Well, I am a solo act too and last summer had a great gig playing every weekend on the deck of a local lakeside restaurant/bar. One night towards the end of the last set, I was playing an origial song and I only play a couple of them a night. I do mostly cover songs. Halfway through the song I notice this women watching me with tears streaming down her face. I'm thinking this is so bad I'm making her cry, lol! After I was done and packing up she told me that my song had "touched" her and she liked it very much. It was one of the best compliments of my music career. Knowing that though my music I was able to touch someone. It almost made up for all the flubs and gaffs that sprinkle my gigs!

Though the peavy may be a bit more complicated to set up, think of all the fun playing with it to get "your" new sound. On the other hand, familiarity is hard to beat as well. Just close your eyes and let your ears decide for you! Witch ever choice you make will be a good one. And perhaps a bit premature, but happy new amp day!

I agree with you Doug!
Very talented you are Graham.

I like it very much! Can almost hear it with some blues slide guitar. And being played in a smokie honky tonk down around New Orleans. Great mental picture! As always, nice work Graham!

I have found that with guitars, beauty is only skin deep. Seen some that looked like a weck but played and sounded great. Then others looked heaven then and played and sounded like hell. Never judge a book.....well you know. Happy new guitar day!

Very sorry to hear you are in the hospital NELA. Good thing is they will get you back to feeling better in no time! Maybe someone can sneak in some KFC or some other fast food. Last time I was in that worked for me. And since you and the wife can't go to play, perhaps some players could come to you. If not against the rules, of course. Nothing wrong with bending them a little though! Feel better soon, I'll be thinking of ya!

Very nice job Pete, I think it sounded great!
I'm thinking about purchasing the Helicon Acoustic Play, how do you like yours so far? Is it easy to use and set up? I'm thinking it would be a cool addition for solo gigs. The reviews I've seen for it have been mostly good as well. Again, great job on one of my favorite Christmas songs!

Very nice work Amy! And very scary!
My other passion besides playing music is deer hunting with bow and arrow. The last few weeks when not working. I'm up at four am, in the woods by first light and come out at dark. Needless to say, I've not been playing as much as usual lately. But will get back to playing and hopefully a winter gig in a couple of weeks.

Nice job jets, I really liked it! I tried playing and singing to the grandsons too. Didn't work out so good, they cried louder.

NELA, there is an old saying,a mans gonna do what a mans gonna do!
But the other side of the coin is if they didn't care they wouldn't give you such a hard time about doing things you know you shouldn't do.
I think playing guitar or writing a new song is a good compromise. At least until the doc's give you the go ahead to do more.
Hang in there bud, hope you feel better soon!

As I am getting a little more mature,I seem to gravitate more to the singer-songwriter type of music. It can be simple or complex, soulful or airy, fast or slow but always from the heart. Some very good artists reside right here in Chordie in fact.

The Panthers got whipped pretty bad again today. I keep waiting for Cam and company to really step it up to the next level. I don't see that happening any time soon. But Steve Smith showed his old team how to get it done today.
