Probably making up for the whooping the Seahawks dropped on the Cardinals on Thursday.

And, in other news, after a brilliant loss to Stanford, my Huskies got run over by Oregon, and Stanford goes out and gets beat by Utah.
Seahawks were full clown shoes today, but still managed to pull out the win. Their place kicker got absolutely blown up trying to make a tackle, so the punter had to step in for field goal duty. Only problem is that the punter is the usual place holder for the field goal unit, so a guy that hadn't done that since college had to do it.
So with two seconds left in the half, they try a field goal, and the inevitable happened. Muffed place, guy tries to get up and run with it, then as he's being tackled, instead of just taking the hit, he tries to grenade lob it to someone else. It's picked up and run back 75 yards for a TD. I could year "Yackity Sax" being played, somewhere.
They also dropped the ball all over the field, something they typically don't do. Anyway, they managed to win despite not playing well. So that's good.
Well, maybe he doesn't get a bad rap tonight. What is that, eleven picks?
Houston is good overall. I think they're QB gets a bad rap, though.
They were running it, that's for sure, but just couldn't get into the end zone enough.
Tough week for football out here.
Man, the UW Stanford game was awesome when the refs were letting them play.
Horrible officiating all over the place right in the middle of a really good football game.
So I was in Chicago last week, and as I was waiting for the subway train to take me to the airport, these four kids start singing at the end of the station, and they were phenominal. I had my workstation with me, but no mics, and even if I had them, I couldn't have plugged into my interface, anyway, without AC power. So I used my phone, and the results were less than spectacular.
You can hear them here, and I'm sure you'll agree that a better fidelity recording of this bit of impromptu greatness would be much better.

So, vowing to never get caught off guard again, I ordered up one of these dandy little devices.
TASCAM DR-100 MkII
In addition to the four on-board mics, it will also accept two balanced XLR inputs and provide phantom power, so I am going to buy another AKG-420 and set up a Blumlien pair for recording jam circles at Wintergrass again. The whole thing will fit in a small bag.
Stereo rocks.
Man, this is the kind of day I've had. I'm watching the Seahawks get a beat down compliments of the Texans. It's 20-13 with four minutes left, and Wilson throws a pick. I turn it off and go to wait for the tree guy to come by. We're talking and drawing up a plan to take care of the trees in the yard, and I mention it was too bad about the 'Hawks gettting whacked.
He says "They won" and then goes on to describe the comeback OT win they pulled off.
First time in team history they're 4-0.
I guess if I would have watched, they'd have lost.
Are you thinking about Tom Dempsey who kicked a league record 65 yrd field goal?
That's the guy! I think that record still stands, doesn't it?
What was the name of that half-footed kicker the Saints used to play? He was one of the earliest football players I can remember, and is largley why I like the Saints today.
No way was Seattle/SF going to be a shootout. They are two run focused offenses with bone shaking running backs and absolutely brutal defenses. They are really built similarly. Kapernick's 4brazillion yards last week wasn't how they want to win games, but that was how they had to win games as Green Bay had taken their run away. The niners and the Hawk's like to run the ball. Anyway, Seattle hasn't given up more than 20 since November of last year, so points in this one were going to be at a premium.
That's twice in a row Seattle has laid a beating down on them, though, so I expect the week 14 matchup in Candlestick (or whatever they call it these days) to be an even tougher game. Seattle should have Percy Harvin in the lineup by then, as well as Chris Clemons. What is the word on Michael Crabtree?
And that stadium is absurdly loud.
Winamp is still the best overall music player around, I think. It's available for Android.
For football fans, football started last week when my Huskies stomped all over Boise State.
For us NFL fans, yay! It's time!
I will say that if the Seahawks play against SF like they did against Carolina today, they're going to get beat badly. The interior line play on both sides of the ball was horrible. Offensive linemen getting knocked over backwards by linebackers, no pass rush at all, stupid penalties, and when DeAngelo Williams can stuff it right down the middle of your defense, you know you have problems.
I can't believe Russell Wilson had 320 in that game. He must have run seven miles while throwing it. Carolina's front seven were all over him all day long.
Two track digital recorder (Fostex MR-8, Tascam DP-6, etc...) if you want independent tracking of the guitar and vocals.
If you don't care about that, get a stereo hand-held recorder like the TASCAM DR-5, or the Zoom H4-N.
I have a field kit that consists of my Mac Book, TASCAM US-800, two condenser mikes, and booms. I can pack all of that into a duffle bag. If you replace the Mac Book and audio interface with a two track digital recorder, you'll probably get the best mix of value and quality.
Buy used.
Completely disagree. Need to run tubes hard to make them sound good.
That. The whole point of tubes is to get them to distort. That's when they sound fantastic. If you aren't pushing the power envelope of the pre-amp and power amp, then you might as well run solid state.
The fact that those guys are still playing is a miracle in and of itself. I saw them back in the lat '90s on the original reunion tour. They were awesome, for a bunch of old guys.
Beer, top. You might like it if you gave it a try.
I just put five gallons of dirty, dirty blond into beugel bottles. When I get the fridge in the garage, I'm kegging, like God intended.
"So Long, Farewell"

Gotta go with the classics, ya know?
I just hate long goodbyes...
*snif*
I have a friend who is a pretty well respected beat box dude. I've seen him replace drum kits in their entirety, and beat along with himself as he sings.
It's pretty impressive stuff when it's done well.
I have found that the degree to which the customer is right is directly proportional to the amount of money they are about to spend. I spent the last portion of my career doing seven figure deals with your phone company, and you can bet that with that amount of scratch in play, they're going to be more right than you are every time.
I just started a new gig (trains this time, cool!) but I'm not on the sales side. But since our biggest customers are also our owners, I'd imagine they're right most of the time, too.
A free market is much more than the lowest price. And like topdown, while I don't agree with the not-a-customer's opinion on the matter, I respect his right to have one and shop accordingly. There a a lot of establishments I don't buy from based on that, no matter what price point they may provide.
