Hi Doc
I have magix software which have got a couple of drum and bass sequencers. I can't say I've used them much they look fairly difficult to master.
You may be able to download some trail magix software which would probably contain a sequencer in the download.
Magix usually restrict their trail download so your not able to save anything you produce to the hard drive.

Thank you guys!  I never realized how cruddy my speakers on my computer were until I got this thing.  Listening to the recording by plugging the included earbuds in sounds WAY better than my computer speakers.  The earbuds that were included sound WAY better than the earbuds I have for my cell phone.  So, they are good quality!  Just a suggestion to anyone who hasn't tried that yet (all recordings sound better, not just mine smile  ha ha).

Hi Amy
I think one of the best investments in recording and listening to to own stuff is a decent pair of headphones. I use them most of the time when I'm mixing tracks (Set at a reasonable volume)
They highlight the good and the bad in the recording and things that can be missed through speakers will be picked up through the headphones.
Just my two pence worth  smile

Hi Bass Viking
Thanks for posting.
The song certainly has a ring of truth about it as we get older I think we mostly tend to view events etc in a much more laid back fashion and are prone to bouts of senimentality. Well maybe that's just me. smile
Nice song
Well done

Kenny
Phill's willingness and ability to come up with and sing some great lyrics has really given my stuff a new dimension. "Cheers"

Hi geoaguiar
Glad you like the number.
Phill was just doing a little moonlighting. smile

Hi amy
Was interested  smile and had a listen....
Nicely done you have a very pleasant voice. The Zoom H2 records well and with Audacity to tweak around with gives decent quality to the sound.
Good job

Hi Ark and Phill,

Great song and recording but no more than I would expect from two veterans like yourselves. The playback was somewhat marred by a siren going off three times but it was from MySpace not in your recording. A great collaboration guys.

Ark, now that you are Moderating this section I have some bad news for you..............you will have to learn ChoPro lol

Roger

mmmm....ChoPro? ChoPro sorta rings a bell lol
Just me being lazy not a very good example I know sorry smile
Thanks for the comment Roger. I think MYspace is playing up this evening (Thats the UK)..

Hi all
I had this chord progression with overlying melody for a while. I worked it up into another instrumental which I sent to Phill to see if he was interested in putting together some lyrics and singing them. I said the music reminded me of the Caribbean. Well he was (interested) and he came up with these great lyrics which fitted almost exactly what I had in mind and he sang them his usual professional way. As for the title it’s just a name…..  smile

Phill also added some acoustic guitar.
See what you think

Chords
Verse Am7 E7 Dm7 Am7
Chorus Dm7 Am7 E7 Dm7

Coralina. Arkady/Phill.

How you fill my thoughts. When I'm far away.
Your the constant in my world of ever change.
Maybe something in, in the way you move.
How the breeze will take you, and it takes me too.
I call you; Coralina. My mistress of the Caribbean sea.
I touch you tender, my senses tingle.
Shall we catch the wind, just you and me?
(CHORUS).
Fill my heart...Coralina,long days in the sun, just you and me.
Fill my heart...Coralina, till the days are done, with you and me.
Sitting at my desk, I can picture you.
Beauty of the seas, against the twilight sky.
Work is something I, I must do for you.
Just to keep you, my love. I cant let you down.
I call you; Coralina. My mistress of the Caribbean sea.
I touch you tender, my senses tingle.
Shall we catch the wind, just you and me?
(REPEAT CHORUS). > SOLO OVER VERSE AND CHORUS)
Take the high seas, I know I'm safe with you.
Coralina, Princess of the seven seas.
Mistress of the winds, keeper of my heart.
How the breeze will take you, and it takes me too.
I call you; Coralina. My mistress of the Caribbean sea.
I touch you tender, my senses tingle.
Shall we catch the tide, just you and me?
(REPEAT CHORUS) >GUITAR BREAK TO FADE)

Hi all
Just saw another "Poll" which voted Led Zep's "Stairway to heaven" top rock track of all time. The Who's "Won't get fooled again was runner up.....
I must agree as being a Led Zep fan myself big_smile even if it's sort of looked down by some....
Who would you place at number one if you were voting...

Melody…Always the melody for me.
I can’t see how any song can be loved just for it’s words..
Well maybe punk but even that stuff has some sort of melody basically something to sing along to.
It’s human nature..

Hi wayne
Always used MP3 recorded at 128bit rate for my collabs. Reasonably sized files with not much loss of quality and email friendly.
wav files are huge and other types of sound files are not widely used now in the amateur world.
I've not encountered much trouble using them for mixing etc.

Hi flester
It's not advisable to do either of those two connections even if it was possible for many reasons.
Pop over to the recording forum and have a read of the many posts which cover recording to a computer..
The help you need will be there..

Hi doc
There is a device called Guitar wizard that I've seen advertised.
It says it helps people with Hand disabilities such as missing fingers, rheumatism, arthritis and others to strum etc.
Never used it myself but it might help you during this period.
Just goole it up and check it out..

Hi all
I did Warpath a few years back Phill heard it and thought the instrumental had potential for some vocals.
Well he came up with some great lyrics and recorded them with the original MP3 then mixed them together which in itself was no mean feat.
I'd lost the original mix so there was no way to alter the structure of the instrumental to suit Phill's vocals but all in all I think the vocals work well and this is down to Phill.
The recording can be heard

Lyrics..

Warpath.
High on the distant plains, brave rider comes.
Head held high his pride is great.
His name is spoken in, lodge of the mighty ones. His fame in battle won.
Lonely bird; eagle flying; patrols from up on high. When the time is right, suddenly strike.
Is today a good day to die?
(GUITAR PART) (4 bars)

Lowlands – hunters, trespass on his lands.
They must pay the price. No quarter given, none expected.
The victor will keep his life.
Arrows fly, the warrior dies in battle.
One brave hunter falls to the ground.
Wait for the answer, caught them unawares. More death as arrows fly.
(GUITAR PART) (4 bars)

Calls out, calls out.
His name drives fear to their hearts.
Some turn, some run. Those that stay will die.
Knives are drawn, battle joined. They fall one by one.
All alone now last man standing.
He returns to watch his lands. Eagle flying, last man standing.
He returns to watch his lands. Eagle flying, last man standing. He returns to watch his lands. Eagle flying, last man standing. He returns to watch his lands.
Calls out, calls out. His name drives fear to your heart.

I think the easiest and probably the best way to share an MP3 with an other person is through an email attachment. Done it many times for collabration purposes etc just have to watch the size.
If you want to share a piece you've done with the world then sign up as an artist on myspace or soundclick.
