Hey guys i`ve got the words, any idea for chords that may work with this?
`Sharing Christmas With You`
I`m happy i`ll being seeing you at Christmas
So glad that i`ll be seeing you again
I know santa will leave you some thing
Wrapped up and left beneath my Christmas tree
Christmas day i`ll be cooking in the kitchen
All the traditional food
in the traditional way
We`ll raise our glasses at the dinner table
to celebrate good fortune
on this christmas day
Looking forward to sharing
this christmas with you

So much appreciated, Peatle! Thanks, and Merry Christmas to yourself also. I'm sure I speak for the rest of the Chordie Universe, that we have all appreciated your music, your poetry, your humor, and the in-depth background you often provide us with about so much of the world's great music. You're truly deserving of "The Loremaster" title, and we're fortunate to have you among us.
Here Here,
Peatles a great bloke.

City Burning
Posturing on the world stage
While at home builds a rage
Ordinary citizens
on the street
complaining of
political elites
city burning
flames at night
block the roads
and protest
thousands of people
in yellow vest
tired of being
ignored and dismissed
nows their time
to resist
so called leaders
using force
head in sand
to this discourse
city burning
flames in the night

I love hearing new chordie songs, but i`m not so keen on people who don`t contribute
to chordie other than saying hey look i wrote a song have a listen to me.
I enjoy having a conversation with chordians.
Some generous chordians have given me support and i`m more than happy to support them back.
There`s some wonderful songs coming out of chordie,if you don`t bother i guess it`s your loss.
bye the way merry christmas

Was going to write a Christmas song, but it kinda ended up something different entirely.
I guess Christmas is a time to count our blessings,so after writing this song(about a friend)
if you are in good health thats a blessing. Maybe something we all to often take for granted.

Gidday Bill
Your first song was good, this one is not just a step forward, but several steps forward.
You`re coming to terms with recording and your confidence is growing.
As for advice, well who am i to offer advice? But all i can say is, do songs that work for you.
Try everything, but your favourite songs may not be the type of song that you do best.
rock on!

Re: What's YOUR Guitar-Playing "Block",........ (12 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Another great topic, Bill ... as always. My main block to playing more than I do is prioritizing, and unfortunately that puts playing guitar well down the list. I put everything in three columns mentally, to make sure important things don't get ignored:
1) Things I mustdo
Earning income, maintaining household, cars, etc., looking after my wife and family, eat, sleep, etc.2) Things I shoulddo
Visiting relatives or people in hospital, personal health stuff, church responsibilities, working on my next book, etc.3) Things I wantto do
Reading, fishing, kayaking, wood working, watching basketball & football (soccer), listening to music, and yes ... playing guitarsWhile this doesn't give me as much time to play as I'd like (or need) it does keep me hungry to play, which is always a good thing.

I see you mentioned about writing `another` book.Tell me more.
I`m very interested to hear about your writing,as i`m in awe of authors.

Thats very clever Phill.
As a side note i saw in the news the other day a fish & chip shop called the `Battered Wife`
It`s been in existence for 28 yrs,but of course you can`t have humour anymore.
I don`t fancy their chances of keeping the name.

Jan
this is an amazing piece of observation and writing!
Many years ago i read a story about the trolley man @ our supermkt
It announced he had died and told a little bit about his life,he had lived a difficult life.
I thought wow i used to take that guy for granted, a nobody. So i vowed i would never do that again.
As an example, now when i shop, it takes twice as long because of all the conversations i have.
I used to have a job where i was invisible to some people.
It tells you a lot about a person when they ignore the invisible people.
Their loss me thinks, often these people have amazing stories to tell.

Re: Eighty Six Questions (7 replies, posted in Songwriting)
easybeat .... definately a terrible thing suicide. I don`t think many people have the answer as each case or individual and what their circumstances leading up to their decision to kill themselves differ. Just makes me sad that they haven`t got people they can really open up too and pour their guts out too and having someone that will actually listen to them. Your song is very thought provoking and melancholy.
Thanks Jan,it was meant to be a thought provoking song.At first i thought i hadn`t been clear enough
in what i was saying in the song.I had a couple of comments that thought i was the subject in the song.
It was not a personal story,it was about a terrible epidemic that seems to be getting worse especially
amongst the young. What can i do to help me thinks?Answer write about it.
If it gets people thinking & talking i have accomplished what i set out to do.
Maybe some good will come from me raising this issue in a song.I can only hope.

Yeah Canada seem to be going down this PC road in a big way.
Fisher Folk instead of fisherman
Snow folk instead of Snowman
It`s starting to get that way in NZ,only a matter of time before
Father Christmas is a black lesbian woman!
Naughty Boy Phill!! Whoops naughty person Phill

Re: Eighty Six Questions (7 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Hey Guys this ain`t about me,it`s an observation. Not all songs are love songs.
It`s a subject often in our news, there seems to be an epidemic.
I have some theories on the subject but i really wouldn`t know what the answers are.
Mainly i wanted to write a song with numbers (86) who knows where to rest came from.
thanks for listen and comments.
