That song is like Amazing Grace. Beautiful no matter who sings it.
(Not trying to hi jack Pastor's thread) but my favorite of all the many ways I have heard Amazing Grace performed was in 1980. I was working for the local highway department and we were in the process of widening a dirt road for paving. I operated a rubber tired excavator and was first on the work site. It was a beautiful summer morning in the hills of North West Louisiana. I was slouched down in the drivers seat with the engine off and my feet sticking through the drivers door window. The door was open. Low and behold this elderly grey haired black lady came out of her house and headed for the garden with bucket in hand. She began singing and it was just beautiful. No music other than her voice and a certain amount of echo produced by the area. I'll never forget.

I appreciate you Russ. I would rather see my Moderators a little over cautious than non caring.

Very nice!
I don't have a My Space or U -tube account but I was wondering
Is it OK to do covers of popular or current songs on these sites without getting into trouble? I had the impression it was Taboo but I know a lot of them are posted on there.
I had a couple of things posted on another site but after reading some negative info I got scared and deleted them.

On a lighter note, if it blows you could always play Marty Robbins "Don't Worry Bout ME" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVTKeVhN1Bc
Check at 1:26 into song.

Re: Song Request Search (29 replies, posted in Song requests)
Hi Pastor,
When I am hunting a song, I'll look under "SONGS" tab just above the dark blue line at top of this page. After you click "SONGS" it will open a page with the letters of the alphabet. In your case you would look under Whi which should open up songs with titles beginning with Whisper.
If you know the Singer (Which You do) look under "ARTISTS" and some times this makes the process faster. This is the way I search Chordie.Sadly I have done both looking for your song and have not found it. I even went to the singers web site and found a short clip of part of the song but no Chords anywhere. I hope you find it. AL

No not the kind of exercise where you have to get out of your chair. Songs that exercise your fingers and get you limbered up with quick chord changes.
I like to do Fairest Lord Jesus. It gets my fingers working even though it's not a fast song.
I also like Proud Mary. These songs are probably easy for most of you but remember. My forum name was going to be Fumble Fingers till I found out it was already used.
Anyone else have a warm up song or songs?
PS Welcome to all the newcomers.Good to hear from you.

After I find a song I would like to sing I have to get it in a key that suits my range.

Pix you can find and listen to all types of Christian music midi files on this site. Scroll down past the medleys and pick the type song you want. The chords are not posted but I bet if you hear the song you can put chords to it. If you have a particular standard Hymn in mind let me know. I may already have them.

Tony I am basicly a novice but since I joined chordie I have been learning. One thing I have learned from the recording thread is that our voices often sound better to other people than they do to us. You may not need as much effects as you think.

Thank you very much but I don't think I should have to share since the question was "What is it" not "Where to find a Picture of it"!
Now I am going to take it and run before some Rap Star(?) comes and takes it and gives it Beonce or whoever.
This is all said in fun and if you didn't see the award show you have no idea what I am talking about. Have a gooden. AL

I recently purchased his "Acquired Taste" album and I love it!
Delbert has a raspy, bluesy sound which I like but he and his fellow writers are genius in their choice of words and story lines. I particularly like "Wouldn't You Think She Would Have Been Here By Now" on this album but I don't have a link to share it. Anyone else like Delbert?

Re: I met a nice man yesterday (17 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Went back and got my Epiphone this afternoon (Yes, open from 1- 5 on Sundays).
Fixed the hole where the screw as, raised the fret board (the top had a slight raising problem), changed out the eighth fret (was odd ball),replaced cracked saddle, installed bone type bridge which has a shim under it in case I want to get strings a little closer to frets, new (lighter) strings (not sure of brand) and adjusted and tuned.(Darn, that makes my guitar sound like it was a piece of junk)! Any way, all that for $60 bucks. IT PLAYS GREAT!
Selso---- The upright bass is $495 and you get a lifetime (maybe)supply of strings. Four rolls of weed eater string. That is what it is strung with and the gentleman said is tunes up great. I had to take his word for that.
SouthPaw----The original Toilet seat Guitar(made by him) was from a used toilet seat. It sold quickly and then other orders came in for more. He said about the time he was tired of making them some magazine (Texas Open Road?)came by and did a story on his business. The orders started again. told him it may start again since I posted his site on the greatest guitar spot going.
Old Doll----- The Silver haired man said to tell you thanks but hugs are only given out in person.

Thanks Badeye,
This was great. I just started messing with open D tuning a couple of days ago. It's fun and encouraging to learn new things. I would love to learn a simpler version of this song as I will never be good enough to do it like him. I'm over 66 and move to slow.
