When I first started guitar the song that kept me learning the notes was Simple Gifts. I had heard it on the cd that came with the book and I loved it. I also started on chords with that song.

Hello everybody,
I have been watching/listening Jonny Cash's version of Hurt (the 'official' youtube video).
I can't figure out the picking pattern that is used.
I have the song with chords from here... Does anyone know how it's done?

Hi Everybody-
I'm having troble with A/C#. I can't reach that far (c# on A string) with my pinky without my ring finger pulling off the 2nd fret. I'm trying to do a regular 'A' chord then stretch over to get the c#. It doesn't seem to be working... Thanks for any tips!

Re: I'm learning and just mastering Bm (24 replies, posted in Acoustic)
Hey Sharkin-
The song I learned Bm on is the round of chords for Pachabel's Canon in D. It goes D-A-Bm-F#m-G-A-D-A. Sometimes By Step (by Rich Mullins) has many Bms also (with no Fs!).
I'd like to mention that the F#m in Canon I only barred the last 3 strings on the 2nd fret with my index finger, and had my last 2 fingers on the 4th fret A and D strings. It's not so hard that way.

Hey everybody, how do you strum a chord like Gadd9, G11, G7#9 etc... where you are supposed to play the E string, but not the A string, then all the others?
