I played this at my first CHORDIESTOCK.  Having fun with  a whole circle of ppl playing along. I was taken back! It was amazing and for the second half of the song, I don't even remember singing or hearing my self.  The whole London Bus Pub  porch applauded and Top Down and Zurf were in my face excited like "OH MY GOD WHERE DID THAT VOICE COME FROM?"  To this day I wish I could find it again and I keep trying to.

Sounds pretty good!! What sort of set up are you using ... I'm trying to get mine as simple as possible ... smile

But I'm missing being able to add FX to guitar and vocals ....

Hey Neo, thanks for the support!

As far as my set up its pretty much as simple as it gets.  There were some rough spots to figure out. so here it is.

Finding a good recording program for my webcam:  After trying out my VLC media player capture, I was not happy with the way it worked out.  The search was back on and I found some great FREEWARE.  Debut from NHC home freeware version. http://www.nchsoftware.com/capture/index.html

My mic is a Berhinger C1-U usb  mic right into the computer.

The Effect, well thats the Tak plugged into the RP500 with a model I made with a Tube Screamer 808 and a phaser.   I played around with Mic placement and amp volume to attain the mix of acoustic guitar and amp signal.  My voice was straight as the one Mic was picking up everything.

I would have to be able to Isolate my voice to add effects to it.  most of the time I run a vox mic to my PA cab and have it plugged into my 2 stomp boxes for compression and delay.

If you want easy vocal effects this is pretty much the way to do it.  sometimes I use a RP70 with the stock reverb delay setting  as mic> RP unit> amp  or  mic>compressor>delay> amp  and then adjust volume levels no matter which set up you choose. You gotta find that sweet spot.

Then again there is always the  item that has been on my  amazon wish list for a while,
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0039PPW60/_e … &psc=0

Run all mics to this and this to your computer. With on-board effects  you can dial in your vox on a channel and then cut out the effects to your  guitar.

So thats about it. smile  Hope this helps.

I think art by wood burner would be cool.

I finally had the nerve to publicly post to You Tube and Facebook more than just sound cloud.  There are a lot of you who have heard this in various forms and many times.  But I think this one is good with the effect of how the guitar recorded, which is what I was shooting for.

Thanks guys, NEO  the vids were all with the new stuff, the old stuff was in the sound-cloud, and looking at it again I don't know why it has that long silent gap. maybe the vocal didn't come through enough.

The difference between the first vid and second, in the first one there was compression, a hint of chorus, and reverb.  In the second it was just guitar  to amp.

I am glad you liked it NEO,   Especially for something that was like no thought  involved and sort of ripping off Silverchair LOL.

Well I posted my fun with octaves in the my band and me,   but that is with the new amp guts put in. I made a B4 audio but its just too long as I was doing 3 different guitars, I need to clip to just the LP and and then Ill add an after.

I uploaded them to the Guitar Zoom  page but for some reason they will not share to my wall.  So I will add them to YT tonight after work.

Cheers!

I replaced my tubes and speaker yesterday and was having some fun.  so here it is.  Oh I wanted to mention that this is using my sons AXL Strat, which we gutted the wimpy stock pickups on and the  bridge is a single coil size hot rails humbucker from GFS and the middle and neck are the Brighton rocks like I put in Betty.  The difference being that the middle pick-up is wired out of phase with the bridge pick up in the second position. and that is the selection for this.

Beamer Buddy !!  I did not utter those words in way of recommendation..... I know exactly what you mean.  I had a recall on some Motorhomes with bad film graphics that we needed to replace with paint, and an owner who had mopped Armor-All over the entire coach annually (so his tapes wouldn't fade).  You can guess the rest I'm sure..... everything had to be stripped of all graphics, sanded, solvent washed (several times), soap and steam cleaned, then fully sealed and reprimed.  There wasn't enough fish-eye-eliminator to get anything but HP100 to stick to the prepped surface, then all the rest could be redone.  The replacement film graphics cost about $125 plus labor & prep...... The full repaint almost $30K !!!

Lesson Learned.  big_smile

I doubt he learned. probably blamed the decal company and bad mouthed you.  Some ppl just dont want to listen to truth OR that the "back in the day" method has taken a light year leap of technique and products.  smile

I use Car Wax on one of my guitars regularly. Being an old car guy, my go to products are typically from Meguiars.

Of course, that guitar is my CA - completely made out of Carbon Fiber.

I bet beamer could put a real nice polish on that one - next time he makes it to chordiestock!

would love to, and when I do make it I am bringing  My polisher  since now I have enough backups that i dont have to worry about a broken one.

LOLOL and I just bought a 2 pound bread machine for my wife this year.  Hand in the air she asked for one. (and a dbl waffle maker) LOL

Next on the list is a micro 4X8 half stack smile By raping the V5 of its new speaker and buying 3 more (@ 30 bucks a pop its more than affordable) Celestion's, I can make a nice cab, and then taking a saw to the V5 box, I can fit it into a nice looking head.  I will rename it as I did my Berhinger into a Triumph amp.  I have another tank badge I can use smile

Nice!!!

Great choice to go with EL34's instead their "swap-able" counterparts (6L6's). EL34's break up nicer (IMHO) to get that fat & crunchy Marshall tone, whereas 6L6's tend to have a bit more sparkle and twang. Does your amp self-bias, or are the tubes pre-biased for it?

Happy NTD, Beamer!

From everything I learned, with only 1 pre amp tube and 1 power tube,  there is no need to worry about biasing (even the amp guy in the above listed  vid mentions that and i think I can trust him lol)

Armor All contains Silicone wax, which is great for plastics and vinyl, but never put it on your motorcycle seat (!) or under hard braking you might just wind up sitting on the fuel cap.  Another in that family of spray on products is this stuff called Protect- All... if you can find it, contains Carnuba and Monton waxes and an additional UV Inhibitor (without polishing abrasives).  Usually available from RV and Marine supply stores.  Pump spray, aerosol can, and in bottles, easy to apply and easy to buff by hand with long lasting protection for almost any surface including wood, leather, fiberglass, rubber, chrome, vinyl and paint.  I've used that as well on guitars with good results and almost as easy as that old favorite (gasp!!) Pledge.  Please don't laugh (I did), when it was recommended by a guitar salesperson at a "big box" retailer..... it's better than nothing. big_smile

Doug you just said the 2 most dirty words a detailer has to hear.  Armor All .   Please cease and desist from any usage of that vile substance.  No matter what is listed in it, it will degrade all surfaces its put on, and it will crack  them over time.   it is a royal pain in the ( ! ) to remove and clean off to properly condition leather and  vinyl.   just cause its shiny dont make it good.

The Pledge is not a bad suggestion for guitars, just don't get it on the fret board.  You can use Old English,  its lemon and mineral oil.  both of which are fine for fret boards.

Sorry but the detailer in me could not hold back any longer.

Doug_Smith wrote:

But it should be noted that many car products also contain ultra fine polishing abrasives to remove surface scratches

This is where you HAVE TO READ THE  PRODUCT LABEL.  smile   What you are referring to is a "Cleaning Wax"  Pure Caranuba does not contain the silica's which provide the abrasives.  As I mentioned I use Sealants that are a combination of Natural waxes and Polymers.  A wax many don't know about is called Monton.  It's deep mined and has a higher resistance than caranuba.  One of my favorite products i s made this way. it is called POXY by HD car care (amazon sells it.)  and if you do have a bit of pick scratching  and what not , their product called SPEED cleans up the surface very nice.   If all you are doing is by hand, even with a thin french coat, you would have to really work the _____ out of it to do damage.  Most damage is due to improper use of a buffer.  The pictured guitar has a product called KNOCKOUT by Greenways  car care. it is a Polymer based sealant.  (As a note, Meguiars yellow wax is a real pain to remove, so stay away from it)

Bill as long as the finish is not a natural finish, car wax is very good. guitars have enamels or urethane,  so the car wax is great and last longer, shines brighter.  This is a picture of my TAK after using my detailing one step (light correction, polish and sealant- A polymer wax directive) Product.  sorry its so big that's how it is saved on FB. but you really see how great the auto line can be.  At home I suggest a nice product like Surf City Garage hand mixed liquid caranuba wax,   (its easier to work with  than paste wax.  just tape off your wood.  I tape the bridge off flat around it and then lemon oil it, then put the tape on its knife edge around the bridge and the frets and use my car stuff.  I have a 3" buffer  but by hand with a nice microfiber applicator and nice towels to remove will be great also.

THANKS GUYS,
- Well as always TF I find this out AFTER I pay LOL.   I'm not worried the 8 inch Celestion was only 30 bucks. the JJ power tube was 13 (and Musicians friend has the 17% off sale right now)  and the MESA was 25 so  +/- $60 is not a bad  investment.

- Blue Jeep  I found a page with a guy hot rodded the V5 and can make it a 10 Watt, but hell after all his mods  and the cost, I could just buy a high out put Black star! LOL
