That is a powerfull story,Myself I would never part with the guitar,I would take the time and find a good luthier to fix it and keep it as a family heirloom. zguitar is right I belive a 56 gibson is very collectable. I would like to see some pictures of it,maybe some before and some during restore and some when done.

I wanted to wish everone an offical merry christmas today as I will be out tommarrow. I would also like to thank all our moderators, administrators, editors etc. for doing a super job on the site, you are appreciated for all the time you volenteer.

Take them to your local music store and explain the predicment too them, they will usually work something out. Wait untill after xmas and take them to guitar showcase and tell them they were a gift and you belive they were bought there. try e bay is another idea. hope that helps. have a good christmas papa tom.

Why is it so hard to solve a redneck murder?         because the dna is all the same and there are  no dental records.

Hi zguitar I have the same thing going on with my guitars, and my yamaha has been real nice to play, its alot easyer then most acoustics I have found, but it will not produce the richer sound that the more expensive guitars do.

Hey zurf,I think we all get some bum thoughts this time of the year,be thankfull you hace the ones that are with you and let them know it. you know you also have alot of friends here on sight.

I had a really nice ovation I bought about 1982,it was about $800.00 hard case and all. it was a great sounding guitar but I was always real uncomfortable with the big back bowl,so I sold it. at the time ovation was having a problem with exploding hard shell cases ( the material split and it looked like an explosion at the area),it was freaky when I came home one day to find it happended to mine. it did not hurt anything just looked funky. thought I would share that fact with you.

Thats good zurf,I agree one hundred percent with pete,I also only eat small meals seveal times a day and it will keep your stomach small.it also helps if you can drink alot of non caloric drinks about eight aday, it washes out fats.Rule of thumb is your meal should be no larger then a closed fist. If you sit down and eat a large meal it will make you tired or sleepy as it requires alot of oxygen to digest it.
