Hi paul,the few chords you know can be put too hundreds or more songs, i was a little lost in the beginning also. Afriend of mine showed me how he did what I say by ray charles,he also said I needed to keep the tempo up and told me that the rests  are important also,so I bought the record and listend too it.It worked!! Try some buddy holly,neil diamond,or credence clearwater revival. Most of their tunes are afew simple chords. We all have these struggles as we reach musical blocks,and it seems like we can not go any further. Do not give up,it will come too you. I forgot too mention make sure your guitar is in TUNE!!        dino

Thank you all for your replies,and yes it does feel like I reached home on the net. As for where I have been Ibought the new home ( new too me) ,so I have been doing alot of reparing painting etc. Then my computer broke down so it has been along road back. I have actually lost most of the callous on my fingertips!!.shame on the mess!! But now I can relax and do what I love play guitar and talk too all of you.     dino48

Thanks russell,I appreciate your reply.I did not have too have it fixed though as I took it too the local music store too see what they knew and the guy who works there wanted too buy it,so I got $350.00 for it. I still have my yamaha keyboard. Now I can put some of that money away for a better guitar.

I pulled my korg midi 1 out too play last night and it will only play the piano portion,the joystick will not work and the read out above the keyboard says low battery.I have not played it for about three months now. can I change the battery myself,and load in the music from the midi cards I got with it,or do i have too send it off too have it done. sorry to be asking about piano/synthysers here but my wallet is not full at this time. Any help would be appreciated.           dino

I really enloyed that russell,you are a very talanted person. Also pretty lucky too have seen and meat lenny bruce. I was lucky one time I got too meet and help a little when Jimmy Reed came too a local club here in california. It was in the late sixties or early seventys. He died a couple of months later.                   dino

I woke up and found all my parts still in proper working order,thats always good news. I did hear on the news that the beatles Paul macartney is tryng too release a song that they did some forty odd years ago,and has not been heard by the public. Hi TFOX ,I dont know any online links but you might try a music store,they will usually carry books for chords. The O means play open[not fingered],the X means that string is not too be played.When you see a chord with six dots it usally means it is a bar chord,or you place one or more fingers across multiple strings. Hope that helped a little.             dino48
