Interesting question, I've used Elixers on all my guitars and have'nt noticed any undue fret wear. I would be more inclined to think that the cause could be a softer metal used on the frets. Anybody have any thoughts on metal used for frets, stainless, titanium, versus brass?

I use a stand all time, never could keep everything memorized. I can memorize a song but as soon as I start trying to memorize a second song, pieces of the first one start to disappear.

It seems to have no pattern. It appears to come and go. I had the error message in the morning, but in the afternoon and evening chordie was working fine. Seems like the error message appears randomly. Most of the time the error message appears when I try to access my songbooks and a few times it has appeared when I tried to log in. I tried to reproduce the error too, thinking it was something I was doing that was confusing my computer but I could not reproduce it either.

I'm with jjj on this, woodworking is a hobby of mine and I have found that staining can raise the grain. You can use super fine sandpaper or steel wool to smooth out the finish but it's my belief that removing wood can effect tonal quality (maybe for the better or maybe not). If it aint broke don't fix it. Might be a good time to relieve GAS by making a trip your favorite guitar shop.

DON'T PANIC!  I'm sure admin is aware and working to solve this little glitch. Sometimes I get an error 12 message too, I just click on the tab a second time and I'm in, not a big problem really. Chordie is the best and it's free.

There is no such thing as a "bad" case of GAS.  There is no cure, it can only be managed by playing more guitar. The hardest thing about GAS is deciding which one should I play, the 6 string, the 12er, or the strat or the banjo, or maybe the dulcimer - wait I saw really nice Johnson electric at the guitar store the other day - Honey I'm going out for awhile, be back soon!

JJJ, all that Amy said is good advice. I use melatonin to help me sleep sometimes, it allows me to wake easily if my wife needs anything. I had to retire because of my back injury, now I can devote more time to care for my wife and sometimes I need a little help to relax and unwind. You are wise to try to stay away from alcohol and narcotics - been there and done that. I know this may sound selfish but, you need to take care of yourself first, so that you are able to take care of those who need you.

Hope your wife recovers from her injury. I know what it's like being a caregiver. Take care of yourself jjj.

Woke the wife up I was laughing so loud! When she finally came out of the bedroom and asked what all the noise was about I said "what noise?" She turned around and walked back the bedroom shaking her head.
