Hi Phill, I hope no one took to seriously what was supposed to be a tongue in cheek comment to your humorous post. Although I do see from other posts that the comments came from 3 continents, so 3 different brewerys producing I imagine 3 different beers although probably marketed under the same name. Myself, I belong to a consumer group that promotes the responsible drinking of real beer. My preference is to drink beer as local to me as possible depending on where I happen to be, also choosing to consume beers from small breweries rather than national or international breweries.
I may even call in and have a pint with you someday and i'll even bring my own fly swatter.

Each to their own I guess, but here in the UK we are fortunate to have hundreds of small breweries producing many different beers in many different styles. So wherever I am I try to find a beer that is produced not more than 30 miles away.

Hi T F. I sort of got the simple cho pro for most of it. Struggling a bit with the middle section, I think it may need rewriting. Then of course theirs the instrumental break, I normally work with acoustic, but think electric would be better due to the theme of the song.
The big problem is my internet connection, it is just so slow and unreliable. I have to do most of my online work, including this, from my mobile phone. My contract finishes in June so I'll be able to shop around for something a bit more suitable, till then their isn't much chance of uploading anything.

I tend to think that the fly committed suicide. With all the fine Welsh brewery's about, the poor fly was forced to suffer Australian lager or Guinness.
Think I might have done the same.

What have I been missing out on all these years. I am just getting into paying 12 sring (thanks for your comments about capo's). And already I have to visit a nail bar and a porn store. Seems like 12ers have much more fun than 6ers, although when I tell the missus I may omit the word nail and tell her I have to visit the bar.

Hi everyone. I've just been playing a 12 string I may or may not buy. The problem is, when I used the capo I found that on the treble strings everything was fine, but around the bass strings where you have fine gauge strings between strings of a heavier gauge, the capo just mutes the finer ones as the thicker strings just create a bridge. This is the first time I have ever picked a 12er up so any advice would be welcome.

Great news that Grah is out of hospital, no one wants to be in those places. May be a while yet before he's dancing like Snoopy but it's very encouraging news.
Thanks for the update Kev.

No problem Bill. I find the best cure for any ailment, be it physical, mental or otherwise, is wash it down with a beer.
Incidentally, I've never been called a singer before, or a guitarist.
Take care Bill.

I thought I'd try this although I didn't have a problem. Until i tried it that is. It seems like an effective way of committing suicide.
Thanks Bill but i'll give that one a miss

Can't help with that one UJB. As a confirmed technophobic, last night I tried to upload a new song I just wrote to YouTube. But due to my very slow internet speeds and even slower brain cell I just gave up, but good luck and I'll look forward to listening to it.

Sorry to learn you're not well Grah, may I wish you a speedy and full recovery.

Kev, keep us updated

I had a strum through this last night and had to stop at one point due to eyes misting over. I think the lyrics are brilliant, and so bloody true.
  Great song TIG

On the first verse I'm starting in D then Bm, both down the neck on the 2nd fret (ok strictly speaking the bottom A is played open on the D chord).
The second verse
Playing the D and Bm from the 5th & 7th fret respectively.

The verse starting
I was off down the straight etc.
Completely lost, can anyone help?

I been messing around with a simple
Structure,D,Bm,G,A.
Then using a rather loose open C,G,F on the chorus. I was thinking more early 60s Beach Boys style, as they were always singing about hot rods, muscle cars etc.
But open to all ideas.

May I apologize to all Canadians and to Tenement Funster in particular, for not including you in the above post.
And of course without T F's hook that I can't get out of my head, none of this would have been possible.
Although I have found that while it's buzzing around my brain cell it's making me drive faster, can I charge the speeding fines to Chordie?
Once again, apologies to Canada and T F.

Hi guys. Re the songwriting.
I would hope no one takes it to seriously, for me it's just a way of passing a bit of time while playing the old guitar. I have stuck a few more lines to it and made it fit into a very simple chord structure.
For me the fun part will be playing it in the pub and telling them it was written in collaboration with people from all over the USA and Europe.
But who knows, if theirs a Chordies Greatest Hits album
You just may be able to find a bit of space.

The Tate Gallery in London, someone placed an unmade bed, and had people queuing round the block to view it. So you guys just carry on doing what you're doing. To someone it's art.
(queuing, is my spellchecker working)?

Just to tidy things up a bit. Please feel free to add take away or change it.

I moved on down to where the hot cars racing
Big dirty engines throwing up smoke
Everyone laughed at my mini cooper
Said it looked like a bit of a joke.

Behind Porche and Ferarri I took up my place
As we waited for green lights that started the race
They thought I was beat coz they were supersized
But I knew they were bout to get mini - mized.

I was off down the straight like a bat out of hell, and I knew this could be fun
And one by one the big boys fell as I let those horses run
I'll wipe that smile from your face you big disgrace, coz everyone can see.
This is no chariot race and you can't keep pace with mini cooper and me.

My motor was red lined in third so I slammed it in forth
The flames from my pipes they blew like a torch
Layer rubber in forth as I aimed for the line
I knew that I'd left all the big boys behind.
          Chorus
To win any race you gotta be wise
Don't matter how big all those other guys
Coz big ones fall, even supersized
A thing I like to call, you bin mini-mized.
