Those meds may be working too well, buddy! It's great to see the old Pedr back.
There's no P in toilet
There's no H in love
There's no I in joyo
And no L in heaven...twice
I'll leave you to work that out

I see you're feeling better Pedr?
Anyone can slap out chord after chord and sing like Freddy Mercury...well not Freddy, Not many have that original singing and playing style you exhibit. And of course your exceptional observational skill to transform that observation into a song or poem. I loved that high note, was Maree crushing the family jewels?

Shwmae Pedr?
This is a cross between gospel and deep blues in my opinion. I think chords would spoil it but that's my opinion. I found myself closing my eyes to listen without distractions so I had to watch the excellent video again. There are certainly different layers here. Well done.

You're so right, who'd swap places with John Lennon outside the Dakota building? Or Hendrix choking on his own vomit?

Many thanks Brian. I guess in that way I have made a success of my life. These days I'm happy to come into my man cave and torture my guitar and the neighbours with my out of tune singing and writing songs to get things off my mind, insecurities and such. I think I have a nice circle of friends here on Chordie with your good self, Peter and Jim which I enjoy keeping in touch with.
Good luck with your book by the way I'm sure you 'll make a great success with it. Our own J.K.Rowling?

We all have limitations, playing to your strengths and keeping within those limitations is the secret to success. You may quote me on that! I'm in a funny mood this morning.

In honour of your friend? Beautiful words written in the style she played? I'm guessing there'll be a recording soon?

Re: From here to London (9 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Hi Brian, recording on the way.
Pete, this song is about an eight year old boy dreaming of becoming a pop star...yes me! I'd lay awake for hours planning my rise to stardom. London is around 200 miles from me and back in the 50s and 60s that was a long way, about 6 hours in the car. I wanted to be a singer after seeing an Anthony Newly film about recording. Later seeing Tommy Steele playing guitar sent me down that path. Then of course the Beatles and the accompanying accusations of girls claiming one or other had made them pregnant. And finally the realisation that I'm not that good and would never make it at age 70 anyway. It's all there my concise autobiography.

A new song all about the hopes and aspirations of a young musician, semi biographical? I've had to make all "B" chords a 7th as Chordpro doesn't like "B"

May the force be with you, nanoo, nanoo and most of all...live long and prosper.
You are correct Jim, the female of the species can turn "female dog from hell" when you turn up on her doorstep for the kids with your new significant other sitting in the car. Claws at 16 paces, and loss of visitation rights...I know as I've been there!

Jim, you obviously haven't read my post properly as you echo the sentiments I have put down. In fact you've used the same words...this is a fine post which has generated a relevant conversation. I may be being chauvinistic here but; men/boys will always try it on, it's in our genes, pun intended. Some men, I call them cave men, want to spread their seed as far and wide as possible regardless of the consequences. We rely on women to have the common sense to say "no" trouble is we are all human male and female and we all have needs and desires.
Jim don't take offense at my jokey rebuke at the start, and don't disagree with me again...lol

There was a young man from Calcutta
Who liked bread and jam for his supper
He called to his wife
Please bring me a knife
But it took him all night
Cos he stuttered.
This came to me while entertaining my granddaughter at 9am!

The only line missing there is ; I'll phone you sometime but they never do!
I could feel the anguish in this young ladys thoughts, you've compiled them into a coherent poem. The story tells of lust which never lasts, sex without love is never truly satisfying and leaves the young lady with remorse and in danger of the consequences.
You've treated her thoughts with more respect than the guy in the poem. Well done

Peatl,
I love your honesty. So, you didn't rate the recording very highly? But you recognize that others did. Well done my friend, very touching and your heartfelt rendition compliments a gentle and talented soul.
I also love the way you snuck in how you and Maree have date nights...rock on Pedr.

well...William is the second in line to be king of the UK. Harry isn't. Harry is the ginger ninja and married to the Yoko Ono character. Yoko is the lady blamed for breaking up the Beatles that Lured John Lennon to the US and consequently got shot to death outside his home while signing an autograph for his killer! The only place I'd like to visit in the US is Strawberry Fields in New York for the Lennon memorial. I've visited the place that the song is about in Liverpool which is named Strawberry Field...no "s"

If this is about William and Harry, the similarity with John and Paul, did Yoko cause the break up? Will Meghan destroy the royal family? Let's hope not.

Hot toast with melting butter
Maybe covered with spaghetti tinned and egg fried
Tea, the drink of champions
So delicious, my tummy satisfied.
News on TV same old drudge
Riots, war and murder abound
Why not give us heartfelt joy
And spread the spread around.
Marmalade, strawberry jam or marmite
Choices, choices, choices
Do not put marmite on my toast please
Love it, hate it...hate it, yuk
Soft cheese triangles
Yummy, yummy, yummy!
Toast burnt round the edges
Sits well in my tummy.
Toast a toast we're toasting
Marshmallows on an open fire
Good old malt scotch whisky
The best, I am no liar.

I have a predilection
That could lead to a conviction
An uncomfortable vacation
In a room of mass extinction
While the world goes on in rapture
Over what they shoot or capture
As we modify our nature
to accommodate our pleasure
And name it as our fate
While we thoughtlessly copulate
Eventually...predicate
