Hi deadstring, I've been having this problem for a couple of weeks. I am in the middle of dealing with emails back and forward to microsoft to see if they can figure out why this is happening all of a sudden. So far no joy. What I can say is that I think it is a problem with flash objects or embedded content. It is very annoying. I have tried playing around with my settings (with microsofts recommended fiddling about) and still no change. One thing worth noting is that this is only a problem using Internet Explorer. I even updated to IE8 and it made no difference. So I downloaded Firefox and there are no problems when browring with that. It is very wierd.

River City is still going but I've never watched it. Should I?

I'm not familiar with it, but I don't really watch a lot of tv. I sometimes wonder if my tv has any more channels other than Disney. My daughter watches it ALL THE TIME. Same shows repeated day after day. There's only so much Hannah Montana a man can take. And as for Zack and Cody! They drive me insane. Or as they're known in my house, Jack n Boaby (Glasgow pronounciation of Bobby).

Youyube search for Riverside coming up.....

Thanks Bensonp and Alvee33 (Ha sos, BTW),

You know that Kernuak and Gaelic share many similar words, original Brythonic languages - great stuff and well spotted.

I should have said on my intro that I've been playing the guitar for >32 years - it looked like I was stating my age!

Cum giotar A'cluiche (hope that's correct Alvee)

Slan leat!

Hee hee... Ok you found me out. I looked it up and found a list of Cornish phrases. And while I'm in the confessional.... I don't speak Gaelic either. Which is a shame because the Celtic languages all sound extremely beautiful when spoken. Or even written.

I'm willing to guess your reply was something along the lines of - Hail the guitarist, cheers yourself. But I'm probably well off.

Very nice to have you here.

I wish the pub i was in last night at 8:30 had the lights off and the TV, that way I would not have seen Scotland get gubbed 4-0 by the Dutch.

Ken

Don't know what you were drinking, Ken, but the game I watched (with the lights out of course) ended 3-0 to the Dutch.

Heather,

It looks like you had a real nice evening. It must be nice for you and Paul to jam away to your heart's content. I usually get banished to the spare room where no-one can hear me singing lol

Geatest game in the world! I think not! If by world you mean USA then fine but no other country in the real world plays it.

Now I've lit the fuse I'll retreat a few hundred metres and watch the fireworks. wink

You mean you haven't heard me rave about my Yamaha APX500 (no it's not a bike)! I love it, it cost me £200. Or rather it cost Mrs alvee33 £200 as 40th birthday prezzy a couple of years ago.

Nice low action. Very easy to play, even with my small hands. Sounds great unplugged or plugged. Built-in tuner is a brilliant feature.

The winter broke here in Wales last week, we had about 10 days of very mild weather with crystal clear blue skies, I even had shorts and a t-shirt in the garden a few days.  Back to normal this week tho ;?(

We had snow back in January which cost me 4 days off work and the kids out of school for the whole week.  I live at about 1000 feet, deep in a steep valley so we only need a little snow and the roads are un drivable due to the steepness of them.

Jings! I hope things improve for July, when I head down Welsh Wales way on holiday lol

You'd be surprised at the horror stories some "reputable" dealers will present for purchase in store. I went o the largest store in Glasgow and was horrified at the condition of the guitars on show.

At the bottom of every song there is an option to "improve this song". You can then edit to your heart's content.

Brilliant site, one of the best I have been on, shame we can't add our versions of songs direct

Hi there, this is more for legal reasons than anything else really. You can, however, improve any song on the index if you think it needs it. Or you can be more personal about it and edit any of the songs you have in your songbook.

And you're wrong - Chordie is the best you've been on smile

A brilliant way to win the Grand Slam! What a feeling it must've been to be sitting behind the posts when that drop kick went over. Fantastic!

Now to get on your bad side...... we never got my mother flowers this year. We got and arrangement of fruit that was cut to look like flowers. It was amazing looking. I think flowers would've lasted longer smile

Not many artists would do that. I guess folkies are more into the sharing the music and spreading the word.

Micky, this does indeed happen to us all. Take a short break, say 1 or 2 days. Then go back to basics when you pick the blessed thing up again. I mean like try playing the 1st song you ever learned. Get the chords up on screen and take your time and play it concentrating on the basic chord shapes. Sometimes playing a really familiar song will reboot the hand/brain link. Or just sit and play between the chords you're having trouble with for 15 - 20 mins and then have a break. It's important to have a break every now and then; it lets the old grey matter get to grips with what your fingers are doing.

Sometimes, for me, I maybe haven't played for a couple of days because I'm in a bit of a rut and then I'll hear a song on the radio and think - that sounds playable - and this can re-ignite the willingness to learn.

I gave up about 16 years ago and have regretted it since I got the passion back about 4 years ago. NEVER give in. Yes, it's hard but man it's fun! I can now sit and play a few songs with family and friends and can assure you, once you do this, there is no feeling like it. If I'd stuck at it all those years ago I might even be quite good smile

At the top right of the forum pages there is an empty box. Looks like a missing image. Is this just me or is it indeed missing?

Renfrew, eh?
Renfrewshire is the county which takes it's name from Renfrew. I live about 7 miles south west of Renfrew, in one of Renfrewshire's many villages. A short hop east across the famous River Clyde from Renfrew and you are in Scotland's largest city - Glasgow. Renfrew is known as "The Cradle of the Stewarts" and is proud to claim that the Stewart line of monarchs originated from there. Here's a link to a town website http://www.myrenfrew.com/index.htm .
Chances are that on your previous visits, if you flew into Glasgow International Airport you could see Renfrew out the window as you landed (depending on which way aproached). And on second thoughts if you aproached from the other direction you could probably see in my window!

Get yourselves over here.
