to smile and laugh and help a lot of people through their addictions as an AA sponsor.
As it turns out he will be moving on with one of the greats and that should make him happy.  So Bill, hang out with FATS and travel up Blueberry Hill one last time.

(CNN)- Antoine "Fats" Domino, a titan of early rock 'n' roll whose piano-based hits -- such as "Ain't That a Shame," "Blueberry Hill" and "Blue Monday" -- influenced artists including Paul McCartney and Randy Newman, died Tuesday, an official said.
Domino passed away due to natural causes, according to Mark Bone, chief investigator with the Jefferson Parish Medical Examiner's office in Louisiana. He was 89

What a loss. man all the greats are leaving us!

I made the first 30 min, gotta finish it.

Using a random 4 letters, pick a song /artist with 4 of these letters in it.  5his link will do it for us https://randomwordgenerator.com/single-letter.php

This will indeed make it more interesting.   I just said 4 randomly also. Lolol.

Ill join BGD, the berhinger pedals are built pretty good, and you can buy 2 or 3 for the price of a boss.  you can also pick up used Digitech RP 255 and have a ton of sounds at your disposal and very good preset reverb, chorus / reverb, chorus delay ect..  https://www.ebay.com/itm/DigiTech-RP255 … SwDmRZ45fU  heck for 150 to 175 this is my board and let me tell you its a beast and i just love it! https://www.ebay.com/p/DigiTech-RP500-M … 2690520807

Beamer Your vocals work perfect on this one. That acoustic fits like a hand in a glove. Out of everything of yours I have heard so far that is my favourite.

WOW ill have to do it all the way through, i kept messing up the second chorus!  and maybe do more like that style.

She used to be only in my dreams
A free spirit ,chasing cryptic schemes
beautifully awkward, out of  place
gorgeous chaos,  full of  grace

I agree that is a top notch sounding verse!  it rolls nice and sounds like something I would write after some heavy drink.

Beamer you got a good intro rift on that one. Add a bit of drums and bass to it after the intro  and your got it real good.

Thanks!  That really means a lot to me.  I think aside from my few signature songs i wrote in 85 to 87, this last 2 years has been very productive and my songs have improved.

I am going to record it direct to the computer through my RP so we dont get all the pick noise and I am going to try a drum loop just to keep time.  Then my son Cade said he could really add some stuff to it in his FL studio program.  I am going to ask his friend who plays piano really well (takes lessons) to fill in the gaps.
