I too never had heard that song - you played it very well. I had the exact same thoughts TF did about the headset Mics!
You are a master of many different styles of music for sure.
Well done, sir!Jim
Thanks! I thought it was an 80's classic!
(But looking at the charts again, it got to 98 of the US Billboard top 100 songs)
Glad to introduce new (old) music to you!
Cheers
Richard
Well done, Neo ... a song I'd never heard before, and you certainly did it justice. Do I see dual microphones in your video? If so, I'm curious to know what you've rigged up and why. Nice cover, Neo ... always enjoy your work.
Thanks - when in my teenage years I got a lot into the techno-pop stuff, which was most of it around that era
No two microphones - I'd used the Rode as a lavalier style mic, on my shirt collar, etc, but wasn't getting the pickup from the voice, so i ordered an 'el cheapo' brand from China with the headset style microphone. Then I ripped out that mic and put my Rode in it's place, which is mostly what I use these days. I still need to hit it with some hot glue, as it keeps popping out of where the old mic used to sit, but it's just one mic for everything. This video is an older one between when I received the headset and before I pulled the mic, so the Rode is off to the side (the internal mic wasn't plugged in after the one trial, in which it's quality was 'as expected').

Also found this version, by the singer from New Order: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxp5ogeJ54Q

Sounds good; I was waiting for some bass and/or drums to bring the lower end in, that would have been the icing on the cake!!!

Looks like you had a lot of fun doing that one, Neo ... a great cover of this "Hollies" classic.
Thanks - it was fun, I did it on the 12 string first, but it sounded better on the 6 ....

Lalena by Deep Purple (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ucy0XYxuNT8) was better than Donovan's (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5bdJPvrbOw) ...
That's terrific!! Can you do a Panorama pic for us???

Bummer ... for whatever reason I can see them here in Chordie, but no one else can.
I can't get my photos from my PC to an Internet Site anywhere. Tried Picasa, Google+ Photos, etc., but keep getting run around in endless loops which are driving me crazy! They've worked in the past, but new "improvements" they've made have added more complexity (as often happens).
You're welcome to jump onto my webserver forum: http://neophytte.mine.nu/forum/ (you'll need to register) and pop them into the "Photography" section, from there you can add them to this site by using the "copy image location" from a right click (in FireFox). It's been a while since I've used it, I think there is a restriction on file size, but I can't remember what it is ....
If you get stuck, or need further instructions, send me a PM ....

Sorry about that, gents ... how's it look now?
Still no image, in Firefox or Chrome
I'm not 100% sure, but I'll have a stab at this; the formatting on the site uses a variation of a file format called chordpro (see this site for more details: https://www.chordpro.org/chordpro/index.html), although some people are not aware of how to use it so they write their words/music verbatim with the chords aligning above the text, such as:
G A7
Love me Tender, Love me true ...
Whilst the chordpro version includes the chords in square brackets inline, and looks like:
[G]Love me tender,[A7]Love me true ...
Which then renders out as:
Note also that in the forums, this needs to be written as:
[song]
{st: Artist}
{t: Title}
[G]Love me tender,[A7]Love me true ...
[/song]
Sometimes people will mix and match these two styles as well, which can lead the parser to make mistakes, because it's not sure what it's dealing with ....
I'm not sure if I answered the original question, but I hope that helps.

Nice collection. I would love to get down to that many. I see mine in a different light than you do.
Thanks - every one of them is a different story - as I was unpacking them, so many memories come flooding back; like the silver G707 in the front (extreme right), that I played at a gig in Fremantle and they had no stairs to the stage, so as I hoisted myself up, guitar in hand, I split the groin of my black trousers .... look back and laugh.
I'm curious about how you see yours?

Well, I've finally completed a new music room!

I am very, very late to this party. Like 16 months late. But, really, I had this song in mind to do when this topic came up. It has taken until August, 2019 to give it a try. This is my second time through the song. Please excuse the horrors of mic cutout and mumbelation.
I think you're being too hard on yourself - it sounds great ... !!
Oddly, I was looking at the FSOTM forum last night, wondering if it would kick off again, and this morning, here we are .... !!!

Nicely done, Neo ... clean chord changes, and a nice amount of reverb on your vocal. I had to learn Lauper's "True Colors" once, to accompany a gal singing at a wedding reception ... interesting song. Thanks for sharing, dude ... really enjoyed it!
Thanks .... it was a song a friend asked me to do, although I'd played it a few times before, wasn't sure if my voice would suit it, so glad to hear you enjoyed it!!
Love the slick chord changes, nicely done. A great song
Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it!!!

I almost passed over this, cause I thought it was a spam topic; but that's a nice axe!! I keep looking at Rondo and thinking I should order some stuff from there, but the urge and the finances haven't yet matched up ....

I started out with a Ditto, then moved to a Ditto x2. They are both basic and fun to play with (I got the x2 for the same price I sold the Ditto for, so upgraded due to 'no loss of money' factor). Later I moved into the Pigtronix Infinity Looper, specifically because it outputs a MIDI clock which would sync up to my BeatBuddy drum pedal - apparently you can also get the MIDI to sync up to reverb pedals, but I haven't done that yet.

[edit] Looking for a pic of the Pigtronix, found this link you might like: https://equipboard.com/posts/best-looper-pedals
