I wake up today to learn that Vinny Paul Abbott has died. Only 4 yrs older than me.
What a loss to heavy music. By all reports he was a human metronome. Now he is with Darryl.
Looks like a BLACK TOOTH GRIN and some Cowboys from Hell are on the playlist.
RIP VINNY GIVE YOUR BROTHER A HUG.

Topic: Don't you hate it when.... (6 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
So as you guys know I posted the song tortured with lyrics in the correct section.
Well today I'm listening to an acoustic playlist and stained enzyme with a song that had never heard called "Me".
And I swear to God you would think I copied it for my song I do believe the tuning is the same dropsy and all they played slightly different because I watched how it was being played it's still very rhythmically what I was shooting for so if anybody says that I must have heard it in the past I haven't until today so don't you just hate it when that happens

I removed my Version from SC, however I'm inclined to re-record. I'm gonna get a mic mechanic for my voice. Then I also have the new head to play through.
Love the new verse.

Re: Solution for Pick Guard Static? (7 replies, posted in Electric)
Thanks, gents ...
Unfortunately the problem is not a grounding (thanks, Neo) or shielding (thanks, TIG) issue, because there are no electronics under the pickguards on either of my Gretsch, Les Paul, or Thunderbird guitars. It's simply a matter of static being created when my fingers slide on the pickguard(s), and if that happens to be near a pickup the crackling happens. I saw some suggestions on-line to wipe the pickguards periodically with a "Bounce" sheet, and so far that's working.
Good insights, though, and much appreciated.
Bounce is just light wax. Try some actual wax. That should last longer.

Beamer ... this is exceptional material ... wow! However it's played, the emotions are deep, personal, and incredibly moving.
You have no idea. The man was not blood, but closer than my own brothers.

Re: TORTURED to be renamed WW7 (9 replies, posted in Poems)
Scott it's very powerful ,but I would perhaps say there's too many tortured references.Unless you are planning to have the tortured bits as a second voice in the background gradually building to a crescendo at the end. Then maybe leave them as is.
Yep thats the idea. a voice behind the main voice, but as a refrain. a build up of the pain.

Once again it hits late at night right before I need to go to sleep. Listening to RATM (Rage Against the Machine for the unknowing) although this song really doesn't follow any of their style, it just randomly appeared whilst "Killing in the name of" was on. a late night scribble, re-tooled today. May still be up for another re-write. FEEDBACK WELCOME.

Scott Sailer
Seeing your life
Only in death
IM TORTURED
Through your eyes
Your silent cry!
IM TORTURED
Through your eyes
I now can cry.
Casket lays open
In death / peace
NOW WE LOOK DOWN
TORTURED!
THROUGH YOUR EYES, I SEE NO MORE PAIN
THROUGH YOUR EYES
THE LIVES ONCE TOUCHED, NEVER THE SAME
IM TORTURED
My brother, my mate
Oh god why did you hate
LIKE A SON TO A MOTHER,
WHY DID YOU LEAVE US BROTHER?
IM TORTURED
So as you lay to rest, Leaving us to finish the test,
The love you gave, The true friends you made,
THE VOID YOU LEFT
THIS CHASEM BEREFT
THE PAIN THAT NEVER HEALS!
Seeing your life, Only in death
Only in death, I’m seeing your life.
Through your eyes
I now can cry!
IM TORTURED
IM TORTUREDTORTURED
Through your eyes
I now can cry! (Repeat and fade)

So if lyrics with out music is a poem, then I hope music with out lyrics qualifies for this section
Just playing around after a long time of not playing. I came up with just this at first.
Bm5 – G (Root on 3rd only) – A5 (On 2nd fret barred, the cheat way) – C5
https://soundcloud.com/beamer326/bmg-a-c
and then went this direction for the chorus,
Bm5 / D#5 \ Bm5 – A
/ = slide up
\ = slide down
https://soundcloud.com/beamer326/dea-with-chorus
Anyone got any good or better ideas for the chorus?
And I just realized its a little like April Wine's "All Over Town" there for a second,,, NOT intentional.

Thank you Beamer - Thats a good shorter version
Thank you. I think a song should not be too wordy, its a hard one when its a personal story, but I think it holds attention better.

Hello Chordie family,
I just realized i have not been to check in for a while. its getting and has been pretty demanding at Boeing lately, and if not there, I have been Detailing a lot
(the sun comes out and the dollars start falling, if I don't grab them someone else will)
Today I had a cancellation, so I finally restrung one guitar, used a Thin/Thick set of GHS BOOMERS (.010, .013, .017, DY30, DY44, DY52) And that set really pushes a drop C tuning. I put these on my Dean Z and its growls now.
I have hardly played anything either.
That being said I also fiddled around and came up w/ a little Idea that ill post in songs. Any suggestions will be welcome. I had the verse line and couldn't come up with the chorus, and then I fell back on the KISS method. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID! But we shall see lol. As mentioned, it’s all up in songs.

Re: TRANSGRESSIONS (8 replies, posted in Poems)
Made some additions last night.
Old transgressions
No longer want to hide
To those agreements
None will abide
Those roads crossed so many years ago,
Straightened out, and side by side
Found their way back
and I wanted to take that ride
The hell hound has caught my trail
I try to run but to no avail
Past and present
Starting to collide
All of my paths
No longer side by side
The hell hound has caught my trail
I try to run but to no avail
Running, for my life
Tripping and crawling
I hear them calling
TO HELL WITH THE FALLING
My deadly sins are haunting me
Like a head-on collision I cannot see
Smashing face to face
Into reality
The hell hound has caught my trail
I try to run but to no avail
They don’t know who I am
Just the scent of the past and the taste of my blood
Time to face what’s come of me
I will survive, that’s who I am!

Thats small price to pay to protect your equipment, good choice Beamer. Having the entire basement on one breaker seems like a huge risk. When I rewired my house and work shop I put in dedicated circuts for the computers and in my work shop each wall has its own breaker, might be overkill, but I feel safer about it.
Yea I feel the same way! but it is what it is. I cant afford to re wire, or even have conduit run around the outside of the house to bring another line for the TV's and toys. My garage is the same way. wired into the Microwave circuit. if I have my bright lights on, and a buffer and a radio, as soon as someone wants to heat something,, POP. reset. I just hang a sign on the Microwave now that says TELL DAD FIRST!

I recently purchased a power conditioner off Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BQ … &psc=1
The basement is wired all on one braker! In WA the moisture in the power lines I'm sure also does not help. I had a constant HUMMM through my amps, and it had to be a grounding issue. So after replacing many patch and instrument cables, I found the above item. Read the reviews, and some showed the inside, and a guy was stating "all it is a few resisters added to a power strip in a fancy case." Well maybe so, but after this price point, it got stupid expensive. I am totally pleased. Yes the lead could be a bit longer, but that just adds noise back in, it does what it claims to do very well No more HUMMM and with that new tube amp, it was very noticeable + why not protect the investment?
For the price, its a great addition to your set up.
