Hi jody
I'm sorry to hear you have problems with voice etc.
As I was listening to your song I felt the spoken parts came through a lot more clearer than those that you were singing.
I just thought that perhaps you could do a sort of Leonard cohen type rendition where most of the song is spoken instead of being sung. As the narrative is the impotant thing in your songs being able to sing becomes secondary to getting your story over.
Anyway just my thoughts. smile
well done on a nice piece of writing.

Hi BOOGIEKING
You maybe right in what you say not knowing the song.
Chordie is a search engine which displays songs from other websites. Just above the song you will see "Important information" where it tells you the original website where this song was taken from. The mistake is there and NOT at Chordie.

Phill and Russ
Well done on another first rate collaboration.
Liked all the tracks in the mix and the finished piece. Importing and mixing tracks from different sources is not always easy to do but you guys seem to be getting it down well.

Hi C-rod91339
Welcome to Chordie.
Chordie is a search engine and displays songs from other websites only. You can add a song from another website on the resources section tabbed at top of the page.
I have added the song you are are after and hopefully it will appear in the future.

I think The Abbey Road studios are a National treasure and should be saved for the Nation preferably by the National Trust which do a great job in maintaining historical buildings in the UK.
I personally would like to see their money spent on this kind of building with so much modern musical history attached to it than another old castle or house.
They have done a good job in saving  Paul McCartney’s council house restoring it to how it looked in the 1950’s when he lived there.
Perhaps they could do something similar with Abbey Road restoring it to way the studio looked in the Beatle era when they were recording.
I'm sure they would get plenty of visitors willing to pay.
As to who has the money to buy the place and who should well I'm not really sure the rights and wrongs of it all.

hi ark, maybe you could re-title it; "what to do on a beach in northern france while waiting for the boat home"?

i haven't seen the film, but now i've heard your music, i'm certainly going to look-out for it, though i dont expect the movie score to be as good as yours.

phill

Hi Phill
The title Atonement is a bit misleading. smile

"what to do on a beach in northern france while waiting for the boat home"?  I like it quite catchy smile
Strangely the film is not about war as such just the consequences of a child's lie well worth a watch.
Thanks for comment.

Beautiful Ark as always.

I've just finished  reading a book here. This lady with  her soldier husband visited Normandy while on holidays
some years ago. While there she said " The sky appeared to open revealing thousands of tiny glowing orbs. The sound around her
changed to American and Canadian voices mainly. Francesca would be known for her psychic abilites.  I thought it was a much nicer image to maintain then the one we have become used to.

Be the gentleman that you are and send Old Doll mp3, I'd also like your January snow.

Thanks Ark.

Old Doll.

Normandy, Dunkirk and all battlefield where there has been a great loss of life must have an aura of some kind.
I do believe some people can perceive this and interpret it their in different ways.
Will send both MP3 no problem..
Thanks for the comment old doll

Hi Ark,

Nice work on this piece. The beach head at Dunkirk must have seemed pretty surreal at that time and I think your slant musically wise hit the nail on the head.

Great imagination and mix as usual. big_smile

Kenny

Thanks Kenny I think the surreal quality of the scene is what really stood out for me.

Hi jody
Well done for getting up in front of the camera and giving it go.
A liked the ballard with a message with a folky country feel.
If you use this link

it will take you to your Utube channel where all your songs are.
You could add it to you profile so it would appear under your id and email.

Hi all
I really enjoyed the film Atonement and the Dunkirk scene really suck in my mind about five minutes of unbroken filming. The scene captures the beach with it's madness and disorganisation of a broken army.
The original music was first class and this is just my slant music wise on a memorable scene.
I've had mixed reviews..
Mixed with Magix software
see what you think

The scene does contain some mild violence....
Thanks for reading/listening/watching smile

Hi Phill
I think most song writers touch on the subject of war at some time and I guess most are anti.
You gotta be mad to be pro. This would be the consensus of most of mankind and yet...
Wars are strange now no clear enemy it seems to me no real right or wrong just mankind (leaders religious and politcal) holding on to the most pathetic concept that war is answer to the worlds problems.
Lyrics and music up to your usual high standard.
Well done

We take the winter Olympics really seriously here in the Uk. Our female bob sleigh team has made the headlines for their unique ventilated body suits. Which gives them a slight edge when  taking off at the start.

2.  I'm a pretty good typist as I sit in front of a computer keyboard all day....there is a raised ridge on the F and J keys so I always know my fingers are in the correct position without looking at the keyboard, so I type without ever looking at the keyboard, which greatly improves speed.  Is there any such convention on the guitar so that you always know what fret your fingers are over without staring at the guitar neck constantly?

HI njdoxie
Welcome to Chordie..
Newbies mostly always think they will always have to look at the fretboard to see if their fingers are in the correct position for a given chord. At first you will and it’s normal with anything that’s new and unfamiliar. With practice though your fingers will find the chord shapes without you having to constantly look at the strings and fretboard. You will probably think it won’t be possible at first but believe me it will happen given time and plenty of practice.
As been said there's no "home base" chord that I know of. Just the basic open chords which are usually learned at the start.
Good luck on your guitar journey
