Thanks for not beating me up Tuba,
Old Doll wanted to see how I play it. I use this pattern alot on folks songs and I know the guitar experts are frowning on me. I Travis pick also in a couple of patterns but this is just something I just started doing many years ago and I can keep 4/4 time with it, but can't really tell folks what I am doing. Sometimes my thumb goes where it wants to.
Howdy Benson,
My dad played barn dances when I was a kid and my mom and the 4 kids danced and sometimes slept under the stage or wherever.
A couple songs he played

Hello Everyone,
Old Doll and I have been exchanging songs lately and this is one I thought she should do. She wanted me to do a closeup video of how I play it so here it is. I am sorry I can't explain what I am doing better but hopefully you can read my hands. No I don't have a middle thumb like the vid says
Sorry I forgot the lyrics toward the end

Russell, You The Man
I gave it a listen and was hoping you would come to rescue, I woulda been pullin the few grey hairs I have left, gettin it down.
Welcome to forum Pastor, our friend Russell has a great ear and plays a mean guitar and bass
Please don't give up on Epiphone because of my opinion of the PR5E. I believe their Masterbilt series of guitars are one of the best values out there they are solid wood and have wonderful tone. I bought a DR 500 MNS that is just a gorgeous sounding guitar plugged or unplugged. These guitars stack up well against guitars priced 3 and 4 times as much. I paid $500 for the DR500
Ok It's Firday
Here's a new dude to the forum I've seen Corey Stevens a couple times and this dude can play !

Hello Bimmam,
My daughter purchased a PR-5E new and had it for a short while. The action was ok and it played fine. This guitar doesn't project well and is very weak unless plugged in. She traded hers for a takamine about the same size it's a G series EG 440 I believe and it is a much better guitar and better electronics.
I have my fingers crossed and I'm sending good vibes your way Tops
I feel for you guys,
It is tough here too, I have been working on and off but this year I have worked about 30 % of what I normally do. Gives me more time to work on my "Cowboy Chords"
Thank You to Pix for the term "Cowboy Chords"
Hey Thanks Everyone,
I have decided I might as well bite the bullet $ 149 is pretty small potatoes compared to some of the dumb things I have purchased.
Thanks,
Kap you are so right, that songs kinda like a rap song. I was using cue cards. Lena just sent it to me yesterday that's a whole lotta words for an old fellar, to member.
Old Doll,
Introduced me to a song by Mary Gauthier "The Last of the Hobo Kings" and suggested I do a cover so I downloaded it from I-Tunes and listened to it many times, and gave it a try. I hope I didn't stray too far from the original.

Thank You ,

I have been looking at a Yamaha Audiogram 6 packaged with Cubase AI and wondering if it is going to be a lot better than what I am using.
I have been coming out the RCA plugs on the back of a nonpowered mixer into my pc mic input and using Audacity. The music store guys say it will be lots better. They are in the business of selling equipment and I have lots of stuff now that I really didn't need. I am thinking it does nearly the same thing only uses firewire or a USB port instead of the RCA to 1/8'' plug.
Thanks Wayne
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it is a E BM A progression throughtout except where it goes
(Bm) The Last of the Hobo (E) Kings (Bm) The Last of the Hobo (E) Kings.
I couldn't find tabs so I will give this a try
I don't play a lot of songs in the key of E and was taken at what a beautiful chord this is fingerpicked !
Lena,
I will listen to it at least a 1,000 times and then I will give it my best shot. I am also working on another that I would like your opinion I will post them when i have them done and let you know.
Seems I have to get them burned into my memory banks so I can play them without thinking about it while playing.
Crevs,
I am proud of you young man. You are doing great ! If you purchase a video camera, look for one with a mic input. You can get much better audio.
I am still experimenting with recording but the best audio I have done is by playing into my acoustic amp with guitar and vocals. Then I have a condensor mic placed about a foot away from the amp. I run the condensor mic into a peavey mixer and from the mixer I go out the back from the 2 rca plugs into my computer. If you video at the same time you will have to add the audio track to your video. I use Roxio Easy Media Creator 10. This equipment can be expensive though.
If you have an amp, you can run your line out the back of your amp into a video camera mic in and get pretty good audio also.
You can also plug a mic into your video camera and mic your amp, it takes a lot of trys to get this one right.
I was working on my 3 chords and 3 songs
A few years ago my wife and friends went out to a local bar for a costume party. I told them to go and have a good time I was just gonna stay home. I had bought a Elvis wig and Shades a few weeks prior. I dyed my grey hair so it wasn't sticking out beneath the wig and went to my sister's to borrow my father's old Harmony guitar and used a long pink shoe string for a guitar strap. Put on my black attire with a black motorcycle jacket with a sequined scarf and one of my wife's gold necklace's and crashed the party:)
Song of the night, " That's alright Moma"
Line of the Night " Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Very Much"
It was one of my more memorable Halloweens,:)
Here's Some Blue's
I love Clapton's tone, some think he's no bluesman I disagree

I play a intro solo and if you like this song I could tab the solo I do or make a video.
Pix,
I practice my christmas songs year round but I find alot of them are difficult to play as most were composed for or on piano. I have a list I play that aren't real difficult to play tho. I will dig them up and post them. I was hoping to do a few christmas gigs again but looks like I have a big job out of town Thanksgiving till just before christmas.
I need the work but I sure will miss playing through the holidays.
Good One Tuba,
For the non boaters a short shaft is 15'' a long is 20'' and the XL is 25'' this refers to the distance from the top of the transom to bottom of the boat. You match your Big Johnson to your transom height
Heya Kenny,
I had forgotten this song till you reminded me of it a while back. I have some friends that have a cover version of it and it was played on our local radio station saturday. I am trying to get copy of it. I will post it when I get it. I am working on a version now also.
" And her ways were free and it seemed to me, the sunshine walked beside her."
I think one of the coolest lines ever written
