wow if you can only afford so much it kind a limits the selection i could recomend a sioi standard it looks and plays like a fender stratocaster in fact you can hear it on all the electric tracks on my web page give a listen and see if you like this sound if not i paid $150.00 for it and it works for me

im not sure the wood has that much to do with electric as the sound is not dependant on the wood for resonating like in a accustic i think the quality of the pickups and circutry are the factor and the neck, frets.tunning keys and bridge not much left

it depends sometime how old the strings are and how hard you bend them every guitarist including myself has broken many strings,im speaking about professional musicians who play for a living be it recording or concerts, clubs ect..........

i would proceed with caution, unprotected by not having a cover might invite humidity or spilling a beverage on the copper coil, you could spray paint the cover with a flat black or gloss depending on the finish of the other two just take it off put it on some newspaper and spray it and allow it to dry who knows it might work out ok good luck

that little "L" thing is called a tremelo bar and if you push dowm on it the whole guitar lowers in pitch,by pushing down and pulling it up several times it creates a tremelo effect if its to stiff remove the plastic plate in back and take the middle spring off you might have to adjust the truss rod

andros67 wrote:

What? are you sure?and what about that little "L" shape peice of metal that hangs down from that bridgy thingy? he said it doesn't do anything and that we should disregard it? Please don't tell me he's got that wrong too!

i used to have a four track it was great i have upgraded to a BR8 and i use a Tascam cd rw700 to burn the mixed tracks to my pc files i dont have to do a lot of bouncing with 8 tracks to work with so i try to keep the arrangements simple
