Jets60, I agree with what Peatle said on Soundcloud, a good yearning type song.  Nicely performed and written .

neophytte, nice performance by you both.  Your son is doing so well joining you.  Is this one you have posted before as it looked familiar?  The only thing in this recording I would change slightly is maybe to have the piano a bit louder or maybe the guitar a bit quieter, just so the full effect of the piano could come through as parts of it was hard to hear the piano.  Otherwise nicely done and suits your vocals.

neophytte, thanks for the great feedback on my cover smile
I really liked your cover of Vincent, you performed it really well, especially if you have just gotten over a cold.  You managed the high notes and just the right amount of reverb on this one.  Great to hear you chatting a little bit before hand as well.  Big Thumbs up from me.

zurf, lol sorry if your not a fan of Neil Youngs music big_smile  Just what I could hear in parts of your vocals on one of your songs.  I like some of the old Neil Young songs, so didn't mean to insult you big_smile
Thanks for the neat feedback on my cover too smile

Nicely performed easybeat, good all round with what you have written, sung and instrumentally.

A big Hi to everyone this month of SEPTEMBER, it`s a change of season worldwide, the start of SPRING for some countries in the Southern hemisphere and the beginning of FALL /AUTUMN in the Northern hemisphere.

So, for this month of SEPTEMBER, looking for SONGS with any of the following WORDS in them.  The WORDS are   HELP …. HOUSE …. ROAD …. SEA.

It can be a COVER SONG or an ORIGINAL SONG, it can have one of the words somewhere in the song or more than one of the words in the song, heck it can have all 4 of the words in the song if you want.

Here are some suggestions from members of Chordie.
Help - The Beatles
Try a little kindness - Glen Campbell (has the words Road and Help in the song)
House of the rising sun - The Animals
Burning down the house - The Cardigans
On the road again - Willie Nelson
Roadhouse – The Doors
Hit The Road Jack – Ray Charles

Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with this month and remember, the above are only suggestions, you can COVER, perform an ORIGINAL even if its not been suggested.

READY!  SET!  GO!

Thanks so much Peatle, Grah1, easybeat and TIGLJK for the AWESOME feedback, made my day today actually and put a smile on my face from all the lovely comments and feedback.   I was doing housework, blah,  and it lifted my spirit up as I did my jobs around the house.

easybeat, that was real old school big_smile, reminded of me of the stuff we used to watch as kids at primary school.  The voice of the person speaking, was like all the old school documentaries when they spoke lol

Peatle, that was very much old school (as well) Kiwi shearing days, and I remember that song.  That dog was pretty amazing jumping those fences.

Nice one Jim,  you have written this song well.  I agree, those 3 words are a bit nerve racking when your young in particular and most of us cross the nervous bridge and say them.  Love that line out of the bible too.

Peatle, nicely written and  your thoughts come through strongly.  Well done, I enjoyed it as I visualized certain things you mentioned in there.  Like you, we have lots of Tui`s around the place and wood pigeons as well.  The wood pigeons, who weigh the trees branches down with their size and weight sometimes.

zurf, I enjoyed listening and watching both of those and I always enjoy your chat before hand. I actually don't know either of those songs so I cant compare  them to the originals but they sounded fine by me and I think you covered them both well and with enthusiasm.   I was listening to the sound of your vocals, I reckon your voice would also suit some Neil Young songs, just at certain points I could hear your vocals sounded a bit like his vocals.

Anyway here is my very late entry and done very quickly as its the last day of the month for this months entries.  I was hoping to do another 2 songs that I had lined up but time has run out for me as we were away on holiday and I just haven't had time to get anything more done for this.  So here it is, rushed as it is.

Peatle, that was great writing, loved it, very clever piece of writing.

As for the jokes, well done, made me laugh everyone.

Tig, I used to love watching Lambchops as a kid, I still have a lambchops soft toy.

Peatle, that video clip was a hardcase too, a bit like you, I love some of the kids programs big_smile

Had a listen, some good sounds in there.  I bet you have lots of fun together performing.  Is Ronnie the main vocalist that I could hear?  3 guitarists, 1 drummer  and lead singer? Awesome Grah1, must be so much fun.

Nicely done Grah1, had me tapping my foot along.  Would also love to hear you play another song on this where you do some picking in amongst the strumming to hear how it sounds.

Also, you friend Mike was good at performing, good entertainer.

very interesting

Now that is awesome how he played that, wish I could play like that.

Back from holiday and back to reality, catching up around home and jobs that seem to never end.

neophytte, had a listen to both your recording and Phills.  It`s hard to compare them because you both have different styles, vocally and instrumently.  I enjoyed them both, it was good to hear the different styles too.  I did notice your version had quite a bit of reverb on which also added to a different effect on it.  Nice to see an original being performed as well.

TIGLJK, loved how you put all 4 words from this month into your very cleverly written original song, you have such a talent for song writing.  I had a listen and it was great to hear you performing your song and how you hear it being played.

Thanks so much Peatle, its just great to see everyone participating and having ago at FSOTM.

Grah1, lol yep, there are lots of songs you can play with the 3 same chords on the uke and you have just demonstrated that above lol.  I remember years ago, when I was first learning  to play the ukulele and a young lady performed for us and she did exactly that.  She played and sang one song after another, all into one long assembly of songs joined together.  As a beginner to the ukulele, I remember being very impressed with her.  I think I still have her list somewhere in one of my books, I will see if I can find it smile

Hi everyone, awesome to see all these entries this month and for everyone having ago at FSOTM.  I am struggling to get online presently as still away on holiday in the South Island and some places such as the Milford Sounds just does not have internet.  Anyway, i managed to listen tonight to some, the rest will have to wait until I return to Wellington next week as very limited internet where we are at the moment.

Anyway, Brian, that was your best singing yet, you have definitely been practicing, you performed, sang that one really well.  Give yourself a big pat on the back smile.

Peatle, it sounded great.  You performed it well, I like what you did with it.  I would have given you a like but I am using my hubbies acct.

Grah, good to see you have recovered enough to be able to perform in FSOTM.  An oldie but a goodie that song.  The banjitar suits the song too of course, though like any banjo, it tends to make the vocals a little harder to hear.

With that, will have to listen to the rest when I get home and have decent internet access.

Thanks Peatle for taking the time to have a listen, it’s a neat sing
along song that one smile
