Zguitar,
I think I am the guilty hijacker! I do apologize!
I just get to reading and something will remind me of a question I have and I get in a hurry. Sorry.

I have a radio on my headboard that I turn down very low if I have trouble sleeping. What about listening through head phones so you won't disturb the others?

And I bet she meant it!
Have a Happy New Year! It will be time to start preparing for the 101st birthday before you realize it.

I said I would post this update on a new thread but it fits  this one so here goes.
I took my guitar and Christmas music down to the local prison. My pastor went with me. I broke the ice with a Chuck Berry song
(not really Christmas) called My Ding a Ling. Then I did about 5 more traditional Christmas Carols. By the  time we got through with Silent Night about 25 or so were singing along. These same folks stood through the singing and the pastors message. You wouldn't believe the words of encouragement that followed. We were only there a little over an hour but what a blessing we received.

My son just purchased a Martin and gave me his Oscar Schmidt.
Right now I am using a karaoke machine for an amp.He said not to buy anything till after Christmas.
My question is "What is the Presence knob for?" I hear no difference in sound when I move it.

Way to go! I have never failed to be blessed for putting out a little effort for others.
I have a similar deal coming up on Christmas day. Will give report on another thread after the fact.

I too have not mastered the BM chord but for now I am using an abbreviated version with just the G B and  high E strings.

I told you I never win!
Congrats Linusguitar!

Thanks! I have a problem with strumming. I'll start a song and it's going pretty good. Then I come to a place where what I'm doing doesn't fit.
I'll try to give an example later. Got to get ready for Church. Thanks again for the patterns.

Thank you Pastor!  Beautiful indeed!  deadstring, I'm hoping that my new pup will eventually make a great therapy dog so that I can do just that with her.  In the mean time... perhaps I should seek out the nursing home residents to practice my guitar upon.  I imagine they wouldn't care too much if I'm not so good... just having a visit and a bit of music regardless of the ability would prolly make a world of difference either way.  THANK YOU for the suggestion!

Please give it a try and see if your not blessed by it! They appreciate the effort put forth. (Let us know how it goes.)

I would suggest to all! If you really want a blessing, grab a guitar and go to the nearest nursing home and speak to the directors. See if they won't agree to you doing a 30 minute program for the residents. It can be but does not have to be Gospel content. I promise you and they will receive a blessing. These folks have little to brighten their days.

deadstring, you should have walked over and told her.  It would have made her day, i'll bet.

I did but not at that very moment. I had many good talks with her before the job was complete. She eventually wound up in the nursing home and I had the privilege to sing and play for her and the others there before she went on to Glory.
