Well said Phill these shows are no real danger to "real" musicians and are just pure entertainment loved by the general public.
Why they get up so called true musician noses is beyond me surely they could do something more constructive with their "talents" than to try and bring the Simon Cowell/ Xfactor winner down.
The pettiness of some people is so odd....

Hi Ken
It's nice to see you posting again. The song is certainly melancholic and lyrics are really nicely written.
Maybe you can record it when you feel up to it.
Sorry to hear about your health problems.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi flester
I agree with Russ a direct conection to your PC from your guitar could be the source of the hiss sound. Better to use an interface of some kind with the conection to the PC from the interface through a line-in not the mic socket.

Hi plind68
Welcome to Chordie.
Only two months on your guitar jouney and barring reasonably well sounds like you are not doing a lot wrong. The only thing I can suggest is to practice as much as you can and build up hand/ finger strength and accuracy within a month or so you should have it all nailed...

Hi Russ
I must say I like the simplicity of this song the lonesome sounding harmonica gives it a Western feel. I would be hard put to say more instrument tracks need adding just maybe backing vocals on the chours. I don't Know if you and Phill are cooking up something different if you are then I'm sure it will be good.

Hi jbsoccerbrit
Welcome to Chordie.
The stumming is not bad for a newbie rhythm and timing seem to be ok but It's difficult to hear as the recording is somewhat weak.
You've got a good foundation there it's just a matter of practice as you probally know.
Keep it up.

Hi daddy
The easiest barre chords to play is the E shape which can be moved up the fret board keeping the same shape there are others. He's a link to justin Sandercoe site which covers just about everything.  http://www.justinguitar.com/en/CH-006-BasicBarres.php

Hope you don't mind me answering. Phill not been around so much lately.

Hey Marc
Thanks for the comment. I just might and try and do that.
I'm hoping to get about an Hour and half of ambient stuff together to make a decent CD then test the water so to speak.

Hi Simon P
Welcome to Chordie.
I'm afraid there's no way round sore fingers tips even getting the odd blister when learning the guitar it comes with the territory.
Just remember it will get better in time they will harden with use just don't overdo the playing when they are really sore or blistered.
We all have gone through it a some time it's a question of gritting yer teeth and keeping at it..

Hi Phill
I think I'm back in the saddle but horse is still a bit reluctant to move smile ..........
Afghanistan I did a while back now when the UK was just getting involved in that now seeming unending conflict that has taken so many lives.
I've got a few tracks spinning around so something reasonable may come out of them..
Thanks for encouraging comments.

Hey Tuba

Hi All
Not done much in the way musical composition over the last few months. I guess I've not felt up to it for various reasons Been playing my guitar though and nailed down some old tunes though Clasical gas still eludes me smile

"When the rain falls" is a pure ambient piece which is new it can be heard here.

I entered "Afghanistan" in Ourstage last month and the piece came 5th out of 350 so it sort of inspired me to get back to writing again. It can be heard here.
