I was raised in upstate NY - the Catskills. We had snow on the ground from November through March - heck I remember snow on Mothers day. I loved winter sports, skiing, sledding, played hockey since I can remember. That said, I shoveled enough driveways and scraped enough windshields to last a lifetime. I like to see a pretty snowfall - as long as it doesn't stick to the roads and is melted away by nightfall.

I feel sympathy for those seeing negative temps - been there done that. But really, being in the 30's here is almost the same. Not used to it and I don't even own a winter jacket! We usually have 1 or 2 cold blasts like this each year - thankfully they don't last long!

Come on down to chordiestock!!

^ Hey! It was cold here today! I had to wear long sleeves and a jacket! And I've been in sweat pants (no shorts) for 2 nights in a row! BRRRRRRR!

Hey Jerome - Congrats on a great game. I really expected FSU to handle them easily, but Auburn sure was impressive. I don't need your money, bragging rights are much better.

Please make a $100 donation to VH1's Save The Music program - you can even keep the tax write-off!

So Auburn by a TD or I send you a Benjamin?

I agree the SEC is a far superior conference top to bottom. But I also believe FSU is a far superior team than Auburn. Absolutely, I'll take your bet, I have FSU +7 for a Benji

Rose Bowl is going to be a great game.   My bet on the NCS game is Auburn blows out FSU by a wide margin.

How many points are you giving jerome? I'm in for $100 straight up if you'd like. I'll lay $500 if you give me 7 points.

Please just let this thread die. I appreciate all of the support, but everything that can be said has been said.

Yup, It's like what Bobby Jones said about Jack Nicholas "He plays a game with which I am not familiar."

Satriani plays an instrument with which I am not familiar.

I'm done debating this - especially on a public forum. PayPal ruled in my favor for a reason - enough said.

I do wish this had turned out differently and I am sorry you lost out on this guitar. Best of luck with the recovery.

Yeah -It's my fault I made last minute plans to leave town. It's my fault that I have a job and cannot afford to sit at home all day to meet the UPS truck. Sorry Lady - All it took was requiring a signature as POD - as required by PayPals User Agreement. And to not insure something as valuable as this guitar was just asinine - what if it had showed up and was damaged in shipping. No ma'am - this ones on you.

I offered to buy it still if it was found and I get a pissy email stating it would be sold elsewhere. Face the Music and stop blaming me - PayPal ruled in my favor because you erred in shipping.

Folks here know all to well about this story. I am truly sorry you came out on the worse end of this deal. If it ever does show up, I may still be interested in purchasing.

Jeff

Thats EXACTLY the same thing!

Very good TF - made me smile!

Glad to hear it Joey - You deserve some good news.

I like experimenting with new strings - it's cheap, temporary and who knows - you might find a set you love! I'm not at all a fan of Elixer's - I've snapped Elixer G's within a few hours of putting them on. Zurf was kind enough to send me a few set of Ernie Ball Earthwoods and I put a set of 12's on my new J45 - they sound really good - a whole lot better than whatever strings it was shipped with. I'm looking forward to contrasting them to my normal go-to John Pearse 80/20's, but even then I'll be shopping for something different on my next order. I typically buy 5 or 6 sets of the JP strings and toss in something different on each order.

Sound is so subjective - what one loves, another will hate. I will say if you have the chance let someone else play your guitar while listening - it likely is a totally different sound you hear than while playing it yourself.

Happens all the time - usually when I've had a few (or a lot) in the evening I think to myself - "hey that's really good". Then the next day I sound like crap again.

I believe adult beverages may play a role.

Zurf - You are absolutely correct. I had no idea years ago when I first volunteered to be a chordie moderator that I would ever have the opportunity to meet, (let alone play along with) such fine folks. Getting to know Toney in person and being introduced to his friends (most of whom are fine musicians) - wow I never expected that. Just as getting to know You, Wayne, Amy, Paul, Chris, Toots, BGD, Beamer, Astro, Roger, Ken (and whoever else I am leaving out)- all amazing musicians and more importantly, great human beings - I am blessed for sure. That's what makes chordie such a great place!
