Did you have a lot gas following the procedure?

I am, and from both ends, to the point where I am afraid to eat anything. It;'s REALLY umcomfortable. I am taking beano and Tums and I am walking around thumping my chest to get the gas to turn loose. This is AWFUL, y'all! Any tips?

Thanks

I'm a little late catching the "Welcome Train", but I too would like to add mine to the rest of the family's Marshel54. I believe you mentioned playing the banjo? Unless I am mistaken, we don't have too many banjo players in our midst, so hopefully you'll consider helping some of us along.

We're all very happy to have you aboard, Marshel! Don't be a stranger! smile

Thanks

Thanks, Phill!

Unfortunately,  what I have done in most of them is one or two lines and an "idea" of where I'd like the song to develop and "end". The song, "Sargasso" for instance is a "story" song and as is my  "habit" I have painted myself into a corner with my rhyming again. wink  I think I could really benefit from some kind of song-writing program. Maybe Jim could be of some assistance in that regard - he has really shown himself to be quite the wordsmith!

Also, I have so much going on at the moment, I can't even complete a thought let alone set one down on paper.

Thanks very much everyone for the support. I know to be grateful for it.

I will do it, easy. Give me a couple of days to pick one out and write a synopsis for you, okay?

Thanks, my friend!

GOOD Gosharoonie!!!! Those 15 watt amps are expensive, aren't they, guys?

I was "eavesdropping" in donnieclark's thread about home practice and thought to myself, "Well, he's talking about one of those $100.00 jobbies (I used to have a Fender "Band In A Box" amp which cost around that much), but when I went to the link, I got some schoolin' right upside my head. I do remember the warm "tube" sound and now I see you can get it from a $50.00 plug in. This is awesome.

So now I'm thinking, "why not ask the guys which is the really best and more economical 15 watt practice amp, and if you were to choose to do it, can you use that $50.00 gizmo pedal on that practice amp and still get that tube sound?"

Thanks

Dear Family

You know, I have so many "bits" of songs stored here on my machine. Sometimes I go back and finish and other times I forget they are there, so they languish in a file forever.

So I got to thinking: Why not get a like-minded Chordian to team up with me and try to get the tune written, tabbed and recorded (if possible)?

Here's the method behind my madness: I take one of my unfinished tunes, get in touch with my "partner" ]Tiglik, explain what I'm trying to convey with it, send it to him and see if he has any ideas (words) on how to finish it? Jim (or anyone) could do likewise and send his unfinished song to me and let ME work on it.

We can share writing credits and then finally get our work nailed down.

Could this work?

Thanks

Great tune, sir!

If one listens closely to the words about a third of the way through, you'll hear the singer make reference to "St.John The Conqueroo". Here's a treatise on what he means:

I thought this might interest you, my friends. smile

Here's what I wrote on SoundCloud:

" OMG!!!!! What a GREAT song, Jim! I keep saying it over and over: You are one of the most talented writers I know of this side of Lennon/McCartney!!! I don't know how you do it, but you keep surprising me and the other Chordians with your talent! Thanks for sharing it with us! ---- Your Bud ---- Bill"

VERY well done my friend! smile

Note to Russell: Y'all have posted a few more tunes on the Tube and I want to give them a listen too, asap. Just didn't  want you to think I'd forgotten the Buzz!  smile

Funny! Let me ask you about the Robert Hall, thing, Pete: Is that some kind of service that provides backing tracks for you to sing with? I looked them up on google, but only found a "Bob Hall". Same person?

Thanks

I wrote him a note and told him that was one of his VERY best vocals. Awesome, buddy!

I've been re-thinking the title, Phill.  While we use it here in the American South, "Knock-Kneed" may not be as prevalent as I suppose. Back to the drawing board and hoping I don't "paint myself into a corner!" smile

How about "My knees are knockin', my baby's rockin'" ?  Something along the lines of Jerry Lee Lewis?

Thanks to both of you!

Thanks again

Well, I TRIED to leave you a message on SoundCloud, easybeat, but for some reason and even though it says "3 comments" and doesn't show mine as one of the three, I can't see it, so I will write it here again.....

When I heard you play and talk, I got chill-bumps and you know what it means when I get chill-bumps, right? Yup! That means what I'm hearing is RIGHTEOUS! I would like to thank you as well for speaking of legacies and the unfairness of friends being taken from us too soon. That really got me in the heart.

As I told Doug a few nights ago in an e-mail. I'm still shaken from learning our friend had passed. STILL can't get used to it.

Thanks for that great work, my friend!

Do you know what I mean when I say I'm "knock-kneed"? Not sure if it's a term y'all use. We use it down South a lot.

Just in case, it's when a guy's real nervous in front of a girl, he's trying to meet. He's "knock-Kneed" (knees are knocking together, audible by using the drummer's wood block with a fast fill after the word "Kneed")

I'm working on a "Rockabilly" tune called that: "Knock-Kneed" and I've got it started and plan to finish it tomorrow and put it out there with chords and all.

Thanks

I don't have a smart phone (don't know how to work one), so that takes care of downloading the app, I guess. I'll check out the link.

Thanks you guys and if I may use an epithet from the 50's...... You guys are swell!

Thanks, guys.  TF: Heretofore (my favorite word smile ) I had been using a downloaded app for tuning, but I can sure see where that clip on tuner would work better. Especially if I'm not at home.

To expound a little more on the dilemma I mentioned above. One other problem I have is with knot-tying of the string after it passes through the nut. I have a bit of a tremor starting in my right hand and that makes it difficult for me to work with anything close-up So that was a problem as well.

Doug, that thing looks like a Swiss Army Knife, and I love those multi-tools, so I may spring for it.

Thanks Fellas

A couple of times now, I have busted the high E string on Amy's Guitar. Luckily, her husband Jim had included a set of extras. so at least I had a replacement.

I got it on there, but not without a lot of difficulty: Bad eyesight , which I hope to get fixed soon, and the trembling in my right hand made it hard to see my headstock key thingies. So I got it on there, and it is holding, but I kinda think a string winder might be better for me.

The string busted because I was tuning the high E too high and didn't realize it! smile\\

Have a great weekend, kids!

Thanks, flester, that's the one I chose and when this rotator cuff injury heals and I can strum again, that's the one I'll get. I'm told that those kinds of injuries take a long time to heal, but I'm working on it!
