Mojo
I quite agree with Peatle, it's your unique style man !
I listened a couple more times today - really top notch performance.
Jim
to be honest- after just listening to Mojo's new post " Twisting in the wind" this pales - but I will post anyways.
I will let you guess as to what it is about if you wish.
Mojo
In my humble opinion - this could be a top 10 country song.
i think your best song.
Fantastic !!
Can you post the lyrics and chords here ?
you've got some talent my friend.
Wow - Just Wow !!
Jim
Nice one Peatle.
Giving people to have a voice is crucial. Even by voting and not getting your candidate to win still exercises a fundamental human right.
Like the perspective Peatle !
Jim
Phill
That left me speechless.
I cannot imagine the anguish of the moment.
So glad you found Ann - she ,ust be amazing to get you past something lake that.
Jim
I liked it to. I think it has potential for a song
AS i was listening I had a coupe scene's pop in my head and a line or two.
I kept waiting for a change for like a chorus or something.
Sounded really good Scott and SonBream !
Jim
Beamer
Excuse my lack of knowledge
Do basses usually have 4 strings ?
Is playing a five string guitar harder ? What are the advantages of such a guitar?
Cool looking axe .
Jim
Mojo,
You playing alphabet soup chords and gigantic ranges of of vocals, even hammered, is 1000 % better than me playing and singing one chord and a nursery rhyme
Just saying
Jim
I changed the lyrics, chords and how it's played.
Peatle,
As usual, Phill sounds great. Peatle - what a beautiful story ! Congratulations to you and Maree !
Cheers many times over !
Jim
For me it would be Dylan
Phill
that's the easy way out - you can only pick one Who would it be?
you guys are all brilliant in your poems
pretty awesome boys !
surprised there wasn't a pickle thrown in the rhyme somewhere
Peatle - Very well done ! I especially like the song at the end - beautiful and heartfelt. Jim
interesting lyrics there Beamer
reminds me of Shakespeare's As You Like It:
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;
His youthful hose, well sav’d, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice,
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion;
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.
your words mean the same to me - but an easier read.
I look forward to your rendition of it in song
Jim
Peatle
So heartfelt with raw emotion. He would be so fortunate to call you a friend.
Hopefully we will all meet someday.
That was a fine tribute.
Cheers to you and Malcom !
Jim
p.s. - I quite agree with Phill
Thanks fellas
Hard to pack more than a year's worth of emotions into one song
I appreciate the kind words.
Maybe someday I'll get around to attempt a recording.
Cheers to you all
Jim
Peatle
Yes 23 skidoo has a lot of meanings that kind of revolve around getting out of some place. some say it's used to also to quickly leave because it's dangerous.
My reference is just let's go - let's move on from covid
Their is actually a lot of controversy as to how it came about - many claiming fame to it's origin.
John Prine is amazing- as a song writer and as a performer. He was in the military and worked as a mailman for 6 years before he got his break.
LOL the cigarette- he is also chewing gum !
Sure wish I could have hung out with him for just a couple of hours, it would've been unforgettable I'm sure.
That would be a good chordie question - If you could spend an evening hanging out with any musician past or present - who would it be ?
Thanks for taking a look
Cheers
Jim
I listened to John Prine yesterday and one my faves of his is " Jesus: The Missing years"
It is brilliant.
So I got the Idea to pay tribute to him since he passed away due to covid related circumstances.
I would suggest listening to his song @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suoJ6mLVBlU before your try to figure mine out.
These are my words and chords ( well actually - his chords )
Probably needs work but I'm tired
and I also got my second dose of the Vaccine today !!!
Graham
