Thanks Daddy,
The lyrics in this didn't really happen, but there was a time thirty some odd years back, we were partying at the beach drinking a few cold ones and feeding the gulls. This one gull hovered 10' above me and let one go. It was a bullseye right in my beer bottle...Nothing but net...It was a great shot. lol Needless to say we stopped feeding the birds. lol
Thanks for the read. big_smile

Hey Phill,
Yup they're my lyrics as Wayne posted earlier. Waynes style of picking is perfect for this song. I just hope I can get my act together to do his playing justice. He bought the same Cubase with a different interface so I'm praying he will learn me something. big_smile
We had a dusting of snow that melted by 10 AM. It's above seasonal here but one day rain, next day sun, next day wind.... makes no fun. big_smile
Thanks for the read and comments...Cheers

G'day Wayne,
Sorry I didn't respond to your last Email...expect one right shortly. big_smile I'm really looking forwards to working with you  ...I'm hoping you can bear with me.
Thanks my Friend big_smile

Hi Ark,
There's gonna be a big learning curve for me going from Audacity to Cubase ( Heck I still haven't figured out Audacity)...It could take awhile. lol I'm not sure if the narration makes it too long of a song or not but time will tell. Hopefully it'll be a goodun. big_smile
Muchos Gracias

I spent a good part of today trying to figure out if the song title is considered OK. I don't know and I don't want to offend any one.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks again for taking the time for the read. big_smile

First I know this is a family forum so if the title is offensive let me know and I will change it. big_smile
I am doing a collab with wlbaye on this and I wasn't going to post it until I had it recorded but for reasons unsaid I'm having a tough time doing my end. Hopefully posting it will help kick start me.
This is done tongue and cheek in a John Prine style. All capital letters is speaking and picking.
Enjoy

[C]Baseball was a game I played when [F]I was young.

Man it was [C]so much fun, I could play it all [G]day.

One [C]day I was playing a game in front of my [F]Maw and my Paw,

When the [C]baseball took a durty [G]bounce right up and [C]broke my jaw.[G7]

[F]Three long years of playing without [C]dropping one.

Aaah [G]AhAaah [C]Ah

[F]Murphies law and broken jaws can't [C]kill the fun.

Ain't no one to [G7]blame.

It's just a Goddamn [C]shame.

[C]

NOW GROWING UP I ALSO BROKE BOTH MY ARMS AND ONE OF

[C]

MY LEGS. HECK I EVEN BROKE MY BIG TOE TRYING TO STICK IT

[C]

WHERE IT DIDN'T BELONG...I'LL KEEP THAT ONE TO MYSELF.

[C]

ANYWAYS....

[C]I remember when I got my [F]very first car,

Man it could go [C]fast and far, I would drive it all [G]day.

One [C]night I went out gambling to my [F]favorite bar,

When a [C]deer crashed through my [G]windshield and it [C]wrecked my car. [G7]

[F]Ten long years of driving without [C]wrecking one.

Aaah [G]AhAaah[C]Ah

[F]Murphies law and broken jaws can't [C]kill the fun.

Ain't no one to [G7]blame.

It's just a goddamn [C]shame.

[C]

NOW IN MY LIFETIME I'VE HAD ONE HOUSE BURNED TO THE

[C]

GROUND BY LIGHTNING, ANOTHER HOUSE KNOCKED TO THE

[C]

GROUND BY A TORNADO AND MY POOR DOG TRIXIE SQUISHED

[C]

INTO THE GROUND........BY A MAC TRUCK. I'VE BEEN DIVORCED

[C]

THREE TIMES BUT I DON'T BELIEVE THAT WAS MURPHIES LAW

[C]

ALTHOUGH ALL THREE OF THOSE GOOD OLE BOYS MY EX'S

[C]

MARRIED HAD THE LAST NAME OF........YOU GUESSED

[C]

IT..............MURPHY. YOU TELL ME HE HE. ALL I KNOW IS.....

[C]Now I live all alone here in this old [F]trailer park.

Man at [C]night it's dark, so I drink in the [G]day.

Last [C]weekend I was just sitting here in the [F]evening sun,

When a [C]bird crapped in my [G]beer and it weren't a [C]little one. [G7]

[F]Fifty years of drinking without [C]spilling one.

Aaah [G]ahAaah[C]Ah

[F]Murphies law and broken jaws can't [C]kill the fun.

Ain't no one to [G7]blame,

Ain't no one to [G7]blame,

Ain't no one to [G7]blame,

It's just a goddamn [C]shame. [F][C][G][C][G][C]

On Nov 06/09 Jesse Davidson passed away. He was from my home town of London Ontario. In 1995 his dad, at the age of 49, pushed Jesse across Ontario in a wheelchair, 3,339 kilometers, to raise funds for this disease. They raised 1.5 million dollars. In 1998 his dad John walked across Canada for the same cause and raised 2 million dollars. They have both made a huge impact in the local area when it comes to raising funds but more important was the idea to never give up on your dreams no what what the obstacle. He lived to 29, 10 years passed his life expectancy.

God Bless You Jesse

Rest In Peace

Vie de Plage, Interesting name for a song Ark big_smile: What does it mean?
I get a feel of watching thundering waves crashing on a beachhead and anticipating the coming winter blahs. But that is just me. lol

Great mix and arrangement as usual.
You should take a stab at some lyrics and vocals on one of your projects. My bet is it would turn out as good as your music.

This is a link to the story of a healthy 13 boy that came to London (my home town) two weekends ago to play in a hockey tournament. He was healthy when he started the tourney but had to leave in the middle of it. He passed away that Monday night. He has become the face of H1N1 in Canada as it was a very sad passing. His dad was on TV 2 days later discussing H1N1 and his son's last moments. It was heartbreaking to watch but he felt he had to to inform the public of the severity of H1N1. I've said my prayer for him and the others that will be taken down by this virus and I can only hope the medical establishment has it right.
My son played in the same tourney 10 years ago. I really feel for all the hockey parents as well cause they've got to be scared big time. I don't know what sport is played by kids in the fall but please be vigilant, use common sense and educate your children.

Hi Wayne, I just got my puter back from being overhauled with another gig of ram for Cubase and I will be getting into it tonight. I believe it has a lot more to offer than Audacity as it should. It's cost of $119 is reasonable. It has a large support network for the newbie in me(Thankfully) cause I'm gonna need it. Audacity gave me a good working knowledge of how this type of program works so hopefully it won't be too hard to figure out.
All I can say for now is make sure your DVD player is working and you have 2 gig of Ram on board. smile

Lena (Old Doll) turned me on to Nancy Griffith a ways back with this cover song called Tecumseh Valley written by Townes. A beautiful song done extraordinaire by Nancy.
I love the harmony and emotion in this piece.

Enjoy

Howdy Phill, just had a listen to this and "Don't Turn Away". Two real nice pieces. Good mix and vox as per usual. big_smile: Do you usually write the music first? Just shows to go ya, good songs can be written either way.

We used to play a game called leau (I think that is how to spell it) it is kind of a cross between poker and ueker. It's been so long I can't remember how it's played. We used to get together a least once a month for some real good games but life got in the way and haven't played for ages. I miss those days...they were fun for sure. As for online poker, I don't trust computers/companies enough to chance my hard earned cash to strangers, maybe down the road. smile

lol I remember that when it happened. It was funny then and it's funny now.

Hi mekidsmom. Yup I sure sweated off a few pounds but I don't suggest it for those that want to diet. lol They ought to make a law about laws. It seems we have them but they're only enforced on the middle class...or so it seems.
I watched the vid with your daughter, she's a sweety.looking forwards to more.
