Well, since you asked: smile   Take a look at the song as a whole, Jim.  I think you may need to explain the whole thing as a dream, because it would just be too fantastic any other way, don'tcha think? What I mean is, how many times do you think that happens in real life? I'd leave skid marks gettin' outta there screaming "FEMALE SEXUAL HARRASSMENT!!!"  were that to happen to me. If I were writing it, I might put "fair young maid" in there, but with the bus, you made it contemporary, so I don't know......

Maybe use the syllables in "fair young maid" and use something more fitting.

Another nice one, Jim! I would make one suggestion, however: Take the word "little" [girl] and substitute another word.

Grats, Mo!!!!  Nice name too!  I did a search on the name and found this:

==============================================

Zelie: Secret Botanical Name
Azélie-Marie Guerin was born in 1831 in a tiny French village. She considered religious life, but ultimately married.

She and Louis Martin raised a family, including the future Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. Therese is one of the most well-known and widely admired saints of the modern era. Her writings were published posthumously as Story of a Soul.

Both Monsieur and Madame Martin have been beatified, and will be canonized in October 2015, meaning that the Catholic Church will soon have a Saint Zelie.

Azelie is the French word for Azalea, making Zelie a subtle nature name.

Aha!!!! NOW I see what's going on here!!!! You and the "lovely" Dondra "Got a thang goin' on" (that's part of a song by the way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWOTdt9Bovk     and been "carryin' on" (as we say here in the "Deep South") over the telephone!!!!. You, Sir, are a CAD and as soon as I find my hankie, I will swat your cheek! smile smile smile

Thanks Roger for the "welcome back". It hasn't been an easy time for us and rather than b*t*chin and moaning about it here, my good friend Doug has my support if he wants to fill y'all in with a mail. I trust you guys implicitly, so no worries, okay?

Thank You Again!

Thanks very much, Zurf! I am sure I will enjoy playing my Les Paul Studio Epi through it, and when I can I'm gonna put a very nice pickup on Amy's guitar so I will be able to use the amp for it as well. Thanks again, my friend. Very kind of you! smile

.....as you know, most of my stuff starts off as a poem and then I need to figure out chords.

This one is about a becalmed sailboat stuck in the Sargasso Sea in what is known as "The Horse Latitudes". There;s hardly any wind there, if at all, and one can find (or could at one time) many derelicts just floating around. In short, you don't wanna get caught there if you were sailing in the 19th century with no engine.

My problem is I need to work on a part in it that even I know  would be inappropriate for this site. If you'll think about it, you'll figure it out for yourself. I will have to write around it or change the thing altogether.

I am trying to work Samuel Taylor Coleridge's  Rime Of The Ancient Mariner into it somehow without, of course, mentioning the title of the work. Maybe a reference to an albatross, I don't know. I'll work on it some more and clean it up --- y'all know how weird my work is, right? smile

Thanks

Say Fender's just manufactured a guitar, but in packing it, the guy scratches up the back or some other thing, so they "reject" it for shipping. Is there a place like that anywhere - where you can buy damaged guitars cheaply?

Thanks

Thanks, my friends. And Easybeat, I'm already working on Peatle's mail.

Good to see y'all. I'll catch up as soon as I can, but for right now, just a quick message to our Tigger  smile : I hope you are keeping those wonderful songs of yours (especially the last one you worked up about your little one - that one made me "rain" and I love it!) in a BINDER of some kind or will have them printed into a book at some point because those tunes are legacy stuff.

........ It's from a documentary film by the great John Pilger. I bet many of you will recognize it. I believe this is the original.

I won't waste anyone's time with lame excuses and just humbly ask: 'Can we start over, please?'

No answer to my e-mail. If someone knows it, could you send me a quick e-mail, please? I haven't been able to receive any mails all day today. It has something to do with partnering up with PayPal, but I don't know what.

Thanks and hope y'all find the "Hot Rod Lincoln" soon!

I'm here - just not back.  My issues are with administration, not any of the rest of you. In order not to single anyone out with communications (compliments and the like) I decided to just quit the site altogether.

Best of luck to all of you and we continue to send our love and respect.

Happy New Year, everyone! smile

To answer your question, Amy, although he wrote the song about his sweet wife Linda, Paul McCartney wrote and recorded a tune called (It's Just) "Another Day") which pretty much describes yesterday...... wink

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Sweetie! smile

PS: For you fellow-gamers, the PC version of Monopoly is available from Steam for $4.99 now. Between posting here and watching some documentaries from YT, that's what else I did yesterday! smile

Ah!  I am happy to know you agree and I'm looking forward to playing with my new toy! smile Thanks also for the explanation. I thought it was an either/or thing: condenser vs. USB, smile

Thank you, my friend, and thanks very much for all the tech help this year as you unselfishly spent s lot of time on the phone with me helping me with my tech problems! I copied your instructions above and saved them in my docs.

Give my best to "The Prettiest Girl On The Planet" and we'll see ya next year. wink

Especially switching from G to D7. Arthritic, fat fingers.

Whatcha think?

Thanks

Bill

ETA: Never mind. Wasn't staying behind my frets. Also, I need new glasses because when I look at the words and chord changes, my vision and a little bit of nerves makes me see other chords than the ones I'm supposed to play. Then there's the memory. Mine, not the computer's. smile  I am currently learning a song with only TWO chords, so that's okay. There are those "Adjustable Vision" glasses and I have ordered a pair.

But if there are more than three chords (and I haven't practiced in a long time) then it messes me up when I have to stop and place my fingers for the next chord - especially the dreaded B7 - and I'm looking for the book "Chords For Old Idiots" or something similar.

Also availing myself of the YT lessons.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks

Hey, Everyone

For my debut on SoundCloud last night - and not knowing any better - I used a pair of Arctic surround sound 'phones which I finally laid on my desk to record because I couldn't get rid of all the latency which caused me to sound like an embicile because of the lag. smile

So if you heard that mess I left on SoundCloud, then you know my singing/playing/tech knowledge is zero. smile

Beamer linked me to some Audacity tutorial videos and one of the first ones I watched was on the type of mic I should get. I looked up the recommended "Blue Snowball" and my first question is condenser or usb?

The cost is good. Amazon has it for just under $50.00 USD which is okay with my best girl.

But then I got to thinking: "What am I gonna do about headphones now?"

Should I buy the set which normally comes with the Snowball (not included in the $50.00) or is there a way to continue using the gaming surround sound set?

That's it for the questions for now, but as y'all know, I'm always ready to accept the advice of my friends.

So whatcha think?

Thanks

Well, in College and some Community Theater only, but I couldn't do it now. My memory's getting to the point where I'd probably need cueing for every line. HA~

Sorry you have to work tonight, Phill. I know a great recipe for "Jello Shots" you can take to work with you. smile

People here in the American Deep South are really bad at understanding what you mean when you use the word "Thespian". I used it once on a morning radio program and I thought I was gonna "git run outta town, Boah!"...... smile You should have seen those phone lights start to blink as soon as that word came out of my mouth. wink

Also thanks from me and Ann, hope you got my reply which was meant to say Blwyddyn newydd dda; happy new year, but my tablet wouldn't let me say that it kept changing...so blinking annoying.

We did:). I had an Irish friend once who kept trying to wish me Slainte, but could never get it spelled quite right. smile I don't believe it had to do with Spell-Check, however. I think he may have been - as you British say - "In his cups"?

By the way, Phill... I hope you don't take offense when I use a British epithet or saying? It is always meant as a compliment and has to do with my love for the English language and its many nuances! Also, in my collegiate theater days, i had to learn the British dialect for the Agatha Christie mystery, Towards Zero in which I played "True" Thomas Royde. smile

I always like to recommend the short book Foxen In The Hen Hice by Richard Lederer for a hilarious interpretation of our language.

It was OUR pleasure, my friends. Madondra (she pretends to hate that name, which is a "take-off" of Madonna) and I worked on your cards together and it pleased her very much to get to know y'all a little better as I told her about all of you we could reach.

For those whom we didn't send a card, please know it wasn't intentional (we just didn't have everyone's e-mail) and we wish all of you all the best for the coming year and for all time!
