That's called a 7/6 chord, notated as Cm7/6 or Cm7 add6.
As an aside, your A# is correctly referred to as a Bb in this example since b, not a, is the 7th scale degree in c. Although they are enharmonic equivalents it's a lot easier to understand and explain theory when you use Bb instead of A#.
Hope that helps!
Incredible. Still in shock.

Wow you are not afraid of jinxing us at all are you? lol.
Zurf wrote:Possum Kingdom? Sure you didn't move to Tennessee?
Crazy name for a lake, right? Apparently it's reasonably canoe friendly and holds many large fishies, so I need to go there and probably not catch any of them.

Well out where you are,,, you might get lucky.but if you go to the Dallas music scene, Two bands to check out, an they have been mentioned on my post before, are THE DANGITS and MISSEL. A very cool place to visit for some BBQ and good music is called THE FOUNDRY since thats what it used to be. and right up the road is a way cool old hotel called The Belmont. If your in the pool, it looks over the Dallas down town and so does the outdoor bar. (Its also the headquarters for the Rockers and Mods rally every year
a couple local favorites out towards you and where I used to live are also Jimmy Baldwin, and Stan Crawford. Cool Texas is the home of KC James, AI winner a few yrs ago.
and if you like bog old buildings, its worth the drive into mineral wells to walk around the Baker hotel and the Crazy water hotel, and stop at Downtown video for some Jitter bean coffee and see the plans for the hopeful restoration of the Baker. Tell Laura and Brian your friends with me. they watched our kids grow up over the years.
well that got off track but....
Thanks for the tips! I actually live just between Weatherford and Fort Worth so Mineral Wells isn't too far of a drive! And I've been planning to go to Possum Kingdom to fish so maybe that's a good stop off before I launch.
Sadly, you are not wrong.
Tonight is a big night. I will have my rally cap on all evening.
Are you trying to train that kid to be a southpaw? I like it!
Zurf wrote:Sorry, but I don't have the foggiest what you're talking about. Is the World Series on and the Cubs are in it? That's my best guess. I just really don't follow or care about professional sports at all.

not quite yet. They are currently in the playoffs. Record breaking year for them. Fingers crossed!

Ok so the weekend went great. I did the "green grass grew all around" as a sing along and parents and kids seemed to enjoy it. Then we had a flag retirement ceremony so I figured out a quick solo acoustic version of America the Beautiful.
Tent was way easier to tear down and now that I have it figured out I bet 20-25 minutes to set up by myself.
Thanks for all the help and input y'all! I need a 4 hour long shower.
It only took 2 hours to put up.
I have since found out that I'm not leading songs at camp tomorrow. I have actually been volunteered to perform a few at the campfire.
Pros:
- I know lots of music.
- I don't need to worry about 75 copies of lyric sheets.
Cons:
- Are "Let's Get It On" and ""No Diggity" age appropriate?
So anywho, I really appreciate all the help and advice. While reading through this post and Doug's link I remembered a song that I sang back in camp. I think it's called "The Green Grass Grew All Around." I've dusted that off and learned it and printed a few copies of lyrics. It's a fun call and response tune. I am also gonna try and get them to sing Camptown Races with me. Wish me luck!
BGD
PS I ordered a tent and it did not show up. Late last night I splurged on a tent from REI that I've never used before and have no idea how to put up, and it's been raining all day. So REALLY wish me luck. lol
Bill some drummers I know are better guitarists than many guitarists I know. Surprise yourself!
Happy birthday man! Have some jams and beers tonight to celebrate.
Who you callin guy, guy?

Zurf, buddy....
I have a fever. And the only cure is more tuba.
I love that recording. I felt like I was there having fun with you. Nothing is better than teaching kids to enjoy music.

the tv themes are always great but the ones I would suggest they probably dont know! LOL but Dukes theme (just the good old boys) Gilligan's island, if you can do surf music, the new Hawaii 5 O still uses the original score. batman, Brady bunch ect. I can send ya some stuff from my book of camp songs. OH cats in the cradle is good along with (as mentioned) Eagle and the Hawk by John Denver (loosly known as the only rocking song by him or the John Denver grunge song lol)
Nope, I have 1.5 weeks to learn them. Camp out is next weekend.

There are a couple of links there that might be handy in just this kind of circumstance.... especially the Kristin Hall one.
Shoulda searched first. Thx.
SOMMMMEEEEBOOODDDYYYYY in my family who is adorable and 10 years old just volunteered me to be a song leader at a Cub Scout camp out.
I need a song list...any ideas are appreciated!
mekidsmom wrote:We are discussing now how to run next month's thread. How about a vote on that? How would YOU ALL like to see the FSOTM chosen for November? Let's put THAT to a vote!
Do you prefer song suggestions, or people suggestions?
Do you prefer the hat, or moderators choice, or would you prefer to put it to a membership vote for November?
How about a "theme" song suggestion? Think... "member written songs" or "Christmas/Winter songs" or "break up songs" or "love songs" or ... any certain theme!
Let us know what YOU think! We have lots more months ahead of us, unless the internet dies! ha ha ha! So, how would YOU like to see the November song chosen?
I prefer a group vote, but at least would like to see some consistency from month to month.
I would be happy to listen to Christmas or winter songs, but if we go that route I'll rest my voice for a month - I got enough of holiday music in school to last a lifetime.
I thought we were taking a vote lol
Roger Guppy wrote:Baldguitardude wrote:Roger I love the Nashville tuning sounds you get. Do you have guitars permanently set up for that? If so, do they have to be adjusted for it?
Sorry I missed this, my bad!!
I keep two acoustics Nashville tuned and two normal and yes the string tension is different for the Nashville strings and needed a truss rod adjustment.
Roger
I was wondering if it was something I said lol
Jeff is there Uber where you are?
