I took a video recording me playing and then downloaded it to my computer and it turned out pretty well, but when I put it up on utube the audio was messed up drastically. What happened? And any ideas on how to fix it?

A man on his Harley was riding along a Californian beach when suddenly the sky clouded over and, in a booming voice, God said, "Because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish."

The biker pulled over and said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want."

God replied, "Your request is materialistic. Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking; the supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific; and the concrete and steel it would take!  I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that could possibly be of help to mankind."

The  biker thought about it for a long time. Finally, he said, "God, I wish that I, and all men, could understand women. I want to know how  she feels inside; what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment; why she cries; what she means when she says 'nothing's wrong'; why she snaps and complains when I try to help; and how I can make a woman truly happy."

God replied..................

"You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"

OH how I laughed at this one, loved it!

A Banker parks his brand new Porsche in front of the office to show it off to his colleagues.

As he's getting out of the car, a lorry comes speeding along too close to the kerb and takes off the door before zooming off.

More than a little distraught, the Banker grabs his mobile and calls the police.

Five minutes later, the police arrive. Before the policeman has a chance to ask any questions, the man starts screaming hysterically: 'My Porsche, my beautiful silver Porsche is ruined. No matter how long it's at the panel beaters it'll simply never be the same again!'

After the man finally finishes his rant, the policeman shakes his head in disgust.

'I can't believe how materialistic you blessed Bankers are,' he says. 'You lot are so focused on your possessions that you don't notice anything else in your life.'

'How can you say such a thing at a time like this?' sobs the Porsche owner.

The policeman replies, 'Didn't you realise that your right arm was torn off when the truck hit you.'

The Banker looks down in horror.

'FLIPPING HECK!' he screams........'Where's my Rolex????...

I liked this one. LOL

So, how many songs have you recorded?

(22 replies, posted in My local band and me)

It is alot different when other hear you compared to when you listen to yourself. What did you think the first time you heard yourself recorded? The first time I heard myself it was like whoa! That's what I sound like reallY? it's like a different world when your listening compared to when your the one singing.

It was mostly your voice that reminds me of John Denver but some of the melody too. What are your favorite songs done by him?.

My insperation comes from many many things but to sum it up it comes from who I am. Singing and playing for me is like talking with my soul, it just comes out in a melody. For me it's the best way to allow my heart to fly. Whenever I'm singing or playing it's like I'm in my own little world, a world of beauty and solace. I give all the glory to God for my talents. I have played and sang for large groups as big as 300 people and I love the way Music touches peoples lives. I don't mean to boast here it's just what i've seen. I was sitting down at the park the other week just playing and singing away and the next thing I know I had over half a dozen kids sit down and clap to my music. Music is a power, one you can use for the good of the world.

Wow very good. right now I'm at a time in my life where I feel alone and un prepared and I find myself wondering why everyone around me seems to have it all so easy, talk about frustrating and un fair, but I work not to let it get to me. I guess some of us have to pull more weight than others. thanks for sharing.

Very interesting on how you got the music to sound like that, but very cool. This song kinda reminds me of someone I know. Good job.

Hi lane, yeah I do play guitar. I had a video taken of me singing and playing this song but when I uploaded it to utube the sound was messed up. I don't know how to fix it or what caused it but if I can figure it out I will post it up for ya'll to hear. and thanks by the way for your comments.

I just finished polishing up the acoustic version of " When I'm alone" by Brandon Heath. I got done last week recording sixteen songs so I took a break from playing but I am again picking up my guitar and looking for new songs.

Wrote this recently but is still in the editing process.

I sit and my mind whirls with so many troubles, and my heart is filled with fear.
I have no idea how this shall all play out, what am I supposed to do on my own?
I have no comfort nor peace of mind, so I pray hoping He will always be near.
A perfect life, an everlasting satisfying happiness some have never known.

I wonder about so many things that have been strangers to me.
I’ve watched others around and see their light of life shine,
Wishing I had it too. The love, the peace, and joy, but I only get to see.
But I wait and pray for all these to someday become mine.

Confusion has become a constant companion of mine, but one I try to rid.
The hardest things in life to fight are the things you can’t see, but only feel.
I’ve felt like giving up and when change started to come that’s when I hid.
When I find something amazing and good  I wonder is this for true? For real?

I wonder about so many things that have been strangers to me.
I’ve watched others around and see their light of life shine,
Wishing I had it too. The love, the peace, and joy, but I only get to see.
But I wait and pray for all these to someday become mine.

I know, so many dark thoughts and so many worries I allow in my head.
But even still, I take courage in my faith, and I have a kindling hope.
I know I am strong enough to over come, even with all this I have said.
My heart still beats, my body still breaths. I will find a way to cope.

I wonder about so many things that have been strangers to me.
I’ve watched others around and see their light of life shine,
Wishing I had it too. The love, the peace, and joy, but I only get to see.
But I wait and pray for all these to someday become mine.

I have the choice not to let myself fall, I won’t let the darkness win this round.
With every dawn I know I have a chance for this to be the day I could win the war.
We must all try to fly every now and then, but it’s gravity that pulls us to the ground.
I’ll stay strong, even when I feel weak. I’ll endure and someday I know my spirit will soar.

Yes I’ll stay strong even when I feel weak,
I’ll stand even when I feel like I’ll break.

HI Johan, I don't know about changing the username, but I do know how you can change your password. When you log in and your in a "room" such as the forum on your left corner of the screen you will see "PROFILE". Click on that and then under your user name you will see change password. Just click on that and you should know what to do from there. Hope I was some help.

Hi T-Rex, You and I seem to have found some things in common, writting. I am glad you liked it. On your comment of those who pass judgement, I have met alot of those and it always angered me when I saw someone trying hard to mend faults but others made it so very hard for them to move on. I believe if you have faith in someone it will make all the difference in the world. If only we all had someone to do that for us imagine the outcome for so many.

You all get together to play guitar over the internet?

Have any of you ever heard of a shark fin pick? I got one time and thought it was pretty cool. They also have this cool pick called a jellyfish pick that is actully made from guitar strings and they sound really cool. My main pick name brand that I like is called " Everly star picks" They have a  hole in the center and have great grip. They come in different thickness so you could probly find what works for you. I do have a few fender picks too and there fairly good.
