I think it's great to learn a piece of music note perfect but to mess around with it and make it your own is better. Jimi never played the same music twice and Dylan would alter chord sequence, timing etc, and really who in a wider audience would remember exactly how things go? So I think note perfect is good but to ad lib a bit is better

Should make a good holiday read. Does anyone have the ISBN.

Hi all, thanks for the welcome. Just a few words about myself.
I'm from Nottingham England, musically I'm rooted in the 60's but main influence is anything Neil Young. Also a complete technophobic so please don't expect any clever stuff. You'll catch me usually lurking around the songwriting and acoustic pages.
Bye for now, catch up with you all again soon.

Hi everybody,
After being a stalker on chordie for quite some time, downloading songs etc. I've finally decided its time to come out.
I've been a rustie for a great number of years (re Neil Young). And was wondering.
Is chordie a collective title for its followers, are we chordies ?

Jets. These are great lyrics, very topical. In my humble opinion a few slightl adjustments through  the verses to make it fit into a heavy 4/4 beat with a lead break before repeating C2.Then fade guitar to  Da Capo.
You'll have em rocking in the isles mate.

My advice would be, not to over think the lyics. Don't beat yourself up, just keep it simple and let the emotion come across in your voice.

I hav'nt heard this song so I have no idea how you wanted it to sound. So I just strummed away on my acustic guitar, then finger picked at the chorus real slow. It's a really powerfull ballard and the only problem I had was reading the lyrics when my eyes were welling up. Congratulations, a great piece of work
