Don't know how many know Steve but he is a great entertainer, songwriter and guitar player.

Sounds like a good one Zurf,
Have to love it when you leave smiling and feeling good about life
Cam,
My AM radio will play most of the time but you got give it three good wacks on the dash to get it goin ! We aint got no cable TV out here either so on the weekends we go out and shoot bottles at the dump
OOps Zurf
I meant the 4th and 5th string sorry !
Jerome ,
This time we agree a barre F and open F are two different animals and that was my point the last time this come up. I play the F both ways depending entirely on the song and if it sounds better with bass walks or hammerons or pulloffs I play it open. Some songs played with mostly barre chords sound better with the F chord barred.
It is not a cheating in fact to play it with the ring finger fretting the 4th and 5th fret. I believe is tougher than a barre chord.
Al,
Would that be one of them cellular phones everyone talks about ? We aint got none of that stuff out here in Wyoming but we did get FM radio a couple years ago, but my old truck just has AM
Howdy Jimor,
I have been messing around with the harmonica for about 10 years and wasn't to serious about it. A few months back i purchased a holder so I could play guitar also and it just clicked alot better and now I can play some simple melodies and accompany myself half decent on several songs and I see progress every session. I still struggle though without my guitar but it's coming along.
Try www.harptabs.com
Yup did the updates and jumped through all the hoops and the cubase seemed to be ok but the interface mixer controls weren't working right and after alot of research it seems a common problem
Anyway it"s on the way back to where it come from
Yes Kenny,
It had me down but I'm not out
I just thought if they are selling it to be compatible with windows it should work with the new versions not just 5 yr old XP and some vista but not all and I got tired of looking at the innards of my computer. I figured my time aint worth much but why waste it on something that has some design or programming gliches .
I was ready to kick some buddies butt , but my wife always has to remind me ,
"Who's butt you gonna kick your a 50 yr old man"
:
I gave up,
I boxed the interface back up and said to heck with wasting hours trying to get it to work with my pc. It was designed with Mac users in mind and there were other things I did not like . I am on the hunt for a new interface now, I am not locked into buying one with firewire anymore. With just two inputs USB can handle what I am going to do.
Thanks Gabby and Amy,
Thanks Kenny,
As you know I am kinda narrow minded and set in my ways but I really want to make this special and I may have to go to a recording studio. I appreciate your opinion .
The interface recorder is absolutely got me frustrated and almost ready to give up. I don't think it likes windows vista. I almost smashed it today and I had to go walk it off and I haven't returned to it yet
Hello everyone,
I was killing time this morning and stopped by Russell Harding's he has decorated his place all up for the holidays and should have more visitors
a link to Russ's

Nice work Russell and Happy Holidays
And when folks ask you why did you transpose this song you can smile and say I play it this way to match my voice.
That sounds better than , dad burn it , I just can't play barre chords so I have to play it this way
Nice Job Fellas !
I'm with Russ no room for no pussy mix around here.
Sex , Drugs & Rock and Roll !!!!
Oops I guess that was 30 yrs ago , but still that don't mean we need any "Pussy Mix"
Russ , when I get back home I will give my opinion of your sound mix, I just have my laptop with me.
Thanks,
I have talked to a gal about some harmonies so I am gonna try that . I am going to try and hook up with a dobro player this afternoon and see how that goes.
Amy, Amy
You have to know this song , at least I thought everyone did
Hey Amy,
You might want to transpose the song to Em and do all easy open chords if your not ready for barre chords.
Just a thought
Hey Pix,
I have had a g series dread Tak and my daughter still has a small bodied tak. They come with great electronics as I'm sure you know. I have a martin HD-28 and a Yairi WY1 SB and are both very nice but the least expensive guitar and Best for finger picking is a Masterbilt Epi DR 500 MNS and I installed the B-band A.2 pickup myself.
I had it at our local guitar store wednesday and 2 fellows that work there played it plugged and unplugged and were absolutely blown away with the setup and tone.
It has the smothest neck and is just a sweetheart . It sounds great flatpicking also but if I didn't know better I would guess it was a $2000 dollar or up guitar .
I don't know about how consistent they are,but this is a made in China guitar that is really something special and I have owned quite a few guitars and get to play alot of very nice ones.
NO, I am not receiving any kickbacks from Gibson or Epiphone
Howdy,
I got a chance briefly to talk to my friend , they were very busy . It really depends on if you are really gonna be into playing metal. He said he did not know of a strat or a copy that had pickups that were good for playing metal. If that is a big issue he said you should maybe look at Peavey or Ibenez.
If you are not hung up on that he plays a Les Paul but just purchased a Strat for it's versatility.
I wish I could have talked to him more but I was heading out for the weekend and it looked like the holiday rush had started there.
He said they have a PV Pxd 23 guitar ,amp , mic package for $300 that sounds killer for the money. I can't find any specs on the guitar and if metal isn't a huge stumbling block go with a strat or strat copy.
Later,
I am in North Dakota visiting my mother for the weekend and it is cold -15 F
BBBBBRRRRRR
Hello again,
I have a friend that works at the local music store, he has been to luthier school and does all the repair work and setups . Also he has nearly completed his music major in college. He can make any thing sound great . I will ask him what starter electric he would recommend. He will give me an honest opinion and why. I will post something after I talk to him. It's just another opinion but I consider him an expert
I am still working on a tribute slideshow for my Great Grandfather and have finally decided on a song and I just did kinda of a preview. I am still waiting for more pics from my uncle. The only pic I have is the opening one. I just added some others to add to it for now.
I played guitar and harmonica and am wondering if I should add more instruments , lead guitar maybe , I am thinking no bass beings I am doing an alternating bass line on guitar. I am thinking a female vocalist for harmonies on the chorus.
Opinions please I have a new recording interface on the road so hopefully I can do better with it.
I don't believe fiber optics is available in the home recording gear that I have researched . Firewire seems to be replacing USB for faster , more capabilites and less latency problems than USB . Firewire seems to be able to handle a bigger load and seems to prevent some gliches and lockups that sometimes comes via USB.
Jay I agree,
but I would only give 2 strikes and your out
First offense for destroying a guitar 5 yrs in the hole . 2nd offense hung by the neck until dead
Hey Amy,
This is kind of a tough one but first thing . Do you want to go solid or hollow body electric . More metal and hard rockers go solid body . Alot of jazz , blues and some of the more mellow sounds are done on semihollow. Like BB King, Chet Atkins and on and on.
There are alot of exceptions tho , Ted Nugent and many more have used hollow bodies but it isn't really common . If you go to a solid body the Fender Strat is probably the most versatile for getting lots of different sounds , great for blues, country and rock.
A place to go for User Reviews , click on user reviews and go to the catagory and brand and see what folks have to say about each model you are interested in.
Musicans friend is a good site to look at pricing and has reviews on all units also . I won't post the link cause it's frowned on
There are alot of good practice type small amps now days and maybe some of our friends will help out
