Jeff your vocals are good on this song. With a band backing you and also backing vocals it would come out real good.

To me compared with politicians Queen Elizabeth is solid as a rock.

                   Londinium

While the cogs of  Big Ben tick away.

All  dressed up in our best jeans.

Singing some good old oldies from our teens.

There sitting on a high horse with barking  Corgis .

A wolf and a posh growl.

A nay and a bite of hay.

A bucking horse.

A Buckingham sandwich.

Raising our wine glasses.

Nothing surpasses.

With our guest passes.

A song with the Queen.

No time for drunken PM.

Anytime am or pm.

Just me and the Queen.

Singing a tune.

Nearby early morning birds sending tweets.

Flying high upper class.

Downing Street party glass.

Don’t give a damn about everyday people.

Around the corner under Saint Paul’s steeple.

The man in the pulpit yells God Bless the Queen.

Solid as a rock.

A trustworthy Queen.

Before the early morning  tower Raven crows.

Rushes of good and bad blood flood the political heart.

Beside the Thames after a Beefeater and vegetarian breakfast.

The late night denier.

With last night’s alcohol breath.

On his Westminster stage

Faced with rage.

An untrustworthy sage.

Survives another day.

Here`s another quick (and I mean quick)  recording I did this afternoon in between housework lol, a few little mistakes in it but just recorded on a break before starting the vacuuming (anything to delay the vacuuming *sigh*).  I didnt muck around re-recording as got to much to do today.  It has the word MAN in it.

Eb no doubt with all the talent on chordie you could collaborate with someone and  turn this poem  into a song  by honing it ,  It could be a start to a good story also as there is a lot of mystery here with after being wounded by his own side why wasn't his wounds attended too by them. I guess this  poem is set in a historical setting.?

Cheers Trevor I often thought that working as a tree surgeon would be  a very satisfying job though sad as you say when you can't save an old tree that took years to grow.

Easy beat for people not from New Zealand it can be confusing knowing when locals speak are we talking about weather or wether. Now I suggest to overseas people if in a Kiwi bar  with baa flies or sheepish personalities that the subject of  turning an up and coming ram into a wether  could be a very delicate or controversial topic. To give you an idea of the average Kiwi psyche   unless they are vegan or vegetarian in Spring all these baby lambs appear in paddocks all over the country. Overseas visitors and none meat eaters look at these lambs and think wow what cute looking animals where as the New Zealanders see Spring lambs as tasty or delicious creatures. So for some advocates the fact a male sheep known as a wether who has had his breeding potential taken away from him is  a subject that can cause deep division among the wether people and the none wether people. So warning if visiting NZ think carefully about that word weather or is it wether. Its all about whether you want to support one side or the other or maybe sit on the fence at the edge of a paddock and enjoy some New Zealand scenery.

Peatle, you can post as many as you like each month, no restrictions smile  I like the lyrics in this one, very contemplative, reflection, thoughtful.  Is that your good lady on piano?

Cheers Jan. That is me playing piano on that one. If Maree had played on that the piano would have been far more better than what I can do. Maree has stopped playing the piano and I don't think she has played anything for about two years now.

Jim your lyrics cover it well the horrors of war and disregard for humanity. .All this to protect the evil powerful Russian leaders  zest to control many as possible.
Zurf and easybeat  thanks for your kind words on my second entry for this month.

I hope it is ok to put another song up this month. Easy beat Brian asked me to put this song up I composed called The Man At The Bar.

This   is  a song I put together called Ghost Phone Call. I wrote the lyrics around midnight at Easter when I was thinking about what to do on chordie  for this May. The song is a man reflecting in his head on a unexpected phone call from a lady that morning who he had been told had died. I tried to write it in a way that the listener can put all sorts of back stories to what had happened in this man and woman’s previous relationship. Also I wanted to create a sense of confusion and a haunted wondering the man has as to why this woman had decided to phone him  twenty years later after shooting through on him.

Peatle, it was a truely hauntlng song, you created that well.  I liked the way you had put it all together, I could hear the reflection in the tone and lyrics, well done.  I liked the echo/reverb too, it added to it smile

Cheers Jan I tried give it a reflective inside his head feel  thank you for taking the time to have a listen and comment..  smile

Jim that video is perfect for your wonderful song. I retired back in 2017 one thing that has surprised me is the demands on my time which has been good. A big challenge for me is figuring different ways to play guitar as my fingers are unable to do what they use to do. Chordie has helped motivate me to keep going with it. Though I must admit I don't always  look in on a regular basis but I try to check it out at least once a week. Part of this not been so regular at looking in on chordie  is I limit my computer time so I can get on with all the other things my family has lined up for me.

Hi Pedr. Sorry I've taken so long to reply. You've written and delivered a great melody and enhanced your vocal with a great video. Well done. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers thank you Piri. Normally Maree doesn't like my music much unless its a collaboration with someone more musical than me. This is the first time she has insisted that I put up something just by me.
